One of my favorite singer songwriters spanning many decades. I had so many of his records. He had tons of hit songs. "I Am, I Said", "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", "Red Red Wine", "Solitary Man", "Holly Holy", "Cracklin' Rosie", "Longfellow Serenade", "Forever In Blue Jeans", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" etc. He wrote the song "I'm A Believer" which became a big hit for the Monkees in 1966. I was privileged to see him in concert twice. He was a great showman & his live performances were memorable.
I grew up w-Neil Diamond going back to the '60's. Not only was he an amazing composer of beautiful music, but he had that very deep, rich voice. I saw him in concert & he was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! There are only 2 other singing artists who I believe had that deep richness & they were Dean Martin & Elvis. Very masculine & sensual.
Fay, I don't know how I missed this one because I love this song and I love Neil Diamond. I'm glad I came across it today. You did a fabulous job with your reaction and Daniel did a great thing in recommending this song to you. Here's to your next reaction! 🙏😊❤️
Yeah, music is a really important part in my life. It can give me strength, motivation and it often makes me creative. Even sad songs often leads me to positive thoughts. I listen to music as often it's possible: When I work, exercising, cooking food, drive my car...and it makes me feel good. So, music has a big influence on me in a positive way.
I've seen Neil Diamond in concert over 10 times and he was one of the best live performers ever. Not as good a live performer as Springsteen but close haha. In one of the shows I saw, Neil said he will never retire as long as he could still perform. Unfortunately he was forced to retire in 2018 due to being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He wrote so many hits for himself and other artists and he sold over 130 million records.

Loooove this song❤
Nice! My mom was a Neil Diamond fan and "Song Sung Blue" was one of my favorites when I was a little kid.
❤❤❤❤
he was popular in the 70s - he couldn't handle the 80s & retired
