Once you sell something you buy really cheap for $100s you will be hooked…….I have found a pair of game used Christian Laetner Atlanta hawks shorts at a goodwill, a 1960s bell shiny puffer jacket, a game used 1978 Baltimore orioles jersey, a 16 zone amplifier all sold over $500. I once found 26 Hermès ties for $1 each. Sold them all for over $1800. Love it!!

Very nice organized video. I am still trying to figure out selling online, but can't imagine doing it for a living. Just doing it to sell off items from family estate and make some cash on the side. Your salary would depend on items you find. You also forgot to deduct items for packaging, mailing, gas driving to stores and your time spent. Do you pay taxes on what you sell? Over $600 ebay sends out tax forms now.

For the pair, I believe so. Most likely will have to sit on them. I do have a lot of room on this item since they were like $2 for the pair with the 50% off Christmas sale.

How do you offer free shipping without knowing where it is going?...Are you using a scale at home then doing the flat rate?...postage seems to be really high to me nowadays. But I guess people still don't mind paying it. Last thing, are there any programs or apps that help you streamline once you have alot of items for sale?...Thank you in advance :)
I have a pretty rough idea of ranges of what shipping will cost by looking at an item. I would advise if you are newer to offering free shipping to do it on smaller and mid sized items to start out with. A video game doesn't cost that much more to ship to CA versus NY for me for example.
Honestly, there are transactions I may lose a dollar or two but there are some I gain a dollar or two by offering free shipping. I feel the better sell through is worth it. It is rare when shipping will actually make a transaction unprofitable. We reply mainly on ebay's store resources but do use sellhound for shoes. I'm not currently sponsored by them.

2 boxes of cards for $50? You got to be kidding. No wise buyer would EVER pay that for Christmas Cards!

Actually Hallmark cards are collectible. You can buy lower quality Cards sure but Hallmark is a high quality card. I sold a single Hallmark card for $75 once that was unused and sold a used one many times from $15-35. It's all about what a person wants to spend their money on.
I guess it’s good that unwise buyers shop on eBay then.
I agree @@jochildress5003 for it all depends on how you look at it. Maybe it's a great thing as it creates jobs for people whom need a job where they can not work traditional hours or enjoy the thrill of a find. No one says someone has to buy it but I know many are grateful for their treasure as often multiple people bid to bring it to that price which ultimately provides for People to live and support their families. It's funny, I doubt seriously if anyone found that they had a Hallmark card worth $50 and they bought it for $1 and had the opportunity to sale it for $50 would walk away because they feel like they are taking advantage. Most people would sale it and be thankful for that sale. I am always happy for and celebrate another persons success or fortune.

Have you had a returned game or CD because it's scratched or not working? I stay away from vhs and cds because of the unknown condition.
I have had it happen a handful of times. However, the vast majority of my media transactions go perfectly fine.

I would disagree. There are plenty of people flipping part time making more hourly than they do at their 9 to 5 job. It just takes hard work and consistency.

@@propicker when you go over all of your sold items going out the table is full of sold items you’re sending out they are in clear plastic bags
@@allisonmccarrick5304 right, and those have their use. First they are used to protect items from wear in storage which is a concern for any online retailer. They provide waterproofing and additional physical protection when the item is being shipped.
I am also a reseller and I don’t find it necessary to wrap my items in plastic to ship them in another bag or box You’d be surprised at how much plastic you are using if you took notice It’s just not a necessary material in what you do I’m a lover of our ocean and this hurts my soul to see Videos are getting better for sure but this one hurt
When you get our item in good shape you can recycle all the plastic you want so some seagull don’t get a headache some where.

Your goodwill is so much cheaper than ours. Ours charges almost retail for most stuff and apparently they also send all their jewelry donations to some cooperate office to sift out the expensive stuff and put it on auction.they had an old kitchen aid stand mixer for $249! And shoes for $20!

Lol your day looks like my year. Each year my year gets better. I started August 2020. last year I made three times more plus three times inventory. All the stuff I have left over is following me into the new year. I'm so excited. I never knew I could pay my property tax so easily. No pressure at all. Seriously considering starting a "Lets Go Goodwill" Facebook page to encourage people to boycott them for 3 months- 6 months to send them a firm message that we the people are not happy with the greed
Same with my thrift store in riverside California, they sort through anything that looks valuable and send it to be sold thru their online store/ebay/what have you. Shoes just for being nike brand they mark em at 30 and up lol

Check Check also isn't always 100% accurate. The good thing is eBay will authenticate them since they sold for so much iirc.

I move half of my inventory every 90 days which is a touch low but I am willing to deal with long tail items if the margins are high.

You mean like the shoes? I had sent out an offer and he accepted. That's why I showed the order afterwards and mentioned it was just shy of 500. After taxes and everything he was all in for a bit over 500.

What is your advise on how to advertise ur merchandise and how do you get followers?
Chasing followers on ebay probably isn't worth the effort. But, displaying your merch with decent pictures, good description, a title with keywords included will help to put your merchandise in the best light.
