Still waiting for you and Jason on a e-trip... lol
@@user-McGiverAhhhh… yes, I forgot that one.. Thanks for the reminder 👊🏻
Definitely you and Jason on the e-trip.
Yeah e-bike ,catch&cook 😁
@@elevatorman7750Sounds like Jason and I are going for a ride!
Urban recon on foot tip: safety vest and a clipboard, you can go damn near anywhere without being challenged 😂✌🏼
I carry a Captain Battlebox in me pocket 😂
@@FueltheFiresright on brother 😂
Exactly.
I also drive a white f150.. vest hardhat pen tape measure and clip board... amazing how many areas you can access
Just used mine today because the company I work for lost theirs and knew I carry one in my van😮
BAM SON 💥
I’m in Australia and travelling in a van. Yours be amazed how many taps require silcocks due to water saving and dumbarses that leave water running.
Thanks for posting this 👊🏻
Thanks for pointing out the lack of actual accessibility for disabled. Wheelchair user myself.
You are more than welcome! I was disappointed as that was a government building with a sign posted, parking spots and then you run into stairs! Just wrong in my opinion. Thanks for watching
Used to own a lawn maintenance company, and I can tell you a lot of times these faucets are hidden behind metal doors built into the wall
I show a few in the video 👍🏻
No...have seen no one else do this. Very good info on possibilities.
Thank you! I appreciate that 👊🏻
I used to work as a paralegal in a major city and you would be surprised how many of the high rise buildings have water available if you have one of these keys.
Awesome- thanks for posting that 👊🏻
Actually even though this is not about your electric bike I'm kind of impressed how quickly you managed to get around. Although I find it kind of humorous because you're a big guy, former military and you're here on this really great UA-cam channel and you're zipping around on that bike like a kid
Honestly the bike definitely makes you feel like a kid again! You can cover some serious ground with it too. I’ve done several videos using it- the last one I got 62 miles on one battery.. Obviously you have to be conscious of the battery usage to do that.. Overall I love my Troxus LYNX Plus and highly recommend them.. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Amazon sells those keys as a pair. The smaller one, usually black, has a triangle, slotted blade and two other shapes for other locks and such.
Yes! That is correct- two of the boxes had the triangle style lock 👍🏻
Looks like they are at commercial buildings that have landscaping. I was wondering what the outdoor water was used for, never occurred to me landscape maintenance. Thanks.
That’s my best guess estimate!
I keep 1 with my Propane adapter for my Iso stove. Funny thing is just as you did here, I went looking around town to see how many there were. Now I spot them everywhere w/o even purposefully looking. I don't think I've seen many video's on these either. Well done.
Cool! I really appreciate the kind words and positive feedback 🔥
I carried one when I was a truck driver. Sometimes it could be hard to get water. Mine was not very strong metal and cracked. You reminded me I need to get another, and that of better quality.
Roger that.. The one I have is definitely solid.. I’ve seen several online that would certainly fit the bill.. Thanks for watching!
🇦🇺😎👍I’ve just resubscribed agen , agen , agen and agen ….Thanks UA-cam!
Nice! 👊🏻
I’ve had one of these for years yet I never really bothered looking out for the spigots. Thanks for the video, it was very informative and good little lesson to watch!
Awesome! Glad you liked it- thanks for watching 👊🏻
This was a great video. I have a couple of those keys, but never saw in real time someone going out and actually using one. Thank you for doing this. I didn’t think about bring some kind of hose. I’m also considering buying an electric bike to transport water in an emergency situation. I plan to equip the bike with a couple panniers, which should get the job done. 😊
Thank you for the positive feedback! Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching 👊🏻
Don't be fooled by what looks like a lock, If it has a door covering it. Generally it's a simple square nut. All you need to open that door is a multiplier tool, grab the square nut with the pliers and turn it an pull the door open. Most commercial buildings have them.
I talked about that behind the new shopping center 👍🏻
@@FueltheFires lol, my bad for posting before finishing the video. Right after posting I heard you talking about it and thought well that will teach me about putting the cart before the horse. It was a great video and I really like your bike. Thanks .
Bottom of a water tower has a hose connection.
Good tip 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
Nice work, JJ! Looks like the SK is at least a 90% solution, if you can get past locking lids, anyway . . . but you should know that in the law, theft includes something called "conversion" -- the rightful owner has been deprived of his property rights and the thief has converted the object of his pilferage into something else, like maybe a UA-cam video!
Part of the last 10% includes sources such as underground boxes with a female fitting accepting a big brass bayonet style key valve with a hose threaded bib end -- not very compact for EDC, and probably a bit pricey even at your local landscape supply.
Well now… I have been educated.. Thank you for posting that for me.. My heart sank a bit though lol.. Glad you liked the video- thanks for the advice!
Good video. The ones you saw but didn't actually test might not have worked! Also, what did you mean about using your multi tool to open one of them?
Thanks. There were certain ones I didn’t test because of security concerns. As far as the doors are concerned, the locks aren’t as deep in the hole as the sillcock locks are.. Some can be opened with a multi tool with a Multitool while some cannot..
