Quick, simple and straightforward. Literally what every tutorial video should be.
You're aweome. I've been a Mac user for over twenty years, but learn new things from you all the time.
How did I not know this? THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can finally play a UA-cam video while using my video and photo editing software full screen. YAY!
Thanks so much! this video is so straight forward and not confusing like other tutorials!
the only UA-cam channel that really helped me.
Thanks!
❤ Ridiculously helpful!!!
I don't normally comment on UA-cam videos but seriously, thank you! Spent way too long trying to figure out how to get this to work. Sending a like your way!

3 insanely helpful tips!! The double left-click on UA-cam was particularly sneaky!!!

Hmm that was interesting, i knew there had to be some way to do this, but i just didn't know how. Thank's for sharing man 👍
One of my favourite video apps is VLC. It works like QT, with a 'float on top' option.
Thanks bunches
I must push the like button on this video. This helped me so much.
life saving hero!!!
nice tutorial, thanks for the explanation. do you know if there is any way to show controls (backward, forward) in the PIP window?
Yoooo that double right click context menu for UA-cam was totally unknown to me. I love learning stuff like that.
A very useful video tutorial today! Thank you, Gary! 👏🏻❤️
Very useful ... I had no idea UA-cam could be PiP....
you're genius
LIFESAVER
I was gonna watch your video about picture in picture, using picture in picture, but it freaked me out man.
omg picture in picture for youtube 🤩 this is the best day of my life. Can you do this with streaming services? 🤔
Try it and see. I suppose it depends on whether they support it.
I wish there was a way to do it on Twitch. You can use the pop-out player, but it doesn't stay on top and has unnecessary window borders and header. I've yet to figure it out, and I've tried both Safari and Firefox. Extra CMD+click doesn't do it either. It reminds me of AirPlay in that it seems to work when it wants to (or when the site is coded that way), not always when you wish it would.
I want to watch two streams at once on my TV. They'll either be two browser tabs (in my case chrome) or in this case youtube and chrome. They both allow picture in picture. I want to watch fullscreen with one (usually you tube or vice versa) with the other on top in the corner. Is this possible? Not full screen it is but that isn't the point, I can just play them side by side in that case, but I want my main viewing interest full screen, and my minor interest in the corner, but when I take one full screen the small screen disappears. Anything I can do? Thanks.
very good. just right click twice
Hi Gary, does picture in picture require a specific ios? Since i do not want to move on from Mojave, can I still get picture in picture?
Yes, this is newer. Why don't you want to upgrade to a newer macOS. You pay for these upgrades when you buy your Mac, why remain behind?
I ofte see my PIP safari videos getting stuck in a frame, is this a normal behavior?
In a frame? Not sure what you mean by that.
@@macmost video gets freezed or stuck, until I resize the PIP window and then it continues playing as usual
Apparently it had something to do with cache and history, I erased all data and it started working properly again
@@jo69123 Ah, ON a frame, not IN a frame. I see.
what is control click? click what?
Hold the Control key down and click on the item or object you want to get the context menu for.
Yeah how do you turn it off, I hate that shit. it never goes away it just really sucks!
There's an X button to close it, and another button there to put it back into the web page or wherever it came from.
How do I stop this annoying feature on my MacBook Pro?
Stop? If you find it annoying, just don't use it.
@@macmost It occurs automatically. How do you cut the feature from happening in the first place so that the "small picture" never appears? That annoying Picture in Picture just pops up when I simply want to move on.....
@@winstongee4505 Not sure what you mean. What are you doing exactly? Are you going to a web page? Launching an app? Something must trigger the video to appear.
unfortunately is no longer working with UA-cam...
Definitely still 100% still works.
@@macmost I don't have the option anymore. I know that I did it in the past some time ago, but the option is not showing up when I double right click ..
Nevermind, found the fix. Right click the speaker icon at the top of the search bar and then the option shows up.
@@macmost I have a MacBook Air Apple M1, Ventura 13.4. I use safari and when I tried to do Picture in Picture the second pop up options I get lists only this: Back; Reload page; Show page source; Save page as; Print page; inspect Element. I would love to be wrong...
:(
@@DArcyAlbuquerque Is the video playing? Sounds like what you get when you try it on UA-cam but you haven't started the video yet (it is just showing the thumbnail at that point, the video hasn't started).
thank you
