Great video guys, well done!!! It is good for runners to better understand causes of injuries in order to prevent them from happening. It would be nice to watch a video about the nerve pains around the foot. Thanks.
Thank you for the excellent info! I think it's unfortunate that (in my experience with plantar fascia issues), there can be a gap in treatment thought between podiatrists and PTs. I first had symptoms 25 years ago, was prescribed moderately hard custom orthotics to run in (indefinitely, purchased through their office, of course) & told to do some stretches with a towel (surprise, my issues continued, & still do to this day). I have also had shockwave therapy & PRP injections, neither of which were helpful at all. Never was PT recommended for me by my podiatrist. I am a light runner, but I have very thin feet w/low volume, and definitely have issues with tightness in my calves & hamstrings. One thing you guys didn't specifically mention was increasing calf strength? My PT has mentioned that is important in dealing with plantar fascia pain.
Thank you for sharing your experience! Yes, calf strength will certainly be helpful and is important!
And hopefully the silos between professions break down and we can all collaborate better over time!
thank you for the video! If I suspect of having a PF would you recommend walking barefoot around the house or is it better to wear some slightly supportive slides (not like flip flops)?
Thoughts on massage like Hypervolt? Also, you mentioned bands…what band exercises are you suggesting?
Great video! Was wondering if you can touch on PF in relation to shoes, if there is a relationship or not. Many claim shoe geometries that limit or enhance ankle motion, so I can't help but think this affects the chain you were speaking of.
We touch on it in the full podcast. We'll likely drop a video of that later this week too if you'd like to wait for the video verison.
