I got this at retail as my first Rolex. It is awesome for a lefty. I wear it every day. Screw investment value and collectors. What adds to its charm is all the self proclaimed experts constantly whining about it. Many said it would go last year including you. I think Rolex keeps it.
*I have this watch and I wear it on my left wrist. It's so comfortable the crown never digs into your hand and it feels good to annoy people that want to see it on my right wrist*

Why would Rolex discontinue the VTNR, if it is selling why discontinue? They are more likely to expand the left hand drive range
Well me theory is the watch was introduced with a deliberate short life span in mind. Only time will tell. Rolex can sell just about anything they make. What's more important is to keep their followers on their toes!
Exactly what I was thinking. From Rolex business POV, why would they discontinue one of the more sought after product in the catalogue? Other than just being an "upside down" gmt, it's not a precious metal or have the complications of a daytona.
I feel batman will be discontinued before this since it's the oldest colour released out of the GMT line. These grey dealers just pushing scarcity of it being discontinued just to drive prices up 😂
I am not a lefty and I have one on order. I don't see why people don't like it. I think it's awesome.

this watch will never be the must-have ultra-rare Rolex simply because everyone expects it to become that. so they are stashed away in safes and down the line nice examples will keep existing. It's the stuff you don't see coming that ends up being the rare thing fetching crazy prices.

After the initial craze and hyped prices around the announcement of it being discontinued. 5 years later you still think there will be loads around? I highly doubt it. It hasn't had a long enough production run

Everyone hates on the Sprite but I think it’s cool they made a watch for left handed people.

I'm in Hong Kong right now and they won 19,000 USD for this. I think it's a cool watch I don't intend to sell for at least 5-10 years. Curious what you guys think?

The James Cameron and this Lefty 100% are future big hitters. When both get discontinued and you hold for 5 years after that period. They will be going for crazy prices.

Personally I’d stay away from hyped watches like this Sprite GMT. My guess is that 90% of the buyers for this watch are only speculators, ready to dump it as soon as it gets discontinued. My prediction is it will fall in price next year even if it gets discontinued as everyone will try and sell it.
Why is everyone predicting Rolex will discontinue this watch? It’s relatively new. It’s not Rolex’s job to make collectable items for resellers. It’s Rolex’s job to manufacture watches that will sell. 10% of the world’s population is left handed… and if you add in ambidextrous people and right handed people who don’t want a crown stabbing their wrist all day, the number is much higher. I don’t see Rolex giving up on left handed watches altogether even when they do eventually discontinue the sprite.
I like having a crown on the left when wearing on the right hand. When you are working out, it doesn’t dig into your hand. I always wondered why that’s not the norm..
Don't have to be left handed. It sits perfectly on my left wrist and the crown doesn't dig in to your hand like some of my conventional watches..

These watches represent a small niche and will have a short production life. Therefore, the quality of the watch will still lend itself to decades of usability for us, the oddball right-handed watch group! Cheers!

Over 160 of these on Chrono in the US. Less than forty 2-tone Explorers on Chrono in the US, box/papers, in-stock ready to ship. You tell me which is more rare?
There are plenty of rolexes that are not "must have historic watches", rolex has enough watches that are special, this one doesn't need to be another one of them! You don't need to hope for the brand with hopes of keeping hype and scarcity, rolex has been amazingly lucrative and doing well before the watch market hype.
I have the Batman, Rootbeer and would buy the Sprire if it wasn't LHD.

Is it as rare as we think....I don't know. I recieved mine over extending my 5 year wait for a BLNR. Personally, I wanted it for the rarity because I am more intrigued by the watches made by the brand that are not commonly seen. I agree with Paul...if they continue, it will be too long in the tooth and deminish the brand.
I really actually want one because I wear my watches on my right hand because of a vein on my left that has troubles with watches digging in ...this watch I think I can wear on both wrists 🤔

I think Rolex will choose to do exactly what they always do andleave us guessing. I has another year in it at least. That its as lw in price as its ever been isn't because it's a Sprite, its because of the general market and you can say the same about any other Rolex,. The Starbucks Sub is as low as it's been in the last few years but that doesn't mean its on its way out necessarily

My view is that it will run for another year at least, can't see it discontined after only 2years, as Rolex can sell more than they make of this model, so why would they.
