If you noticed the last up smash that landed was actually a read. Two interactions prior, Kept would rocket and then fair. However, this time he did rocket & noticed Gackt was trying to call out his jump for the fair. So he reset the situation again and instead of jumping, he upsmashed to call out gackt for trying to read his jump.

The ness was getting the hang of it but never adapted game 5. Villager was taking advantage of the “mashing” nature with his air lloyd stalling and ledge recovery. Idk how to beat that but i think the ness was at one point but then regressed
As a villager main, ness is my favorite matchup by far just because i can pocket his recovery lmao. I also love playing against characters who i can permanatly pocket items from (R.O.B., Diddy, K Rool, Wario). Some of the stuff villager can do is just straight up wacky
I believe kept is learning on how to change his playstyle mid-fight in this game He played very aggressive through game 1 to 4, but gackt is countering all of his moves in game 3 and 4. In game 5 at first, he is still doing his aggressive playstyle, and luckily winning one stock in 0%. But after that, gackt is making a comeback by making counter to all of his moves again. in this phase, he learns to do it, he is using his old play-style which is more safe play than aggressive. he do it until the end and gackt cant counter it and he wins spectacularly
One thing I like to do against villager is trying to occasionally batting back the rocket thing. If nothing else it throws them off a bit lol. This was exhausting to watch. I know that's how you have to play villager, and no judgement, but it looked so frustrating just chasing him the whole time.
Villager is so good for a first game win maybe two but he’s so straightforward that the more you play people the more they learn to counter him. Good on kept to keep making the most out of every mistake gackt made
@@tanmin8268 even then i find that absorbing projectiles doesn't mean anything against most projectile characters like most of the characters that have energy based projectiles go even or even beat ness lol
@@notbl1tz616 i have a pretty decent GnW and when i encounter a good villager, the bucket that deflects is essential. villager can't do much and has to approach me within my attack range
@@tanmin8268 gnw's bucket is way better in the way of dealing with projectiles than ness' magnet. ness magnet is pretty much just a movement and a combo tool most of the time
Seeing Ness’ pk fire and thunder getting pocketed and used against Ness, I see that it’s not as harmful as Lucas’ pk fire and thunder getting pocketed and used against him. Lucas’ pk fire gets charged up and kills at higher percentages.
PK Fire is less of a huge deal, although smartly Gackt avoided letting him get ground PK Fire which is a lot better vs him. But PK Thunder just murders Ness if it's used on him.
As a Villager main, Kept is my hero, he won a tournament with Villager. Something you don’t see everyday.

First time I felt bad for a ness player , such a cringe match . Whole game was cat and mouse , and the mouse wins .
This villager its so nasty, he kept spaming that and stealing the pk thunder, such a Loser way to "play" this game.
That's literally the tactic everyone uses against Ness. Deny the PK thunder so he can't recover anymore.
