Love the videos especially because we have identical bikes geared out the same. Besides the bikes, many roads are familiar also. Your stops and photos are spectacular and capture so much. I definitely want to go back!! Thanks for sharing!!

The roads and riding with the mountain backdrop, Lake with the low fog, and Absolutely stunning scenery. Naver stayed in a Hostel before...We toured Canada two times and loved it. The first time we stayed in Canmore, and the second time were on our way to Alaska. We have plans to return in July for a week. Great video👍Just Subbed.

Just found your videos and am enjoying watching as many as I can this weekend. I am sure you have it listed somewhere but what do you have for sprockets on your VS , I have a 2013 650 adventure model and ended up with 16 front and 45 rear , I knew from watching your speed and tac that you weren't geared stock . I give you a ton of credit for riding as many miles as you do on the VS, I love mine but sometimes wish for a bit more power , happy trails !

Hi. I always replace the chain and sprockets at the same time (~20,000 miles). At the beginning of 2024 I installed a DID 525 VX3 chain, 15 tooth front with dampener, and a 47 tooth rear from the Sprocket Center, which I believe was similar to what I used during the Western Canada trip.
I am pleased with this combination and love the torque in the mountains. One of my earlier bikes was a Yamaha FJR 1300 (tons of HP) but I actually enjoy the V-Strom more for its versatility.
I just launched a US National Parks series last Thursday if you are interested. Thanks for watching!
      Regards
      Paul

@@paulzig4323 So you are geared stock, it seemed like your rpm's were more similar to mine at the 16/45 , I do miss the low down torque I lost but I am in no hurry to get anywhere , it dropped the rpm's at 70 around 400 . I am 67 , started riding when I was 10 , rode all over the US into my 20's ,stopped until about 10 years ago and picked it back up again. Love the therapy days out , not sure why I gave it up for so many years . Started out with a BMW RT and then picked up this 13 Dl 650 VS adventure 4 years ago and like you I love it , perfect for me really . I bought it from a retired engineer who bought it new and added the Rosco electronic cruise control which I like . I use the Dunlop trailmax mission tires which wear like iron if you ever think about trying a different tire on yours . Anyway , YES , I will be watching all your videos :) Keep up the great work ! And thanks for the reply
