From what I've seen and heard, Twitter is just one of those UA-cam comments where someone made a simple harmless comment and one jerk comes in and starts a war in the replies, but it's an entire app.

Twitter is so toxic. I just have no idea why it's so addictive. Seriously. It's one of the worst websites I've ever been on. It's full of stupid arguments, drama, and echo chambers. And yet despite that, for some reason I can't stop myself from checking it.

I didn't know how toxic the internet truly was until I started Twitter. It's an awful social media platform. I also saw someone who said they were excited for Nintendo games coming out in 2022 and most of the quote RT's were attacking them, saying stuff like "uGH yOuRe ExCiTeD fOr xBoX 360 gAmEs ThAt rUn aT 30 FpS???"

Agree my dude! Leaving Twitter definetly was for the best. Also I would be really exited for a Discord server. I've joined quite some Discord servers and they're all pretty nice and calm. There's not much toxicity on Discord and even if someone is being toxic, you can just ban them from your server.

I joined Twitter back in 2017 mainly followed game companies, artists and my favorite UA-camrs but I boycotted and left in 2020 because all it did was put me in a really bad mood.
I was already aware of people on Twitter being toxic, since I’m a fan of Five Nights at Freddy’s and therefore was made aware of the Scott Cawthon drama. Now I’m just straight up angry at those people, and now I thankfully know not to use the platform. You definitely made the right choice bud. (And also thanks for making me fully aware)
Disclaimer: This is my view of Twitter feel free to disagree but please be civil. I never used Twitter once I just go in to peek around for a but, but based off of everything I've heard. People tend to overreact with just about anything. And I am currently watching a community fall apart into oblivion because of how extreme cancel culture is on Twitter. Heck, probably having a Twitter account would probably be the most stressful thing in life and would destroy whatever sanity I have left.

People will say one lie about you and it spreads like wildfire and before you know it, it has ruined your social and career life. I've had followers unfollowing me, grabbing my profile screenshots and claiming false stuff *just* because one other person said it. Then it's a neverending snowball effect of "I heard X so X must be true". It's literal hell.
Hot take but I'm very much okay with Twitter still existing and being an active platform. It keeps the crazy people on one corner of the internet so we have the rest of it to ourselves! 😂

They banned any and all adult themed content because of the massive amount of you know what and site mods not wanting to sift through that cesspit of a mess. Which is understandable, because what sane person would want to be exposed to such things just trying to run a site? Unfortunately, as you said, this ban of adult content lead to Twitter and reddit both (as they were the only at the time alternatives that are/were adult content friendly), became toxic cesspits almost immediately after the NSFW ban exodus from Tumblr. If Twitter or reddit also ban such content we're looking at another platform being ruined by these sexually frustrated deviants that dominate Twitter and reddit with iron fists, which is much less desired to keeping the crazies to only two corners of internet while the rest of us can just live peacefully on other platforms.
I made a video all about the importance of criticism and feedback two years ago and stated those as well. I find it HILLARIOUS that the UA-camrs calling Diablo fans entitled and ungrateful for getting upset when a mobile game was announced, meanwhile those same people made a video on the "worst" Christmas gifts they got.

Yeah...i agree! Though there is some fun to be had, I've seen A LOT of the toxicity on Twitter that people have been talking about. When someone asked if people actually wanted to play the new games that came to switch online, and another person responded to it saying they were because they like trying new games(mind you they said it in a repectful way) the person who asked the question compared them wanting to try new games to them jumping into acid "just to see what would happen" in a mocking tone. Though i don't like the new additions to switch online, that was just uncalled for. Im honestly thinking about leaving myself so this really helped. Great video!
Something I see a lot (and especially in this video) is that you will get death threats for not supporting Nintendo. But in Twitter, the same pretty much happens when you do support them. There's no safe end.

In general the meta on twitter can be repetitive. Some people go on there to say a bunch of harmful things that they would never say in person. And yeah for real, most of the time you can’t really have an actual critique on things without being told something ridiculous.

