    I was very motivated to get super fit again and overdid with sports lately ignoring the heel pain which came after the training. Did not see a doctor.
    After the competition, I wanted to take a few days off and just wanted to wait until this terrible pain went away.
    In vain, as I am on crunches now for the past whole week. The idea is not to put stress on my foot and do exercises at the same time. But until now, I do not really see a difference.
    Your video motivates me that I can still hope to run once this terrible pain goes away. Am seeing the doctor again next week for the second shock wave therapy.
    Hope I can walk without crunches soon and then can do jogging, playing soccer etc. again.

    I'm a 65 year old newly retired male pickleball player and felt a soreness under my heel develop about 6 weeks. I just ignored it not having experienced foot issues before. Well it got real bad all of a sudden where i had to stop playing. Saw my doc,,, PF he's says. "Don't get the shot" he says. Been doing the stretching, ice, ball roll, more stretching, boot. Been 2 weeks. About 50% better. Would like to get back to some limited time playing. Thoughts? And thank you for the video, one of the more informative I've seen!

    • @DocOnTheRun
      @DocOnTheRun  2 роки тому

      I agree with "Don't get the shot" It is more liekly to cause weakening of the collagen in the plantar fascia. That could lead to a rupture. ua-cam.com/video/-uKxnXfo_7w/v-deo.html

    thanks for this video. i'm 27 y/o, healthy & and have been a long distance runner for over a decade (forefoot runner!!). had VERY MILD heel pain maybe a handful of mornings over the past year, didn't know what it was. moved across the country 6 months ago and all of a sudden i couldn't run - the pain was chronic almost overnight. i saw a movement coach first who had severe PF himself and promised me fixing my posture would cure it... then two podiatrists and PT twice a week for 3 months now with no improvement at all. i now have a heel spur, and the pod told me i'd need insoles on every shoe for the rest of my life. i've been through tough times before, but not being able to run for 6 months, and having no clue when i'll be able to do even one track lap again/spending hundreds and listening to doctors who i wanted to trust, this is absolute hell, all for a stupid sounding injury that my friends laugh at because their grandmas all have it haha.
    scouring the internet relentlessly trying to learn about my feet so I can manage my own recovery... but it really sucks. appreciate the helpful info here!!!!

    I am not an md or a health professional. So please do your research before trusting me. However, against common opinions p.f. is not the inflammation. It is lack of blood supply to your foot which is located at the back of your calf. Looking at you foot only overlooks the problem immensely. 1. Adjust your pelvis to make sure it is levelled and strong. Massage your calf, this is where your blood supply pump for the foot is. 3. Spread your toes and walk on your toes. You might feel a pull in your calf but that is a sign that your pump is not working properly. 4. Sleep well and eat healthy. 5. Walk , walk and walk. Use your body. 5. Work on your feet arches. 6. Loose weight. 7. Listen to your body. It is a connected chain. 8. Stretch

    I had plantar faciatis for 6 years. I stopped at one point running for a year because i had pain walking and thought running would be worse. To my surprise after a year without running i had enough and decided to start running and prepared a 10k in 2 weeks and for some reason running hurts me less than walking(i think because i run with minimalist 0 drop shoes and dont land on heel first and walking i actually stretch more the plantar faciatis). After that i keept running. One thing to consider is that altough i do have cronic facitis, it is very mild compared to other people and that i do wear orthopedic soles for running and walking, if i dont the facitis pain get worse. Im not saying go and run but just wanted to share my experience

    Against all common opinions, plantar fasciitis is not the inflammation. It is a dead tissue because of lack of weak or no blood supply.Too much sugar can also be a culprit. Spread your toes. Train your foot slowly to increase the blood supply. Walk on your toes.Pay attention not to pronate too much. Orthotics will not fix it. Just make it lazy. Stretch and massage your calf. This is where the pump for your foot blood supply is. Good luck folks. Stay healthy.

      I think it is best to balance your activity out so that you are not suffering but not inactive either. There is a cause of your fasciitis and, if you figure it out and fix it, you can run again. It could be week foot muscles( most common reason), lack of stretching, the shoes you wear, the terrain you run on, or even your diet.

      Hi - I’ve had PF about 2 years and stopped running as plush trainers and orthotic insoles didn’t help. I cycle instead but also play 5-a-side football once a week which aggravates it terribly so…..gel heel inserts and taking anti-inflammatory medication before AND after plus the usual stretching afterwards helps me a lot. Some days I’m pain free by wearing shoes with a high arch support.
