I’ve had one for 2 years now. Its good, but the onboard software is crap. Very limited streaming apps. It wont stream directly from my device to the projector, using any of the major streaming apps on my ipad, like Netflix or Amazon. Probably a licensing conflict, rather than a technical problem. You have to use a cable from the iPad to the projector, which is a pain. Solution? I’m buying a ROKU streaming stick. Plug it into the HDMI port on the back of the projector, and stream to that instead. The software just looks miles better, and it has all the streaming apps that everyone uses.

Great review , did you play around “Shadow” settings which seems to increase dark levels with better shadow details. What’s your take on the black levels of this projector ?
Thank you for the amazing review. Based on reviews on Amazon, others had complains on software side (operating system) of the projector. People had complains about not being able to install certain apps, not being able to play 4k video on Netflix and some apps crashing on them when performing movie search. Can you shed some light on how was your experience with using youtube, netflix and amazon prime video on the projector's operating system. Thanks !
I use my amazon firestick, the OS built in is an older version of Android and doesn't support 4k or HDR, newer projectors are coming out with Android 9 or 10.
Hi, What is the best projector between Epson 4010 vs viewsonic x10-4k? The Viewsonic looks like it is better, but I can't figure out why? The Epson does not have bluetooth, wifi, speakers, usb-c, is much bigger and heavier. Whit these different and about the same price, how come the epson have all these and looks even better? Thanks Hugo
I reach this videos from your top 5 I've seen another's projectors and even you said that benq have 120hz This projector have anywhere between 60 and 120hz but definitely 60 hz wich is good enough for gaming. Low imput lag help a lot and I definitely going to buy now as I don't want to spend more money on a projector. All electronics lose value every year so is not worth it to spend more than 2500 for 5 years. I prefer to spend 1200-1500 for a projector as I already spent 2000£ on a pc for the next 5 years😁 Cheers mate🥂
Does the input lag improve in game mode? If so, does it improve the more the resolution is lowered? For example, from 4K 60 ms to 1080p 30 ms. Thank you for your time.
I just "love" the lens on this here thing. It is about as big as a a penny. Maybe smaller. Imagine the optical image quality you are getting from something that ridiculously tiny. How many elements in the lens, any ideas? Is this "lens" even out of glass -- or only plastic?
Hi sir, good review! I'm interested in this model. Will the picture quality dropped off or affected if I place this projector on say 15% or 30% off set? Thank you, subscribed!
Hey joelster. I currently own an xgimi H2. Its performance is great in gaming lag. Its negligible. How much is the gaming lag in this viewsonic x10. What is the screen model you use?
Is there a noticeable difference between a cheap $300 1080p projector and a $1,400 4k/HDR projector? I'm generally someone who doesn't like to buy budget, but as someone who has never owned a projector is there a real difference between 1080p and 4K and what is the "best" beginner projector in both price ranges? I'll be projecting to a wall first and would really like a short throw.
Yes there is, if you want a good quality 1080p go for a BenQ or Optoma projector, I will be working on a new 1080p projector from BenQ soon and let you know, if you want 4k short throw, this is a great option.
Hi, I’ve enjoyed your reviews including this one. Can you please review the ViewSonic X11-4K projector? I’m desperate for a review of it. It would be great for you to compare the predecessor to the successor product especially, since you have experience with the X10-4K. Please help me; I’m trying to decide if I should buy it. In any event, have a nice day and keep up the nice work.
Thanks, I don't have this projector anymore but I'll be on the lookout for the X11 model, I have reviewed many projectors, what features are you looking for and what is your budget?
I’m looking for a short throw projector for my bedroom. Preferably one with great picture and accurate colors. An HD image is fine, however, I prefer 4K, hopefully with HDR. (Not a gamer because it becomes demoralizing after a half hour of playing.) I still would like the option to play games. I’m also considering the Espson EF12. Thank you for your quick response.
There is a color wehel inside, of course, as this is a single-chip 1DLP composite image panel. Also, 2400 lumens -- well that would be LED LUMENS, which translates only to about 900 or 950 ANSI lumens. Considering the spdcs, and the lens, this PJ is seriously overpriced at $1,500.
It should be 3 leds, e.g. red, green and blue leds, which will eliminate the need for a colour wheel which are used in concentional lamp based dlp projectors.
I know you've reviewed both the BenQ TK850 and the ViewSonic X10-4KE I'm trying to find out how these two units compare for image clarity and color depth for movies in a living room that has medium light coming into it during the day. What's your opinion on the two? Both claim to have 8 million pixels and support 2160p input, so I don't know why they're not native 4k? I have a BenQ3050 now, but it's really washed out during the day. Thanks.
Both projectors look awesome, Im more inclined with the ViewSonic, it had more picture settings, and the picture looked beautiful, also the sound is amazing plus is a short throw projector so you can use it in a smaller room, also the LED light lasts much longer than ordinary lamp.
But no optical zoom and lens-shift decentering, then It is difficult to adapt to a fixed installation. And why do you need integrated audio if you already have a 5.1 installation at home. It is a projector to be used outside the home temporarily; training courses, meeting with friends...
Hey there. Always good content . Could you give a comment about how this unit compares to the LG HU80KA? It might be the screen that makes it look so good? Ty