I mostly use Twitter to post my art and other quick stuff. I have managed to avoid a lot of the toxicity in the few years I've been there. It's undeniable that the platform is ridden with assholes and awful hive minds , but once you learn the way they behave, I suppose it gets easier to stay away from them. Then again, I usually don't say anything that may be considered controversial so that might help too.
I don't have a Twitter account and never will. Heck, I hardly even use a Facebook account anymore unless I really have to. Social media just causes too much trouble to me.
I only made a twitter account to post about how laggy and buggy the Roblox Lil Nas X concert was, a few months later, I deleted the account. Best choice of my life.
I couldn't agree more, I also left Twitter recently for those annoying and over-the-top Nintendo fans (I used to be DG_777player). Just because I asked for a bunch of Nintendo Directs in 2020 when we were not getting any people called me ungrateful, hater, annoying and other sensitive words I'd rather not say here, added me to insulting lists titled "stupid people" or something along those lines and then insulted me for no reason when I direct messaged them to know what I did, made 4 parody accounts of me that looked just like my account (and even made some people angry with me because they thought I was the one insulting the company for ridiculous reasons), asked me to delete my twitter or kill myself, said that I ruined Cat Mario for them (for I used a Cat Mario profile picture), had memes about me, featured me in an account focused on backlashing people for saying their bad opinions of Nintendo ("Nintendo fans complaining about Nintendo") which served for cyberbullying mainly and told me that I wasn't paying attention to the pandemic when that has nothing to do with anything. Even though things calmed down recently I still felt that most people either saw me as a joke or simply hated me just because I asked for Nintendo Directs. Yes, I can see that I might've got annoying but they took it as if I was doing a crime. When I got burned out of all the backlash I turned my account restricted for a while and one of my parody accounts made an entire essay during that time to explain that I wasn't doing this for Nintendo to get better but rather for attention and other ridiculous stuff like that which is completely false when all I wanted was to get my point across to the company and nothing else, people just happened to give me attention for some reason (I even stated this multiple times). This platform takes everything to the extreme, I just want distance from it.
I'm glad you left too. My Mario Kart 9 tweet was featured on Nintendo Fans Complaining About Nintendo. Because wanting a $60 game to launch finished is "wrong" and "free updates keep players coming back".

Iam starting not to like Twitter much especially if you are a small content creator it's like you go ignored and don't feel fully supported its like only certain people get likes comments and retweets but when it comes to me not a lot of people respond they'll only respond more if I go to their post .

GameXplain is questionable for other reasons. The Pokémon stuff was REALLY bad though. Almost everyone was mad about Dexit, but one UA-camr belittled those upset and shamed them.
I've always kept my videos G-PG even before UA-cam pushed hard to get rid of edgy content. Unless you're the AVGN, swearing just makes you seem unprofessional in a video if used casual. I bleeped out the word I said because I don't want to swear, but also want to show how angry I truly was.
What makes these Nintendrones even worse is that you know they wouldn’t defend the same backwards and anti-customer practices if/ when they’re done by other companies (gaming or otherwise), but somehow it’s perfectly fine by them if it’s being done by Nintendo.

Like, one mod ( Retrospecter ) got canned because it contained NSFW content, even when the game isn't made for kids at all ( Best example is the one line in week 6 that I won't say ). And with that, I will not go deeper due to much more harsh things ( Weird people, drama, and mainly NSFW. )
I made one originally for Wario64 to get my hands on that N64 controller for Switch. I ended up staying for the deals but the app forces other topics I fell into seeing drama and arguments that went so far I thought for my mental health & sanity I stay away from it. It’s practically iFunny to me now where there is trolling. Not the place I would use Twitter for. Good thing Wario64 is on Discord now. Thanks for the video.

