Many aspects of Diana's personality are visible in this clip: the humanitarian campaigner and ambassador, the shrewd and experienced handler of the media, and the public figure mindful of her influence and her legacy.

@@davidsonofyisrael4469 Absolutely. And it’s tiresome that this myth is perpetuated . The whole land mine issue was just a a BIG International bandwagon which she chased to enhance her post divorce image , as an “ humanitarian”. That it led to the clearance and ban of the use land mines is without doubt , terrific but let’s not get carried away. As Lord Deedes himself said , it was only her death which occasioned the change. But to make a sacrificial lamb out of that would be going too far , yet again! Imo.

She could have spent the rest of her life being a sought after society figure but chose to use her fame to highlight causes like these. What do you do with your life when you have been used and discarded as a future Queen? Considering how young she was when she entered the total family, it’s remarkable what she made of her life and legacy

She stood no chance against an entitled man-child of a husband and his worldly wise mistress. She was the focus of so much love and adoration by the public that ironically eluded her in her private life. Her husband at 32 had already sowed his wild oats and was settled with his bit on the side but she was a sheltered young girl who got propelled into the world stage. Why would you expect her to be celibate and hanging around the palace when she was no longer considered relevant to her husband?

She wasn't planning the event. She was there to provide publicity in support of the Red Cross project to ban landmines. Her walk through the minefield in Angola was a publicity stunt. She was not a risk of injury. Diana was exceptionally good at gaining publicity for her assigned charities, humanitarian causes, and herself. She wanted to create an image of being a humanitarian.

Almost brings me to tears seeing this. Diana, Princess of Wales, was a powerful voice and force for good and for change, in this world. She had that charisma and presence from the get go, but it's amazing to see how she grew from the shy 19 year old 'Sloane ranger', to this more confident and determined international humanitarian activist, icon and people's princess, forging her own path with courage. A path and life, tragically cut way too short. Was her untimely death just an accident? I do not think so.

@Lindz e I admired her a lot too, and was living in London when she died, will never forget it. I've looked at all the evidence over many years and read 'The Princess Diana Conspiracy" by Alan Power. I won't get into it in great length, but there is soooo much more to it than that, volumes of evidence that point to a very well planned hit (by CIA-MI6) made to look like an accident:
Mercedes had been stolen a month before and tampered with, including her seat-belt jammed, all the security cameras into the Alma tunnel just happened not to be working that night, tunnel hosed down of all forensic evidence only a couple of hours later and re-opened, driver Henri-Paul's blood sample tampered with, several witnesses seeing highspeed motorbikes chasing them into the tunnel, not paparazzi, and then a blinding strobe light flash, took over an hour to get her to a hospital 5mins away, evidence that she was pregnant, French Doctor saw a foetus in her womb, which they covered up and then illegally embalmed her body in Paris. French authorities wouldn't let Mercedes inspect the vehicle, the white Fiat Uno involved in the crash which suspiciously disappeared, many key witnesses kept away from the inquest and threatened.....and so on and so on.
That all sound like just co-incidence, and just a tragic accident? Lots of reasons they wanted rid of her too, which I won't go into, but she was a loose cannon in many ways and a threat to the House of Windsor. Anyway, I'll leave it there.
Many books and documentaries out there on it, some which present very bias viewpoints and dismiss all evidence as mere conspiracy theory. Way too much incriminating evidence to be just 'theory'.

She knows she’s there to bring the attention of the World’s media to the land mine problem but once there she does what she can to keep the media’s focus on the issue not on her.

Diana also rightly anticipated she’d receive a LOT of criticism for getting involved with the land mines campaign. British armaments companies made and sold them, and the British Army still had permission to use them, so criticising their use was seen as criticising British business and Government policy - something members of the Royal Family may not do. I’m certain she knew exactly what was being discussed. She was not academic but she was no fool.

What planet are you on?? Diana was one of the most photographed women in the world and a fashion icon. She's right up there with Jackie O. Also like Jackie, a lot of attention was paid to her clothes. There are millions of articles about Diana's clothes. She started many fashion trends, as well. Her wedding gown was an inspiration to brides for decades. Magazines still pick apart the Royals looks and fashion sense on a daily basis. Their clothes still start trends. People listened to Diana back then, too. She was seen visiting hospices and the poor. She held a baby infected with AIDS. Things that made headlines all over the world. William and Kate focus a lot on mental health and saving the planet. There is also a focus on childhood education and well-being. They give speeches. There are always clips on t.v. and likely UA-cam. I have seen full speeches and the sound was just fine. Maybe you should pay closer attention.

Diana seems not to take herself seriously and felt that others didn’t as well. Reminds of the Peter Setilin tapes and when asked why she got involved in so many charities, she replied “ because I have nothing else to do “. I always hoped that wasn’t true but decided no matter her reason, she was doing it. She was peacefully effecting crucial change in a world where change did not usually come without a blood bath. She had the best intentions and determination to go through with her plans inspite of the danger she put herself in. She is missed and should be remembered in May of next year. Charles is pushing to have his second wife crowned as Queen no matter what. Make a point of remembering Diana's work and achievements as the Princess of Wales 25 years after her death. The costume party they are planning for these two people in their mid 70es is ridiculous and a waste of money.

are living in tents or trying to find food and warm their homes and with the prospect of a bleak icy ❄️ winter almost upon them, this
spending on the RF is disgusting. Take the money that the coronation will cost and spread it around the needy, they need to have somewhere to live, watching the Coronation of a billionaire or even a trillionaire isn’t going to fill anyones belly. Pay for your Coronation

Before her divorce, having affairs, breaking up homes and making nuisance phone calls to the wife of one man who dumped her was also how she passed the time. After her divorce, she continued to join forces with Andrew and Fergie to plot against Charles hoping that he would never be King and leak stories to the press, flaunt herself in front of TV cameras in her strange but expensive clothes and gym gear. She was also in constant conflict with her mother and brother about her boyfriends and neglect of her sons, as a woman with no direction in life other than to continually fly first class around the world on holiday and to relocate in the US, taking a break to pose occasionally for the cameras, with that look of concern on her face as she held a baby or AIDS patient or walked through an already cleared and safe former landmine and call herself a 'humanitarian'.

Sligo at the hands of the IRA - among its many painful lessons, Covid taught us that we have lost someone so precious and so special in the incomparable memory of the much-loved Princess Diana - I’ve been watching Prince Harry’s court case very closely and I’m constantly reminded of Diana’s beloved legacy being lived through her sons William & Harry
