    The "sink" you mentioned is a wood burning stove to heat up water. Found in wood burning saunas with no running water.

    Yes, ""Koskenkorva" is the most famous Finnish booze ("viina", is the term we use; it is technically not vodka, since it "only" has 38% alcohol, which is below in the required 40). The brand also has the stronger 40% version which they do call vodka, but that is not the traditional drink.

    @6:05 the belt he is wearing is called a "Helavyö" - a "hela belt" or literally "ferrule belt". It is a part of the southern ostrobothnian national costume and is usually accompanied by a puukko -knife or two.

    Those guys were indeed all musicians who decided to do comedy as well. They made all the music in the show as well. I think the sons have just inherited their father's heart disease and it's nothing more complicated than that; nothing contagious.

    15:12 That's a pot for heating water, heated with wood. Common in wood burning saunas where there's no electricity to heat up water for washing yourself.

    Attaching tins or something similar to make noise is a Finnish tradition when someone has gotten married. It is like the Anglo-Saxon sign: "Just Married", but in the form of noise.

    They just got old and bitter while wishing an ill thing for their father. Koskenkorva is one of the most well-known villages in Finland. Actually it's internationally known since the label on the bottle promotes it. Marks & Spencer sales the product in the UK: "Kekkonen explains Koskenkorva" and "Koskenkorva - Vodka from a Village". Tasting the salmiakki flavor Koskenkorva: "First Time Trying Salmiakki Koskenkorva" and "Koskenkorva Salmiakki Liqueur | Salty Liquorice Vodka Review".

    I first saw a some of these, the part without dialogue, was they were presented as some initiative for different countries to share their humor. I guess the second half continuation was made later. The other original ones part of that program were the 2 "world in flames" scetches.

    Hello bigan. I had a friend from Annan and he visited me a couples of times 25 years ago. Of course i had to treat him with sauna. It was awooden heated one.. First i noticed that to be naked was not his Cup of tea. But when throwed water on the stove he left the sauna like he was scared to death. It was brilliant. He came back and we had a laugh. I just said to him what he teached me erlier, Nea danger 😂😂 Thanks to M. Wilson

    One legendary Kummeli sketch is 'Musavisa'. It's a music competion show where participants try to guess what country the song is from. Every time different groups answers Canada even though it's nowhere near correct.😅 Songs are pretty funny too, parody songs made by the Kummeli crew. Try this one for starters:

      The original Koskenkorva Viina is basically vodka with 3 grams of added sugar per liter, so it's not an entirely pure vodka, although based on the current EU classification it is vodka.

    The old man has most likely some problems in the heart cause he taps his chest all the time. Too much vodka and hard work+ fatty food. But he is strong ...and survives...the younger guys go worse all the time. This is a comedy but also a tragedy in a way indicating the greed of the younger ones to just wait for heritage.

  • @Redfizh
    @Redfizh 6 місяців тому +7

    Yes, rural finns from 80s. Houses look poor but those are actually old, passed through generations.
    Over 100°C Sauna but I like 80°C.
    100 is more like accidental overheating.
    That sink can warm up water by burning wood. No electricity needed.
