My 1st auto was a pea green Datsun pick up. Got it in the late 70's. Looked just like yours........ except it was beat all to hell & pea green. Ran like a top. Another thing TEN STARS for no crappy musical back ground racket. Just birds.

If the body wasn't in all that bad of a shape, you could have a lot of fun sanding it down, priming it and getting ready to pick a color to paint it. Paint the underside of your truck with black rust olem paint to keep the floor boards and the underside of the bed from rusting, that is if it's still in fairly good shape, then of course engine work such as a timing belt or chain can be replaced, along with the water pump,anti freeze drained and flushed and new anti freeze mixed with water in the radiator, engine oil, filter, air filter, gas filter, while there, the mechanical fuel pump, and bran new tune up with new plugs, wires, distributer cap,rotor, points and condenser. Wouldn't hurt to bleed the brakes after you put new brakes in to. These little trucks were ment to last a long time if they were taken care of properly and treated properly to. They'll give you a lot of loyal service for a long, long time.

Had a 71 1600 521 in high school - I loved that truck. In retrospect, glad I never got in an accident, it was a tin can. But a fun tin can.

There was one of these trucks in the movie Carrie which came out in 1976, I believe was the year starring Sissy Spacic who was on the Walton's tv show at least twice. At any rate, the high school kid, Tommy Ross, drove around with a little 521 series Datsun truck in that movie. He came back in the tv show, Greatest Americial Hero.

Nice job paint the chassis of this little truck, and nice job with the paint on bedliner to. You also would want to paint the underside of the bed, the floor boards and the bottom of the cab underneath the doors as that's whare a lot of your rust sets in.
