Glad I take care of my 15 Cruze has been the best car iv ever owned.
Is there anything you did in particular as far as preventative maintenance goes to keep it going? I have the same car as you
@@alexandershaffer4398 obviously change all the fluids especially the trans fluid. I replaced the coolant water outlet, the reservoir along with the water hose that connects to the water outlet and i replaced the thermostat at the same time before they broke when i was changing the coolant just cause they are all known to leak and they are plastic so they break eventually. If your car has higher miles and this hasn't been done yet, replace the valve cover with the intake manifold cause them will break if they haven't already other than normal maintenance brakes, oil, spark plugs car has been great and cheap and easy to maintain.
Same, lots of "issues" with the cruze are due to people not maintaining it. My cruze runs great
@@YouWhatMate_Official🧢
Same. I'm currently sitting at 160,000 miles and still running strong with my 2015
My Chevy Cruze 2014 230,000 still breathing healthy
Any issues? And if so what happened
Same thing happened to my mom’s 2017 Cruze. And the transmission died too 💀 crazy
My 2015 Cruze with 2030k miles on it still runs. Only thing I’ve had to replace is coolant hoses, tires breaks, battery and fluids. I’m just now at 230k miles replacing the original spark plugs as it’s running rough. Oh and this is all after hitting a deer at 55 mph with a large part of the front end missing it drove home 2hrs. I also hit a large piece of debris on the expressway. It’s been the best car I’ve ever owned and I want another soooo bad because the transmission is beginning to shift hard. On the other hand I’ve used this car many times towing 2000 lbs cross country. So yeah anyone that hates this car is nuts or not maintaining it properly. Other than some paint ships from stones and the leather on the driver seat showing wear it’s like brand new. Oh also the original brakes didn’t go bad till about 200k miles.
I'll never forget that prelude swap. I randomly watch that video still
The Prelude got wrecked. Now I’m scrapping it.
@@1970chevelle396 it's a damn shame. Great videos great mechanic.
Thanks
Just swapping it with an evo engine and rs transmission and boom I got the car I need
I rented one of these at Denver, CO to drive to Loveland, it had 23,000 +\- miles on it.
I started smelling a “candle wax” smell, and then, on the icy interstate, the coolant level alarm came on, and just in the short moments it took to try to get pulled over, an engine temp alarm came on.
I called Enterprise, and I overheard “Well there goes the last of the Cruze Fleet.”
Actually one of the best cars I’ve ever owned . Had my 2013 since new only issue was a cracked water valve made of plastic . Other than that zero issue to 122,000 miles .
Love mine. Tuned and running E85 with 105k. Still ticking. 😎 Sounds like something overheated. 🙄
I hate it when people tells u what car u shouldn’t buy. Sir you have to look after your car to make it last period
My 14 never had that issue
Im dealing with issues from my 2014 rn, have yiu had any transmission problems that haulted the rest of the car
I have same 1.4 turbo 2.81 lakh kms still running like new
Just because regular maintenance
Chevy cavaliers also ran with an ecotec and nothing but headaches
What a lemon 🍋
There definitely junk.
Just swap in a 250 hp 2 liter turbo. More reliable and a lot more fun to drive. Chevrolet should bring back the cavalier name with a 1.3L turbo 3 cylinder and have a performance model with a 2.5L inline 4 with a 7500 rpm redline and a 1.3 liter twin screw supercharger which makes over 360 HP and a mini hellcat whine.
i gotta 2011 cruze and its a good car like yeah i had issues had to get alotta shit replaced but other then that its been good to me fr lol
Guessing Valve cover and turbo had to be replaced.
@@jaysrt21 nope just valve cover turbo never been replaced
What about the 1.8 engines?
I’m not sure about the 1.8 since I haven’t worked on one yet.
What was the reason for the cracked head? Just cracked out of the blue ?
There junk. There putting very small turbo charged engines in these cars to get better emissions and fuel economy. They don’t hold up because of that.
I have a 2015 hasn’t given me any problems
🤣🤣🤣🤣 i got 130,000 miles WITH AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY ON MINES .
Was it overheated?
No it wasn’t overheated. That engine is just a bad design
I’m pretty sure it’s how you drive your vehicle I would imagine if you aren’t crazy with your vehicle, it would last a long time
Whats a chevy crows???
Chevy Cruz
Should’ve got the 1.8
What’s a crawuze? Never heard of that car
Look it up
Change your oil every 3k and stop driving if it’s overheating 🤦 🤦
The oil has nothing to do with the cylinder head cracking.
@@1970chevelle396 obviously but it helps with all the other problems people complain about
cheap car when new attracted people that probably dont have the time or funds to maintain it proper. Along wit them thinking its cheap car and the dont care.
1.4 ecotecs are well known for their shitty turbos and coolant leaking issues. Get them fixed before you do something like this. I love this engine, but you need to maintain it carefully while it's still got its bad parts on
The big 1.4 huh lol
I thought that was funny since it has such a small engine.
My cruze have a 2.0 engine 😂
*has an (goofy) 😂
@@yodead369 I am not kidding my friend
@@Aster5954 probably the diesel motor.
@@yodead369 yes bro 😌
That's because those four cylinder Motors are junk and nobody should buy them I've worked on Plenty of them and they are always crap. Worst motor ever made
I told the customer to sell it once I’m done fixing it.
I've seen plenty with 200,000 miles.
Really? I was supposed to buy in few days 1.4 ltz 2016. You think its a bad idea?
Dont do it
@@darylgutierrez8722 ty
Don't do it. I have had one for a year and I have never been so disappointed in all my life. I am a life long gm customer and this car has been nothing but trouble. Constant coolant smell even with fresh coolant and a coolant flush
This car is really fragile, if you dont take care of it, everything starts breaking
