I think the lying and concealing her past is less worrisome than the fact she cheated on her husband. You can debate the validity of concealing past information that makes you look bad to a new partner, since of course people want to put past mistakes behind them and not dwell on every bad thing they have ever done. So I'd give her a pass for wanting to cover it up , but also not ever fully trust her either. Sounds like the best solution is to date her casually while he looks for someone new. I would never give all my trust to a woman who has demonstrated betrayal like that before. I believe people can change, but only when the pain (emotional, mental anguish) of staying the same becomes greater than the pain involved with changing (humility, effort, giving up unhealthy beliefs etc). My theory is that some people with fucked up childhoods tolerate more pain because of all the pain they've experienced. As a result, the painful experiences caused by their own bad choices don't hurt enough to cause them to want to change. This could also be because of self medicating behavior (drugs, food, sexual promiscuity etc) which would numb that pain. If you let yourself feel the pain and sit in it, it becomes motivation to change. If you avoid the pain you avoid change. This woman probably hasn't felt the consequences of her choices enough. I imagine one day she will but no one will want her by that stage. We change when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.

I think the lying and concealing her past is less worrisome than the fact she cheated on her husband. You can debate the validity of concealing past information that makes you look bad to a new partner, since of course people want to put past mistakes behind them and not dwell on every bad thing they have ever done. So I'd give her a pass for wanting to cover it up , but also not ever fully trust her either. Sounds like the best solution is to date her casually while he looks for someone new. I would never give all my trust to a woman who has demonstrated betrayal like that before. Life is too short after such a long, failed marriage to give yourself over to someone who has a proven track record of cheating. Better to cut your losses and move on mentally. No need to have a huge blow-out breakup just yet. Secure better options, then act when the time is right. Think tactically. Just like women do to men all the time.

Lucky you got out in time. Women always have back-ups and back-ups to those back-ups. It's one of the main things men need to borrow from women and understand and adopt into their dating habits. I believe people can change, but only when the pain (emotional, mental anguish) of staying the same becomes greater than the pain involved with changing (humility, effort, giving up unhealthy beliefs etc). My theory is that some people with fucked up childhoods tolerate more pain because of all the pain they've experienced. As a result, the painful experiences caused by their own bad choices don't hurt enough to cause them to want to change. This could also be because of self medicating behavior (drugs, food, sexual promiscuity etc) which would numb that pain. If you let yourself feel the pain and sit in it, it becomes motivation to change. If you avoid the pain you avoid change.
This woman probably hasn't felt the consequences of her choices enough. I imagine one day she will but no one will want her by that stage. We change when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.
