New Year's Eve, Triple Black Fives in action, 44871, 45407, 45212 - Keighley & Worth Valley Railway

- On New Year's Eve 2023, The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway had Three Black Fives on its rails. 44871 and 45407 were heading from Keighley to Carnforth and the East Lancashire Railway. 45212 was running the Mince Pie specials up and down the railway. We see 45212 arrive and depart Keighley, passing 44871 on the bank as it barks up the climb. 45407 arrives from the Wensleydale Railway before it joins 44871 on a movement that we see approaching Clapham in horrid weather conditions, the complete opposite to what we had in Keighley.

Unusual to see a Black Five going that fast tender-first.

We used to see a lot of Black 5s on the Somerset and Dorset line. I often wondered when I was I was a Kid if the boiler handles were a clock and kept looking at them to see if they moved.
LOL Not the only one I used to think they were a clock too.

Why do some steam engines pull trains tender first?
The steam trains can only run around at Keighley so they pull the trains tender first from Oxenhope to Keighley and at the front from Keighley to Oxenhope.
Did they consider putting all three of them on the same train, or is that just an American over-the-top stunt sort of idea? You Brits really put us Yanks to shame with how many and the variety of steam locomotives you have in preservation. You may not have the Big Boy, but you do have quantity, and you get to run them far more often and in more places than we do.
