Fort Wilderness would be another honorable mention for me. It’s definitely a different experience given the need for internal buses, golf carts, or bikes, but honestly, the golf cart and “looping’” is part of the fun! We don’t visit the parks as much when we stay at the Fort which puts it in its own category. I think it’s worth mentioning!
@@kristya2590 it’s hard to classify Fort Wilderness. I think I want to give people a tour of it as a separate video. It’s a Walt Disney World original, too!
We have a large family, and your lineup is right on! The Art of Animation is probably my overall favorite for kids. We love those family suites! The All-Stars as honorable mention is important- we don’t fit in anything but a suite, which means sometimes two rooms is a better deal at a value resort!
The “average” American family is usually accommodate-able in your standard room, but it’s going to be so tight it might spoil your night if you just need space from them for a little while. It can be expensive at Disney!!
Sorry to have to tell you this POP Century Resort was built first. Ait and animation was built but was abandoned after 9-11. It was originally to be an add on to POP Century however Disney changed it Art and animation Resort.
@@davidpembleton8428 thanks! I had my information backwards when I made this video, but didn’t realize it until it was posted. Hopefully the tips helped anyway!
Having stayed at both Art of Animation and Pop Century I would say that while the theming is better at AoA the value of Pop makes it the better deal. Same amenities, equal access to Skyliner, and except for the room layout (Little Mermaid wing excluded) more bang-for-the buck. We haven't stayed in a family suite yet though so our opinion could be swayed. As for Port Orleans Riverside we loved staying there, and even though it's a big resort it felt very relaxed and the boats to Disney Springs were a nice plus. Given the choice though the Skyliner would bring us back to Hourglass Lake over taking busses everywhere from POR.
Completely see why you think pop century would be better than art of animation, but I had to include the thought about the family suites… Parents having the ability to have a private bedroom, can sometimes make or break their vacation. However, I understand also, where you’re coming from about the Skyliner at the moderate resorts. However, I really do contend that Port Orleans Riverside is better than a skyliner resort, because it has the extra amenities that kids would love. I believe Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs are both rather adult-centric. However, I do very much appreciate your thoughts, they gave me something to think about!! Thank you very much!!
I think the Contemporary/Bay Lake Towers is better than the Polynesian. For younger kids, you can walk to MK from Bay Lake. Monorail to Epcot. The other 2 Parks are easy to get to too! There are lots of restaurants, gift shops and pools!
What’s your favorite family-friendly resort at Disney World!?

I want to rent a small camper and try it once! Or in the cabins!
I’d second Fort Wilderness, we loved staying in the cabins and having our own space. The kids loved the pool area and riding the golf carts around.