With Twitter, your only option is to use it as self-promotion. Too many people engage in pointless arguments and just absolutely worthless time wasters. I post my youtube content and just stick to replying other posts positively/constructively. When you understand how the platform works you just feel better. But yeah I agree demeech. Screw Twitter. 😢
All jokes aside, it was AWFUL. Somebody attempted to cancel someone by making fake homophobic tweets. It's also a defamation of character, which is actually a crime in the United States.
Have you seen what they did to the typeface and layout? Nobody wanted that update but they went ahead and did it. There's no way to change it back from the site itself, so everyone now gets an ugly layout. It's almost like they want people to leave the platform.
I guess I now see, why I don't want to make a Twitter account anymore. If I tweet something cheeky, the haters would be pissing me off. I sometimes try to be civil in making my statements, but I sometimes fail.
Another reason to avoid/limit useage of twitter is that 1. Its not as monetizeable as other social media platforms and 2. engagement rates there are LOW compared to other platforms. Most tweets just go out into the void, and I've seen people screenshot other people's or their own tweets and go viral on instagram even tho on the original platform they only got 8 likes. Its kind of a joke.
I quit twitter about six months ago but I remember this dude couldn't figure out how to get passed an invisible wall in Metroid dread and so he said that it was a bad game and people were trying to cancel him for a month.
While I agree with the video, and I’m glad you left Twitter as I did, but you did leave out the toxic part of the critics and detractors, and only talked about the toxic side of the fanbase, both sides can be toxic, and I wouldn’t ignore a toxic part of a side, because I agree with that side, also I found the indirect towards NFCAN odd, since it seemed obvious that it was an indirect towards that account, who not just posts about criticism, but complaints, and sometimes shilling, etc. Otherwise great video, Twitter sucks.

I think most fanbases get worse with size. Nintendo have a huge audience so that means more morons are attached to the property. I started my twitter account a few days ago being only interested in 3 topics, one big and two small. The big one was too toxic to stay around for me. The two small communities are really amazing though and fully worth my time. I think my main issues with Twitter is the mental gymnastics that people do to prove their points and the constant barrage of shit replies to big accounts. You covered the first point really well in this video but second point is really annoying. Just seeing the hordes of accounts replying with copypastas and pointless shit really takes away the quality of following big accounts. The worst ones though are the one that reply to everything with "ratio", who the fuck cares if a bunch of 12 y/os liked your tweet more than the original reply. In conclusion: Twitter is good as long as you dont get addicted or follow big accounts.
Nintendo's fanbase is weird to say the least. Because the Wii U flopped and was mainly only bought by Nintendo fans, the Switch is all a lot of these fanboys know. They didn't know how much better things used to be.

I think the last time Twitter was really enjoyable for a while was that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl game was announced and a LOT of people making memes based on the smash series and competitive. Just curious what are your thoughts on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl? I know it's licensed and license games, for the most part, sucked but IMO the game might be really good simply because of the devs who worked on Slap City which was a very good game for a smash clone. It's not really popular or close to Smash or other fighting games because the characters aren't memorable or recognizable, so now the devs get another chance this time with something more at least memorable and recognizable
Licensed games USED to be EXCELLENT. Games like Battle For Bikini Bottom, Simpsons Hit and Run, and underrated gems like Drawn to Life SpongeBob are great games. Movie tie in games are the ones that are usually considered the worst. Mainly because of E.T I hope the Nickelodeon fighting game is good. My expectations are low though.

As someone who has a Twitter, I try to stay off the toxicity of the site, and instead leans a little more towards the fun of it; I rarely - if not, NEVER - see any political toxicity on my timeline, and I run away from fights as fast as I can. I respect your opinion, though; despite that, I don't really see that many Nintendopes on Twitter. Even if I were to, I'd just ignore them. But who knows? Maybe things will get better in the future...

I joined Twitter back in 2017 mainly followed game companies, artists and my favorite UA-camrs but I boycotted and left in 2020 because all it did was put me in a really bad mood.
I was already aware of people on Twitter being toxic, since I’m a fan of Five Nights at Freddy’s and therefore was made aware of the Scott Cawthon drama. Now I’m just straight up angry at those people, and now I thankfully know not to use the platform. You definitely made the right choice bud. (And also thanks for making me fully aware)

I never used Twitter once I just go in to peek around for a but, but based off of everything I've heard. People tend to overreact with just about anything. And I am currently watching a community fall apart into oblivion because of how extreme cancel culture is on Twitter. Heck, probably having a Twitter account would probably be the most stressful thing in life and would destroy whatever sanity I have left.

