During the weekend of November 29th and 30th, Blue Comet Productions ventured, once again, into the Anthracite fields of Eastern Pennsylvania to witness two exciting events held in partnership with the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad, Project 113, and the towns of Minersville and Pottsville. On the first day, November 29th, Reading & Northern's ex-GM&N 4-6-2 #425 joins ex-Central Railroad of New Jersey 0-6-0 #113 for doubleheaded excursions between Minersville and Cressona, PA. This was a very important day, as it was the first time 113 was fully successful in steaming capability, using an approximate coal mix of 60% Bituminous and 40% Anthracite. On the second day, November 30th, Reading & Northern 425 heads to Pottsville, PA. Until this day, a steam locomotive has not operated in Pottsville since October of 1983, when George Hart operated ex-Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 #972. Now, please enjoy this exciting video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions!
This video was filmed on November 29th and 30th of 2014
Great video Chad, killer opening shot! A lot of people don't think about the synthesis of their onboard footage to their run-by's, but this one certainly nails it. You're getting a real knack for camera handling and editing because this is the best video of yours to date! There wasn't one second of boring "filler" footage. Bravo.
Thank you ever so much Eric!
That 0-6-0 sure looks she’s gonna fall off the tracks at any moment with all that’s shaking!!!
(from Canada) Thoroughly enjoyed the video, nice hearing the two distinct whistles, thanks for sharing.
Great video..my kids were on the Pottsville train.
Good video from 8 years ago
What a great production you've made here. Definitely your best to date! Awesome job!
Fantastic video!!
Bring the 113 back to NJ!!
Muchas gracias por compartir estos excelentes videos, en los cuales nos permites disfrutar de magnificas locomotoras de vapor aun en pleno funcionamiento.
Very nice.

GM&N 4-6-2 #425 and CNJ 0-6-0 #113 doubleheader.
What is that whistle on 425
5:40 9:09 or 10:27?
What was that coming off the steam engine a Sec 18:35
Yea ,Also look up the track at that sec,And you can see something else on the tracks
It was a couple of tires
slow down
too fast
Aww hell naww, not the hooter..
Ew.
I know, it needs a better whistle than a hooter like a PRR 3 Chime.
what?
