- This is part 3 of our backpacking/fly fishing adventure in Wyoming hoping to find some nice fish. Our main target was golden trout, but we also targeted cutthroats and some hybrids. The hike was pretty rough, but we had a blast and got into some decent fish. This is part 3 of a three part series. Thanks for tagging along. Wonderful adventure and thank you so much for sharing it with us. Golden trout are special - only a few fishermen (relatively speaking) have ever caught one! These are memories for a lifetime!
They are typically not easy to get to. I think that's one of the draws of golden trout.
Another awesome trip and snow on the ground too.Good to be out and enjoy the dau and catch a fish or two.Tight lines, thanks and thumbs up too,, Tony.
It was a fun trip. I look forward to going after golden trout each year 👍
Incredible fish, gorgeous scenery - seems like a little slice of heaven! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
It was fun trip overall. I look forward to the golden trips every year.
Love the chunky tanks! Awesome stuff! 👌 😊
Have to love the chunks--especially the golden chunks.
Wow.... I’ve not seen awesome lakes like that. Crazy holders and snow. Those fish are so colorful... way to endure the insane weather for another adventure time... glad y’all are safe and got some except the one bust lake....
There were a few mishaps along the way but overall, it was a pretty successful trip.
Heck of a trip!
Words of wisdom from
Colton Atkinson 👍😁
This is awesome trip. incredible fish my friend..
Thank you 👍

Thanks 👍 It was a fun trip
Your motivation is off the charts. It takes a "lot" of effort to get to the Goldens in the Winds! Thank you so much for sharing. Excellent video.
Not every golden lake is hard to get to, but they are often the highest lakes in what ever drainage. One things for sure---they don't live in ugly places.
The weather has been against you this year. You fought for every fish.
Yeah, I have had to deal with some weather this year. I lucked out with the weather until late July and then the luck changed haha
Nice even more adventure time!
Keep up the good work.
There's always time for more adventure time 😁
The only fish I want to catch more than a chunky lake Golden is a creek Golden because they are even prettier.
The small stream goldens are definitely the prettiest. However, even the stream dwellers typically lose the brilliant coloration when they get big
I miss goldens...
Yeah, the season goes by too fast 🤨
Those fish were truly gorgeous. You say that the goldens are fighters. How do they compare to brooks in that department?
They are pretty comparable -- especially the bigger fish with shoulders. We have caught quite a few that we thought were bigger fish before they came into view
This has been an awesome series! Also, would you have any interest in being interviewed by a local Utah periodical about this youtube channel? Is there a way to contact you professionally?
You can message me on Instagram at trouthowler. I don't how interesting that interview would be though--- "I do fishing videos on UA-cam--the end" haha
Anymore trips in the Uintas this season or just the three?
I made it up Uintas 6 times over the summer. Im working on a video for one of those trips right now. There wont be a video for one of those trips as well as one from Boulder due to a memory card malfunction
A fine trip! Any idea how mile total miles you marched for the whole thing?
Gorgeous fish too.
I'm not sure how many miles in total---quite a few! You would probably be crazy enough to pack your tube in that far.
Pretty big scud imitation. I have never anything that big. Do they work better with the bigger flies?
Not necessarily. The orange scud in a size 8 is a great attractor pattern though.
