Enjoyed your video a lot, another great gala from K&WVR, its my local heritage line so was there myself on Thurs / Fri, thank's to all the staff for working so hard for us over 4 days...Mal
wonderfull non stop action of some wonderfully preserved locomotives Austin, been a great show this year and lots folk to see teh GWR locos, nice to see you at the Gala, cheers .
Fantastic sequence Austin - the Great Westerns look and sound amazing, and I really enjoyed the shots of the Standard on the goods, and the Coal Tank & 52044 at Mytholmes - they look and sound superb together.
Absolutely wonderful video. I really enjoyed the low-level shots. I am always pleased to see the coal tank and the ironclad at work. That start from Keighley never fails to come up with the goods!
Wonderful video. I have many good memories around this line. All being well, I will go there this summer, never mind the engines that will be running. Kind regards.
Many thanks Jean-Paul. I've always loved this line, it was the first preserved railway I visited, way back in 1969, the year after mainline steam had finished.
I know that the preserved rail industry has some challenges ahead of it - availability of coal, the maintenance of locos to run on all the lines and, of course, the needs for safer doorways on mainline passenger stock. Hopefully, the passenger stock issue won't be a killer blow to the sector. Anyway, you have great video here. Excellent audio and video footage of the impressive trains making the steep ascents up the valley with a great deal of coal, steam and, at times, a decent bit of speed. Looked like everyone has a great day, wish I could have been there.
It's true that there are many challenges ahead but remain hopeful as challenges have been faced in the past and have been overcome. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your kind comments
Excellent footage Austin, certainly lots of verity on offer. Pendennis Castle is something great as shown in your video plus the locations used. My favourite being at 7:50. Regards James. P.S what are you doing on either 18/19th May? My model railway of Rhiw Goch will be at Minffordd Station both days.
Many thanks James, great to see Pendennis but she seemed to be leaking steam quite a bit. Nothing planned for those dates in May so will try to get there
Superb work Austin, you captured the essence of the gala very nicely. Great sight and sounds especially from the double headers.
Cheers Steve, it was very enjoyable especially as it was fairly quiet at the lineside. Having the gala spread over four days helps in that respect

Austin, Superb captures and the Great Western locos certainly made their presence felt. Regards, John

I see the Castle has the usual 'Didcot disease'......leaking inside cylinder! Just the same as 2999.::send them to Tyseley and get it sorted.
