Just saw it on Vudu, looked so good. I’m happy Disney did this and Age Of Ultron, hopefully that means the other get the same treatment. Movies like Doctor Strange and Ant-Man would look amazing with this upgrade.
Im exactly waiting for Doctor Strange and Antman in 4k than any other Marvel films. As for Antman 4k, they intended to do 1:85:1 as it looks better on macro shots... hope Disney don't screw us up with 2:40:1.

Hey Spare Change, nice review! I have to say the reason why this Dolby Atmos track sounds great is because the original DTS 7.1 track from the Blu-ray was reference quality and not originally mix theatrically in Dolby Atmos. It's still a great news to hear that this at most track rocks, so my fingers are crossed for Age of Ultron

Sold...I'll pick up my 4k copy this afternoon. I picked up the Infinity War 4k copy yesterday, and it looked and sounded great on my 11.1 setup.
I might have to put this on my holiday list which is growing by the minute. Damn it, Shane! You're killin' me.

Can anyone verify if the 4K disc has Portuguese subtitles . The box doesn’t list but usually it does . I know the Blue ray has them .

This movie already looks amazing on Blu Ray. Hard to imagine it looking even better lol. Not sure I'm going to double dip, but may for the Atmos. Guess I'll check out prices for Black Friday.
The 4k looks absolutely amazing. Night and day with the Blu ray, and the Blu ray is good
A question for Sparechange.
I'm thinking of getting a Panasonic ub820 because it plays Dolby vision as my Pana ub900 doesn't.
But I've heard it's not worth all that money going from HDR to DV.
Apparently it's only a "small change" nothing great,a bit like switching to Dolby DTS from normal Dolby sound.
Wait for my infinity war review 😉 But I think it's totally worth it.

I have no idea what this guy's credits are but he must be on crack or something. The Dolby Atmos-track has not a very good dynamic range, LFE is also very underwhelming - sounds like DRC is turned on on the receiver.

Why would I talk about other movies when this video is about the Dolby Atmos track of "The Avengers 4k UHD"? It does have some height effects but the overall sound quality is just typical Disney. Maybe I'm just too spoiled, I watched "Man of Steel 4k UHD" last night and its Dolby Atmos track was absolutely incredible. The Avengers' audio track almost made me fall asleep.
ellekz Could be his equipment, some times if you got the right stuff it can make anything sound good. What setup ypu got if you don't mind me asking?

The Avengers (2012) was presented theatrically in 1.85:1 ratio and 1.78:1 on its home release. Avengers Infinity War was presented in 2.39:1 (or 1.90:1 in IMAX) theatrically. Not really sure how home releases of movies that contain scenes shot in IMAX can work on a tv? At an IMAX theater obviously the screen opens up during IMAX filmed scenes and you get a much taller picture (up to 26% more picture in the height) which looks awesome. But in the case of Infinity War if the entire movie was presented in 1.85:1 (full screen on a widescreen tv) you lose information to the left and right of the screen as you'd no longer be seeing the full scope ratio.
cheekster777 thats the problem with ratio bro i understand your point , the people having high quality 4k tv displays loves full screen 4k content , while the people having high quality projector wants that black bars , imax theatre have a large ratio while our come theatre have that black bar ratio ( we dont see black bars in theatre though) personally i want movies to be release in that full screen ratio but sometimes i do love that wide ratio with black bars

Don’t mind if we get small black bars at the top and bottom but just so that we get all the detail that was shown in theaters. How the movie was intended. It’s ridiculous it’s like paying money and the orginal score isn’t present or you get an alternate chopped down cut instead of the theatrical cut
They shouldn't be afraid to pillar box it. The bars would be so tiny. Not like the good old days of watching 4:3 content on 16:9. Actually I guess 1.90:1 would be a sliver of a letterbox which is even less offensive than pretending the film shot entirely in an IMAX ratio doesn't exist (yet anyway).
I paid for a 65 inch tv . I honestly think its a sales market . this will push the consumer to get a bigger and bigger tv. Full cinema screen is the best. 1st avengers movie did it right.
But is it better than the 3D version though ?
Hi, for future reviews maybe have a separate rating for the LFE? Sounds like Infinity War would get a 6 or 7, whereas something like A Quiet Place merits a 9.5 or 10 for LFE.

Saw this today the dolby atmos is still not that powerful than other sony titles. The volume still has to be raised while comparing it to titles like the dark tower, even bram stokers dracula. But you are right it is at least better than thor black panther and the last jedi.
Really? I switched back and forth between justice league. They were both equally as loud.
Justice league is way louder. -8 db for avengers = -12 db for league. Checked this on my 2 receivers aventage 2040 and denon 4300 AVH. Disney still has a lot to improve. But no doubt it is better than the past titles.

It does not officially release until next Tuesday in stores, 8/14. I recommend you getting the steelbook that Best Buy is releasing, it looks very clean.
I prefer the 3d version and I'm really looking forward to infinity war in 3d.

The blu ray is in the 1:78 aspect ratio, but for some reason the 4k blu ray is in the 1:85 aspect ratio. In the 1:85 ratio, you will still get the black bars. They're small, but there. I just don't know why they changed that. The 4k disc should be in the 1:78. But in my option, so should every other movie. I'm tired of movies being in 2:39 or whatever. We all have big wide screen tv's. The whole screen should be filled. Huge pet peeve of mine. Even in movie theaters you can tell that aspect ratio the film was shot in. Most tv shows are in 1:78. Why can't movie. Just sayin.

I agree with your verdict on the audio. while not the best atmos soundtrack out there. its a definite upgrade from black panther for sure. not sure what all the doom & gloom is over at blu-ray.com on this title's audio.

Doesn't matter how good your TV is, the format is dead. You can't get 3D on 4K TVs anyway, so why are you holding yourself back clinging to 3D?
Because I prefer a good 3D Transfer over en good 4k Transfer. For myself I find it much more immersive and it pulls me deeper into the movie :) I also love good pop ups 😍

It's enough for most people not to notice.
I thought this was suppose to fill my screen, I have the small black bars at the top and bottom of my 65 inch X900E.

Age of Ultron has full screen imax scenes in the 3D Bluray only.
After watching a actual copy of The 4K version I realise it looks too grainy. The 1080p looks more smoother. However compared to Xmen 4K the X men versions have better 4K quality.
HOPE DISNEY PUT GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 1 ON 4K BLU-RAY THAT MOVIE IS BEAUTIFUL.

Damn Shane, after fully watching I'd say you were generous for giving it a 9.2 on video quality. I have the 49X900E and maybe my sharpness is a bit high (90) but I saw a bit of grain as well as a lot of soft scenes which makes this an alright transfer for me, I expected more. The HDR is the best part for me tho along side the depth.
