It's 5-6 km (3-4 miles) along the parallel road to Shirataki station, so it's not the end of the world. But hat off to the Japanese, they still run rural lines which would have been closed down if they were located in other countries. Usually replaced by an inferior bus service which, in turn, is closed down a few years later...
