The truth is I tell you that you are a master of model aircraft, I do not think I can make a work of art like these, from Barranquilla Colombia I congratulate you
Terrell you’re right even though I’m sure Plasmo would have installed the leading edge flaps in the correct position (TO like the flaps). I don’t want to look too picky but that’s a major mistake.
Love the back ground music . Makes modeling fun . Enjoy the hobby . It is relaxing , and insightful about the history of what the project is that you are working on . Thank you .
Nicely understated. Some planes have an aesthetic that is best expressed with an impossibility in plastic. The 104 aches to be in polished aluminum, as does the 38 and especially 51. British, French, and Russian rarely crave this aesthetic.
Brilliant work. You started on the seat and the attention to detail there was inspiring. Love your videos as you have the products listed and then the model evolves. Thank you.
The extra details you added make all the difference, very nice indeed, your better half obviously taught you well ;-) Only the second vid I've watched on this channel so far and i can't wait to view the rest Thank you to you both
Great thank you! I suggest watching Anna's challenger video, my F-14d from AMK, F-16 and Type.3 Ho-Ni tank 😁😁😁 And my old now, but all time favourite F-4 phantom (but skills not that good 😀 )
@@ScaleHangar182 I'll be watching them all, it looks like I'll have plenty of free time in the house with all this covid 19 going on, after Tuesday I'm shutting the door and keeping it shut till its all gone or I run out of food (or toilet roll) 😂 I've made sure I have plenty of models and a new bottle of glue so I don't run out while building
My dad servered on those, he said they were death traps in bad weather, his best friend died in one, cockpit flew open on the middle of a hailstorm, of the guy was nothing left he said. His squadron lost 4 of them back in the days
Dear Sir A relatively mundane subject matter brought to life by the most amazing paint job. It just goes to show what can be achieved by artestry. Well done a truly stunning result. Yours faithfully MrD53
Cool kit, I might have to pick this one up. I have an interest in Japanese jets, and this kit looks to be one of the nicer ones.Great video and equally nice build my friend. Keep them coming. 😎
When the string broke holding mine up it plumited in a virtical dive , you can't get more realistic than that for a star fighter, it was the plane that the pilot could glide further than the aircraft.
Hi Scale Hangar 182. 17:02 Is the tire deformation, due to the weight of the plane, original of the model or did you get it? If it's the second, how did you get it? Compliments for the model quality.
Amazing job! I just stumbled on your channel and haven’t read all the comments. Anyone pointed out that if the flaps are in TO position than the trailing edge flaps should be as well? I don’t want to seem too picky but that’s a major inaccuracy. I’m not a modeler but I’ve been blessed with flying that plane for almost 10 years.
The Bartsharp air brushes. Look very good and excellent price the biggest drawback would be the shipping cost that would be almost twice the price of the airbrush
This jet was considered the first lawn dart. Notoriously hard to fly because of the small surface area of the wings. You had to keep the airspeed way up just to land it. Once it got up to speed though...the bird had really long legs, lol
I enjoyed watching you build this kit as I'm currently working on a very similar Kinetic F-104G. I was wondering though, how come you didn't show your way of installing the defroster ducting on the inside of the canopy framing. That's the part I'm trying to get done right now and I swear it's about to drive me to drinking!!! Very small and fragile parts which makes them extremely difficult to handle and try to clean them up from where they were attached to the sprue. Sure could've used a little demonstration... Otherwise, it's a very good video!...
Stunning! Absolutely amazing... Now.just a clean example to show off the clean lines... Can I ask though, does the stenciling really make any difference?
It is a process called "black basing". It gives some tonal variation to the paint. It doesn't show well in video but it really adds a depth to the paint. You can vary the mottling with different colors to add even more depth. The stencils are a shortcut to the effect. There are some good tutorials on YT, Doogs Models being the most well known.
Wow. Love it. The use of the stencil to "marble" has me intrigued. When adding wire and plasticard, like in the wheel wells, are you using references or just what looks right to make it a bit busier?
Fantastic video and a wonderful job on what looks to be a great kit. By the way I’ve been looking for a full airbrush kit and I as wondering what sort of equipment you use?
Funnily enough the F104 looks exactly like I would imagine a japanese jet fighter design in the late 50's/ early 60's had they won the war. Very agressive, yet simple and basic in it's appearance.
Very nice build but....... leading and trailing edge flps must be down (or up) together 15° in takeoff position. Sorry but in the case of the model, only trailing flaps are down. That is a malfuncion well known by pilots like me. Anycase, sincerely, congratulations for this great build... Tiger18. 21st sqn. IAF
Question for you, Dawid. When doing cockpits's gauges and buttons... Would this work? Base coat in black, then the gauges and such in silver/aluminium. Decanted hairspray. Cockpit colours. Then brus with water to activate the hairspray and clean the gauges, etc and then paint with colors. It might give you a better colour on the buttons, etc... But might be too much work, so the return of investment might be a bit much.. But it could also help when weathering the rest of the cockpit too?
uhmmm.. that might work, but i think it will be too much effort actually to achieve something not too visible, id rather spend few extra quid and buy PE set for cockpit panels.
Scale Hangar 182 That's what I was thinking. Might be neat, but too small ROI. Not really worth the effort. If using the kit cockpit the dry brushing is enough... Unless doing either of those 1/24 monster sized kits from Kinetic. Was actually thinking about it after your video. :)
