I'm confused. I have seen a diagram of guanine without that NH on the lower right, having only two bonds. I can see how it would react with the benzo pyrene epoxide because the nitrogen would have an unpaired valence electron in that case. Is that nitrogen also bonded to the deoxyribose sugar (not shown)?