People will say one lie about you and it spreads like wildfire and before you know it, it has ruined your social and career life. I've had followers unfollowing me, grabbing my profile screenshots and claiming false stuff *just* because one other person said it. Then it's a neverending snowball effect of "I heard X so X must be true". It's literal hell.

They banned any and all adult themed content because of the massive amount of you know what and site mods not wanting to sift through that cesspit of a mess. Which is understandable, because what sane person would want to be exposed to such things just trying to run a site?
Unfortunately, as you said, this ban of adult content lead to Twitter and reddit both (as they were the only at the time alternatives that are/were adult content friendly), became toxic cesspits almost immediately after the NSFW ban exodus from Tumblr.
If Twitter or reddit also ban such content we're looking at another platform being ruined by these sexually frustrated deviants that dominate Twitter and reddit with iron fists, which is much less desired to keeping the crazies to only two corners of internet while the rest of us can just live peacefully on other platforms.

I made a video all about the importance of criticism and feedback two years ago and stated those as well.
I find it HILLARIOUS that the UA-camrs calling Diablo fans entitled and ungrateful for getting upset when a mobile game was announced, meanwhile those same people made a video on the "worst" Christmas gifts they got.

When someone asked if people actually wanted to play the new games that came to switch online, and another person responded to it saying they were because they like trying new games(mind you they said it in a repectful way) the person who asked the question compared them wanting to try new games to them jumping into acid "just to see what would happen" in a mocking tone. Though i don't like the new additions to switch online, that was just uncalled for. Im honestly thinking about leaving myself so this really helped. Great video!

Something I see a lot (and especially in this video) is that you will get death threats for not supporting Nintendo. But in Twitter, the same pretty much happens when you do support them. There's no safe end.

In general the meta on twitter can be repetitive. Some people go on there to say a bunch of harmful things that they would never say in person. And yeah for real, most of the time you can’t really have an actual critique on things without being told something ridiculous.

I mostly use Twitter to post my art and other quick stuff. I have managed to avoid a lot of the toxicity in the few years I've been there. It's undeniable that the platform is ridden with assholes and awful hive minds , but once you learn the way they behave, I suppose it gets easier to stay away from them.
Then again, I usually don't say anything that may be considered controversial so that might help too.

I only made a twitter account to post about how laggy and buggy the Roblox Lil Nas X concert was, a few months later, I deleted the account. Best choice of my life.

I couldn't agree more, I also left Twitter recently for those annoying and over-the-top Nintendo fans (I used to be DG_777player). Just because I asked for a bunch of Nintendo Directs in 2020 when we were not getting any people called me ungrateful, hater, annoying and other sensitive words I'd rather not say here, added me to insulting lists titled "stupid people" or something along those lines and then insulted me for no reason when I direct messaged them to know what I did, made 4 parody accounts of me that looked just like my account (and even made some people angry with me because they thought I was the one insulting the company for ridiculous reasons), asked me to delete my twitter or kill myself, said that I ruined Cat Mario for them (for I used a Cat Mario profile picture), had memes about me, featured me in an account focused on backlashing people for saying their bad opinions of Nintendo ("Nintendo fans complaining about Nintendo") which served for cyberbullying mainly and told me that I wasn't paying attention to the pandemic when that has nothing to do with anything.
Even though things calmed down recently I still felt that most people either saw me as a joke or simply hated me just because I asked for Nintendo Directs. Yes, I can see that I might've got annoying but they took it as if I was doing a crime.
When I got burned out of all the backlash I turned my account restricted for a while and one of my parody accounts made an entire essay during that time to explain that I wasn't doing this for Nintendo to get better but rather for attention and other ridiculous stuff like that which is completely false when all I wanted was to get my point across to the company and nothing else, people just happened to give me attention for some reason (I even stated this multiple times).
This platform takes everything to the extreme, I just want distance from it.

My Mario Kart 9 tweet was featured on Nintendo Fans Complaining About Nintendo. Because wanting a $60 game to launch finished is "wrong" and "free updates keep players coming back".

Twitter is such a toxic platform and in all honesty I'm glad I deleted every account I had on that platform. It is the reason why I developed such severe OCD.

