    Found a similar or the same nativity set at a Goodwill. Paid $13 sold it for a few hundred dollars. When I looked it up, I was really surprised to see how valuable it was. I was at first thinking of putting it back. Because I didn't want it taking up room and I originally thought it was a lot less valuable.

Wiseman happy for you $$

      Up in northwest Washington it's getting crazy. Im a full time reseller and I think I do pretty well but you really gotta be good at sourcing to make it work. All boots are 19.99 even if the boots are thrashed they could be 49.99. Hats are like 6.99-19.99. Even basic sports ones start at 6.99. The base for any Nike shirts is like 9.99 goes up to 39.99 for basic lightweight Nike dri fit jacket. Couple years ago I was buying wen shampoo bottles for 2.99-3.99 selling them for 30-35. Now everytime I see the same sized wen bottles there 19.99. Thats there base price for anything down the health and beauty isle they think looks quality. 19.99 on everything. And some how they still sell it. Thrifts are super packed with people up in Pacific northwest.

    Resellers are horrible on the people who can't afford the expensive brand name items. These items are donated, and before we can get something nice we can afford, a reseller snaps it up to turn a profit. That's greedy and it's sad.

      I probably wouldn't recommend free shipping right off the bat and would suggest offering calculated shipping. Eventually, once you see certain things that you can predict the shipping on like video games, you might want to try offering free shipping on those listings and baking the cost of the shipping into the price of the item.

    • @propicker

      There is a good amount of money to be made flipping Christmas items. It really depends on the brand and such. The member's mark nativity scenes and grandeur noel are pretty popular and in demand. Also, if you can get Mr. Christmas and some Dept 56 stuff for cheap; there is money to be made on them.

    Was hoping to get your opinion. I have the opportunity to purchase a pallet that stands about 4ft tall pallet that consists of all brand new auto parts. I can’t really tell what kind of parts are on the entire pallet but I can see brake calipers, oxygen sensors, aftermarket DVD headrests, bug shields, and even an inexpensive scanner tool. I know nothing about auto parts and I know these items will be heavy to ship. I can get the entire pallet for like $250. Is this a risk you’d take? Have you sold auto parts before and how fast do they generally sell? Any help is very much appreciated.

    • @Offroad369
      @Offroad369 2 роки тому +1

      Sorry about jumping in but I would take that deal. A lot of auto parts will fit in a flat rate envelope or the usps region boxes which offer a good price for shipping. eBay also advertises auto parts availability all the time. You also have part numbers on the boxes which simplifies look up and pricing.

      Posted this as a response to someone earlier about this topic:
      I get this one every so often. So, thrift stores sell their goods to raise money for their charitable causes. When I purchase from a thrift store, I am giving them funds to go towards their charitable mission. Most of the stores I go to are in areas that people would consider well off. If only people who are less fortunate were the intended audience of these stores, they would put all of their locations in areas of need.
      One more thing to note, thrift chains like goodwill in any area with population density get so many donations, there's always new stuff going out on the floor, and there's always stuff they end up liquidating via the goodwill bins. The sheer amount of items they process through is incredible. When I buy stuff, they just put more out.

      @@propicker You could be buying something someone could use at the price they can afford. All your doing is looking to make money, and make it cost more. This has made a job for you, that's not what these places are about. That's why I stopped giving my stuff to Goodwill. Do not give me a smart answer. Hope, they wake-up and start looking things up and charge more.

      Goodwill isn't only for low-income people. If it was, they would not setup stores in well off areas. They get plenty of donations and there is always more to put out on the floor for people to buy. So much, that they put a ton of it out at the Goodwill bins. The main purpose of the goodwill stores is to sell items and then use that money to fund their charitable mission.