Thanks for the reply.
I live in the suburbs of Chicago, and they are everywhere. I never used my key, but I'm sure most of them work. Fun video. Thanks.
Cool! Thanks for watching and stay safe out there 👊🏻
Honey smack diggin'.! FFS..! Our girls actually showed us all that illegal stuff to find water, but the best one was at all gas/fuel stations. It's free & legal, shtf or not. All Public/Government buildings have fountains & all Roadhouse/Rural Stations have toilets. You might not want to poo in it but it has water hence sanitizer is compulsory. We watched one of your shorts on a knife, what is GSO.? In the meantime, Fuel the Fires.!
Glad you liked it! That’s a great tip on the gas stations, government buildings etc! I kinda look at the sillcock key as an insurance program lol.. The GSO 5.1 is a knife by the company SURVIVE! GSO stands for Guy Seiferd Original.. He’s the designer and owner of the company. They produce super high quality and robust knives. Absolutely love mine. One of the best knives I have ever used. Thanks for watching 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
Great Video ! Have one Sillcock Key and should get a couple more keys ! Also the local VA outside water faucets use "grey water", that is water that has been use from sinks and other waste water ! The "grey water " is used to water the GREEN Lawn, trees and bushes ! Must get a "key" for the SUV for the radiator or windshield washer... Do you have solar panels for your Jeep or can you charge your E-bike while driving ? tjl
Thank you! Yes, I should have mentioned that in the video, so thanks for posting this.. I brought my Grayl to demonstrate and talk about that point but failed to do so lol.. I have a portable solar generator and spare battery for the bike but that’s it at the moment..
Lmao!! On the whole beginning of your video!🤣I think if you , Jason and I hung out we would need bail money!🤣but I do carry two different sil keys on me in my mystery ranch bag I take on the road with me a lot cause I’m a trucker and there is times I can park on site and I park behind the shopping areas and I actively/ passively always am looking for those faucet areas anymore heck ya never know as a back up to my grayl also❤️. Love your videos brother.
Glad you liked it 🤣 Alright! I dig your post.. You’re definitely are a prepared minded person and you’re in good company for sure.. Thanks for the positive feedback and supporting the channel 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
Yes...like gold on the streets. A water key
On this note. Water is the most valuable resource.
I as have an attachment for mine.
When I was homeless...I learned most churches....businesses...and parks keep their water locked.
This small tool kept me andmy girl dog alive.
Thank you for highlighting this.
Get cocky…lolz. Risqué title in these woke time, brother! Haha! Told the wife a couple months ago that we need to buy a *handful* of these …
It’s all about risk vs. reward.. Hopefully we made the right decision!
What kind of a bike are you flying around on? So quiet and smooth!
Good job locating the sources!
Thanks! It’s a Troxus LYNX Plus and I LOVE IT! 👊🏻
So I'm watching the video and I'm at the point where you get over to the movie theater so if other people were to run around town like you did we could all make a simple map or even a list of all the places that have a faucet or whatever you call it that requires a sillcock key and also places that have faucets that you can just turn on without a sillcock key
This is a GREAT IDEA.. Love it 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
I like your video. I also get distracted with the bike..I like the bike
I too like the bike 😂
I have seen silcock taps at highway rest stops. If you ate on the road and the reststop is locked down like a couple of years ago.
Good tip! 👊🏻
Lot of fast food places have them.
I love the sound of steal in the morning, sounds like, victory....
😂
Hello JJ you just prove a very important point thank you very much God bless you always and stay safe outdoors
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Yeah I’ve got one in the backpack but if things go real bad and the water is not coming out of the home taps. Won’t it stop flowing out of all these spigots?
Kinda good to have in the car if you find yourself in a weird location or situation and in need of water in general. But properly a life straw for the bud out or camp bag.
Absolutely. It’s just one tool in the bag or vehicle that could help you out in a pinch. It’s certainly not a primary tool like a Grayl or stainless container for boiling 👍🏻
@@FueltheFires yeah true. Was a great video, good to see someone actually go around and show the access points
Cheers
Thanks for the drippy silcock advice and demo .
You’re welcome!
3rd grade jokes aside, CERT recommends having this sort of thing.
I’m a CERT instructor and I approve of this message- and the 3rd grade jokes 👍🏻
@@FueltheFires Outstanding. Let's hope we never need CERT. Semper paratus...
I feel like in a survival situation. People will just go inside and use the faucets. If desperate, they’ll find a way to get in.
But it’s still a good survival tactic
This is true..
I think that's a girls bike. You can tell by the way the frame is shaped. One year I rode around all summer on what I thought was a "lowrider" bike.....
I thought the same thing when I first saw them.. It’s a step through design for people with decreased mobility or injuries.. Love what Troxus is doing with their E-bikes.. This one is a Lynx Plus
👊🔥👊 Great video JJ
Thanks brother 👊🏻🔥👊🏻
I like the idea of having one but living in Michigan water is so plentiful that I can't think of scenario where a sillcock would save me or truly be helpful.