What makes these Nintendrones even worse is that you know they wouldn’t defend the same backwards and anti-customer practices if/ when they’re done by other companies (gaming or otherwise), but somehow it’s perfectly fine by them if it’s being done by Nintendo.

Dear, f!#$ing god that community was so toxic and terrible there, mainly from how many mods they cancelled over the dumbest s@&t. Like, one mod ( Retrospecter ) got canned because it contained NSFW content, even when the game isn't made for kids at all ( Best example is the one line in week 6 that I won't say ).
And with that, I will not go deeper due to much more harsh things ( Weird people, drama, and mainly NSFW. )

With Twitter, your only option is to use it as self-promotion. Too many people engage in pointless arguments and just absolutely worthless time wasters. Have you seen what they did to the typeface and layout? Nobody wanted that update but they went ahead and did it. There's no way to change it back from the site itself, so everyone now gets an ugly layout. It's almost like they want people to leave the platform.
I guess I now see, why I don't want to make a Twitter account anymore. If I tweet something cheeky, the haters would be pissing me off.

There is no such thing as civil discussion on Twitter. Or freedom of speech.
Another reason to avoid/limit useage of twitter is that 1. Its not as monetizeable as other social media platforms and 2. engagement rates there are LOW compared to other platforms.
Most tweets just go out into the void, and I've seen people screenshot other people's or their own tweets and go viral on instagram even tho on the original platform they only got 8 likes. Its kind of a joke.

While I agree with the video, and I’m glad you left Twitter as I did, but you did leave out the toxic part of the critics and detractors, and only talked about the toxic side of the fanbase, both sides can be toxic, and I wouldn’t ignore a toxic part of a side, because I agree with that side, also I found the indirect towards NFCAN odd, since it seemed obvious that it was an indirect towards that account, who not just posts about criticism, but complaints, and sometimes shilling, etc. Otherwise great video, Twitter sucks.

I left Twitter in June Because I was in the BABYMETAL Community I’m still a fan of the band of course but it was getting so toxic it used to be so peaceful also a lot of drama also getting bad for my health I also spoke up against things as well So I deactivated my account

I think most fanbases get worse with size. Nintendo have a huge audience so that means more morons are attached to the property.
I started my twitter account a few days ago being only interested in 3 topics, one big and two small. The big one was too toxic to stay around for me. The two small communities are really amazing though and fully worth my time.
I think my main issues with Twitter is the mental gymnastics that people do to prove their points and the constant barrage of shit replies to big accounts. You covered the first point really well in this video but second point is really annoying.
Just seeing the hordes of accounts replying with copypastas and pointless shit really takes away the quality of following big accounts. The worst ones though are the one that reply to everything with "ratio", who the fuck cares if a bunch of 12 y/os liked your tweet more than the original reply.
In conclusion: Twitter is good as long as you dont get addicted or follow big accounts.

Yeah, Twitter is toxic at times but I made friends and so do a lot of people. I think for me, I might start taking breaks off Twitter often due to how toxic it can be. I think the last time Twitter was really enjoyable for a while was that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl game was announced and a LOT of people making memes based on the smash series and competitive.
Just curious what are your thoughts on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl? I know it's licensed and license games, for the most part, sucked but IMO the game might be really good simply because of the devs who worked on Slap City which was a very good game for a smash clone. It's not really popular or close to Smash or other fighting games because the characters aren't memorable or recognizable, so now the devs get another chance this time with something more at least memorable and recognizable
Licensed games USED to be EXCELLENT. Games like Battle For Bikini Bottom, Simpsons Hit and Run, and underrated gems like Drawn to Life SpongeBob are great games. Movie tie in games are the ones that are usually considered the worst. Mainly because of E.T

As someone who has a Twitter, I try to stay off the toxicity of the site, and instead leans a little more towards the fun of it; I rarely - if not, NEVER - see any political toxicity on my timeline, and I run away from fights as fast as I can.
I respect your opinion, though; despite that, I don't really see that many Nintendopes on Twitter. Even if I were to, I'd just ignore them.
