Top Draw - COVID knocked me for six as well, I noticed my HR spiking for months as a result, only now started to normalise after 5 months. I have extremely flat feet and have always been scared to try the Vibram - glad they are working for you. Cant wait to see the camper when its complete
Thanks Al, yer covid did one on me alright, so good to het out running again now 😁🏃 The Vibrams are feeling great to run in. And camper is becoming a labour of love, not sure it’s ever going to be finished 🤣 but I’m sure it will and we’ll have so really good times in it. Thanks for watch mate 👍
So good to see you back out running again Ash. I’m sure it will help in all sorts of ways mate. I really appreciate the mention in the video and the link back to my channel ☺️ I had a great day on the checkpoint at spires and shires yesterday. It feels so great to give back to the sport of trail running, and it was a good laugh too! One of the runners I saw coming through was wearing a pair of vibram 5 fingers too mate! Perhaps you should aim to run an ultra again in a pair next year? I’m certainly running spires & shires next year so if your considering it, let me know mate 🙂
Wow that’s awesome - and brave to run 35 miles in five fingers! Glad you had a good day and laughs volunteering at the Shires and Spires. I really fancy running it next year 😁 and in barefoot shoes too 👍
Hey Ash . Good to see you back out there mate. That's a long time to be off running. Sounds like COVID did a number on you. The spire ultra was indeed last weekend but it's too soon for me to enter. I'm really keen to go for it next year. Just need to stop getting niggles and put a good string of training together 👍🏻🏃♂️
Seems COVID hits everyone differently. I also got it (again) a few weeks ago, but just ran through it, because it wasn't that bad. Even got a 5K PB on the weekend when the scratchy throat & other symptoms had just started. The following 3 "easy" runs, however, were a hard 10+min/mile slow slog with a high HR, after which the home test finally tested positive as expected. Not as much gas or motivation in the tank, but ran anyway. ......... You know what probably helped (besides the vax + naturalimmunity)? Vitamin D, K2, and Zinc, for a healthy immune system!
Hi Jason, it’s strange you saying about getting your 5k PB (nice one 👍) as you were coming down with covid - I found a boost in productivity too just before getting symptoms. I wonder if it’s the bodies way of trying to ward off the virus by making our immune system fully hyped or something 🤔 I also felt really good coming out of it after weeks of feeling weak and crappy, then got a cold 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the advice on the vitamins too 👍 I’ve started taking D3 with K2 drops, and take a multi vit gummy. I’ll look into the zinc as well 👍

Looks like you are on the right track with your training and recon. Stay injury free and you’ll smash it next year matey
Great video. It's got some really good inspiration for how I can film my videos. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to the next one!!!
Thanks 🙏 good luck with your Iltra training for September 👍