If shtf public water will be finite and go fast anyways.
Noone can monopolize water here.
Polluted water? We have a high water table thatd filter most of it for wells.
Traveling? Most buildings have free water fountains, water spickets or just go to a campground water station that are everywhere.
Alot of commercial buildings i know have ball valves on the inside of the building to cut the spicket water anyways.
It just seems like these are more of a novelty than a helpful tool. Id sincerely like to see a video made specifically on the uses and scenarios these'd be helpful in.
I suppose a big part of it is where you live.. In the area I was in I would say it’s extremely useful- in an area like your’s, probably not.
😂 Informative AND Entertaining!! Top Notch vid Sir!
Well thank ya schweetie!
You're in suburbia, so you will find faucets with knobs. In more urban areas like downtown Los Angeles, you won't find many knobs, you will need a silcock.
They are all the rage, I wonder how much water will be left four hours after the Incident.
I think having options is just smart.. One would have to get resourceful after the water gets turned off….
Ya kinda ride like a big monkey in the circus... lol. Just kidding.....
I seen a sasquach ride one of those prepper electric bikes up here in seattle.
He/she was wearing a rainbow scarf. Lol have a great day
Awesome, good to know!! Great Video 📹 😊
Thanks for watching and glad you liked it 🔥
That's such of an important tool to have during shtf that I would recommend getting 2 or 3.
Right on 👍🏻
That was a really resourceful video ,, I liked it a lot 👍👍
Schweet! Thanks for watching 👊🏻
question ... are nt 95 % of these water spigots 5/16 square ? and therefore a 5/16 square key is all you need ??
Bro you totally crack me up 🤣🤣🤣, I always carry one just because where I live they have spigots without the turnkey and management is cool with me using the key to access water, keep up the great work 👍🤙🤙🤙
Sir my silcock is none of your business.
Bahahaha 😂
The problem will be the same as at home. If the worst happens and there is no electricity, there will be no pressure in the water pipe. Therefore, there will be no water.
This is very true
Hydrostatic pressure
@@jeffersoncolledge9903 right, but pumping on higher lv need power...
Gonna need a gag real on this 😂😂
Couldn’t help myself in the beginning 😂
I've wondered if needle nose pliers work. So I can just carry my leatherman and eliminate the silcock.
It’s very hard to get the needle nose pliers in the hole
Good to have but think so many people have been using them, Ive been seeing more people just using a padlock on top of tap.
You who do be done good. Great Vid
Thanks!
a very useful video I should pick up a second one.
Thank you.. I’ve only seen videos where they only test one. I tried as many as I could to show how useful it can be.. Thanks for watching!
@@FueltheFires It was indeed useful to see them in action so thanks again.
@@Cadiangrunt99You’re welcome!
Another good one sir!
Thank you!
I bought one that is a 4-way. I might have missed it, but could you share what size is the one you’re using?
The one I’m using is a four way as well and I used three of the four in the video.. The key is 4 different sizes 1/4” 9/32” 5/16” and 11/32”.. Hope that answers your question 👍🏻
Great video, brother. It's definitely worth carrying if you don't carry a multi tool. Also, a sillcock is easier to use.
Your multi tool will work, but sometimes it takes some finesse
Right on 👊🏻

Hello JJ, can’t say we have those type of taps over here in the UK.
We have utility/silcock keys though for electrical and gas meter boxes.

Needle nose pliers work almost as well, so your multi tool is even more valuable
Respectfully. in a nuke war this advice about getting water wont be a good idea and believe me a nuclear war is coming. Very soon my advice getting ready soon. Is very smart God bless you and everyone else.
Irradiated water would be a SERIOUS problem if that were to happen.. Let’s pray that doesn’t happen and prepare for the worst while hoping for the best..

Great job buddy
Gas stations such as Wawa and Circle K (mostly the newer stores/gas stations) have sillcock accessible stations. I’ve had to use them before when servicing the underground fuel tanks.
ALSO, some of them you practically have to turn them ALL THE WAY on in order to get water 💦
I HAVE ACTUALLY used my Multitool to access the panel in order to get at the sillcock faucet inside. 😊
I love it when people post real world experience! Thank you 👊🏻🔥👊🏻

I haver mine since 1992. And i use for Open elevator Doors too
I didn’t know you could do that-very cool! I will have to look into this.. Thanks for the tip 👊🏻
In Portugal you also have access to electricity meters. we can have access to water, electricity, shelter in the doormen's rooms, elevators... this key is essential
I need one now!
Cheap insurance in my book 👍🏻
A sillcock key is a waste of time I have used a multi-tool repeatedly never once needing a silk cock key to operate the water faucets a multi-tool works every single time even if it is put on their tight the multi-tool has enough torque to grab and turn the water on
Using a multitool will damage the housing of the adapter making the use of a silcock key unusable
I have 2!
Two is one and one is none 👍🏻
