Thanks for the video. Very useful. I first drained just the radiator and i only got ~3.5 liters out so i dont think you can skip the engine drain plug steps. When i drained those, i got another 3.5 liters out. I did want to mention that i found it pretty easy to open the engine drains by reaching in from the engine compartment with a ratchet and about a 6" extension. You can feel the drain and nut so that lets u put the socket on there pretty easy and then its only half a turn.

The other thing is that if you fill up your overflow reservoir, the radiator will suck any extra juice it needs out of there as it cools down. I only ran it for 15min with the rad cap off and only got in half a liter or so. Then after it cooled off, i had to top off the overflow by another half liter.

@@OutdoorTaco can’t miss with your videos. I could never locate the drain plugs on the block. Toyotas are different at least to me! Thanks for your videos!

you have massive pockets of air left in there, need to get temps up high enough for the thermostat to open, then massage the coolant hoses and slowly get the air bubbles out. Takes like 30 min. A coolant funnel kit helps keep mess to a minimum and the fluid topped off.

I'm loving you DIY videos! When will you do a Transmission fluid drain and fill video? I found other videos but I like that you summarize what multiple videos are saying all in one video

Try sheet metal lot crawl under. It’s nice and slippery.

Definitely gotta do this I've had my 2012 since 2020 so it's time to change it, I had no idea about passenger and driver drain plugs, very informative, how often does Toyota say to do this?? Awesome vid 👍🏽

Did you finish two gallons of the coolant to do this procedure?

Ugh, I can’t get the drain plug loose to get it to drain. So frustrating! I’ve given up at this point.

The engine block drain plugs? I agree those are the hardest part of this job, I think for the most part as long as you’re drained the radiator and the reservoir and recycled new coolant through the system you’ve refreshed the majority of the coolant and helped maintain the life of your engine!💪
