When I was a young boy, growing up, in the thumb of Michigan, their was two RR lines going through our town, Clifford Mi, The one running East, and West was the C&O the one going North, and South, was the Grand Trunk line, the C&O had diesel locomotives on it, I don't know when they stopped using steam, but the Grand Trunk line had steam up until 1959, I was eight years old, when the retired steam, it was a sad time for me, I use to watch it go through our town almost every day. When they put Diesel locomotives on, I didn't care to much about watching it any more. the Grand Trunk, ran until sometime in the late 80s, then a few years later, the picked up all the tracks as well. the C&O tracks are still their, but another rail line bought it, I don't know the name of it, and I don't know if they even run trains through their any more, I move away from their, in the early 80s.
Great job with this one! I feel like I could do so much better shooting trains up there given the weather than I could with a typical winter down here.
Central Penn Rail Productions Thanks! You got a few different ones than me - your thumbnail pic, that location - I showed up there as the train was coming and didn't have time to properly set up - so I missed that one. But you did a fantastic job.
Great video - thanks for posting! Just curious, were any grades such that CNJ 113 was needed to maintain speed, or could R&N 425 have done the trip without the second locomotive?
I MADE MY OWN "DOUBLE STEAM LOCOMOTIVES" UA-cam PLAYLIST, SO I HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY-FUTURE DAYTIME, SO I HOPE YOU RAILROAD FANS ARE JEALOUS ABOUT WHAT I CREATED IT. :-)
I love both R&N 425 & CNJ 113 to perfectly great steam locomotives for the special occasion.
Awesome double header steam!!! Both R&N425 and CNJ113 ran a awesome show!!!
Great video work, lovely scenery and atmospheric train whistles Marvelous

It's nice to see the old DL&W MU coaches in service. I road them on the Morristown line when they were still electric powered many times.
Wonderful to watch. I love the sound of a steam whistle.
Excellent Video of a by-gone era ... It sure was nice to see the CNJ 113 Up and running ... Loved the whistle on the 113 ...
Anyone else notice the cop taking a picture of the train at 1:48?
It's always amazing to watch steam when its cold out.
Cool!!! 2 steam locomotives blowing whistles on one train!!!
Magnificent sound at 4;25 and 9:50. What a lovely view at 11:45; that would make a nice Christmas card.
Great Job... as Usual!!
This was magnificent!
the average video ... you record super good, good video, really very good video !!
425's whistle sounds like C&O 2716's whistle in her Southern Railway Excursion glory days
It sure does sound like 2716 and also Frisco 1522 and T&P 610.
425 looks like the blue comet
Fantastic video Eric! Always love 425, and 113 is quickly becoming another favorite of mine, especially since it's a CNJ engine!
Amazing footage!
Excellent documentation of the runs Eric! Love the angles chosen for this video!
i rode on one of them cars down in tunkhannock a few weeks ago

Chip Allen I'll say it's a fair trade for 4501, 630, and many, many other things, lol!
Central Penn Rail Productions Eh. Maybe. :P
Was the whistle off 2102 borrowed for one of these runs?
2:10 C'mon, those box cars won't pull themselves!
Very well done!
Big Jim Video Productions Thank you, sir! Fine video you did yourself, I enjoyed the locations you got.

Wonderful!!!
Are they doing this again this year?
I bet the 0-6-0 is more powerful than the pacific.
Raymond Leggs way more
Killer video, as always!
It sure would've been nice if they had let the whistles cool off for more than 5 seconds so we could hear the engines work...
“I like trains.”
Great video - thanks for posting!

425 could have easily pulled the train by herself. These trips are just a chance to get the recently restored 113 on the road.
The cnj my favorite
Man, they've been charging whistles for an engine 425

I can't enjoy watching these fan trips because of the incessant whistle blowing. Jeez, enough already!
