I find that my teaders only really fill their cargo holds automatically when trading with high volume goods like e-cells and food. For the higher tier items they seem to only fill a little bit before returning to base since they can't find any one station that has enough to fill the hold. Given that, I normally have all of my stations peoduce their own e-cells with a trade limitation so my ships won't try to sell extra but NPCs can come to buy extra. Then I use the fastest trader I can find for the stations tenders. I'm actually curious if many fast scouts/fighters would be better at selling/buying low volume high cost goods.
I did similar testing and puplished them on egosofts german forum. The Demeter Sentinel was with the Boa the winner (m3/min). The longer the distance, Boa goes ahead, but with the smaller cargo its not so profitable. But simply every M does the job and is better than none😅. S - Kurier and Magpie Sentinel L - Shuyaku Vanguard and Sentinel
Its always good to have some indepentend results 🙂especially because they are so time-consuming and individual mistakes can happen so fast. I liked the Boa for a long time too....but someday i realized the 2x Engine/price problem.
Again thanks for your efforts, Regards, Dave B
Wouldn't a larger capacity freighter reap the advantages of reduced ware prices during purchases (and increased prices during sales)? Put simply, conducting fewer, yet larger transactions proves advantageous, as prices tend to rise when stock levels decrease and vice versa. When discussing margins, even a slight 10% variation in price can significantly impact your profits. For instance, if you purchase somethin for 100k and sell it for 110k, your profit is 10k. However, by increasing the selling price by just 10% to around 120k, you double your profit. This sensitivity underscores the importance of maximizing the prices you can achieve. Therefore, every percentage point matters greatly.
Your videos are always really helpful, i couldnt decide what to use to move energy from avarice to hatikvah, but it seems liek the demeter is probably the best choice
The Sol system is quite biased towards higher travelspeed. If you trade in the systems along the superhighway ring around the center of the universe map or other systems with highways and/or short travel distances between changes of direction, i think combat engines would pull ahead and top travel speed would become less relevant.
Honestly? I find the best M trader to always be whatever is available in the nearest wharf to the place where I want to fulfill buy orders for. After that, I just keep what I bought and let them go on wherever until I need to fill another shortage "now" and again but what's the nearest available.
Hi, I will try to make it a bit more readable this week and think about a way to make the sheets accessible. Give me a few days. My general workload is very heavy right now.
I put the link of the published googlesheet web version in the video describtion. Sadly this shows only the numbers and not the formulars in case you are interested in these. If you are interested in the hole sheet, I share it via discord. I dont like to spam links for downloads in video descriptions.
@@immi9748Nice. I'm waiting for new videos. Just idea: maybe you tried some mods for AI improvements, (e.g dynamic war), pros/cons for using such mods. I think no so much videos about this topic.
@@Olexrus Good idea with the AI mods. No I just had an extremly busy week, so I need a few more days. Next week is a bit more stressfull for me too. After that back to normal =)
What is this 2018 and release mistakes...Travel engines is ALWAYS crap. In no situation does the slow speed of engaging travel engines make up for the speed difference. In test we have shown combat engines can travel several zones in the time it takes a travel engine to get started and most of the time the AI stops the ship again several times during it's travel, so you don't get one time speed up, you get tons of them. Only a human player with some exceptional flying (I can't do it) and pre-planned travel route can a human with a travel engine ship keep it going 100% of the time after the speed up and it still need a very long race to fix the time it took to speedup. (longer than gate to gate travel, no idea why you want to fly in a random direction with no goal for long times.)
6 years ... any many changelogs later.... Go and check it out yourself. The only think i regret so far is to not use the Teladi Travel engine cause there are some speed bumps which can the teladi one handle better cause of its faster acceleration.
Thanks and greets to all of you X gamers out there :)

And if your cargo ships are slow but profitable then just add more of them right?
Thx🎉
