Defamation in the US is incredibly tedious. You need to demonstrate that what was said about you were falsehoods asserted as truths, not opinions. Also you need to demonstrate that you were actually defamed, meaning you can show the statements made against you actually damaged your status and fame. Did his subscriber count go down? Can he prove his subscriber base went down because of the statements? Is his business demonstrably affected in anyway? Very difficult.
He would get all he needs from these frauds to make his project 30x times what the sequel trilogy is.
I saw A New Hope in theater when I was 7 years old and it changed my life. Thanks for keeping the heart of Star Wars alive. It’s not about gender it’s about good characters and stories.

I agree, but the way libel laws are written you have to be able to prove a direct, monetary impact to your business or personal life. Unless he loses his channel, or has a serious impact to his life that he can directly link to that article, a court will not take the case. Additionally, these sleezy asshole "journalists" put "Op/Ed" on their articles so they weasel out of any livability by saying the article is just an opinion piece and not based on facts.
Perhaps, but he also misrepresented the context of at least one of the quotes from Charmain-Oboid, which was a little naughty (perhaps he has since corrected himself), so I guess it's a little taste of the medicine he has been quite bitterly dishing out to many 'targets' related to SW, be it Johnson, Kennedy, Chow, or certain characters he throws strops about. It's a pity he has become a shill for anything Filloni related, and a kneejerk reactionary doom-monger for everything else.

Star Wars became mainstream again with the sequels. Something it hasn't been since the 70's and 80's. It's actually cool now to like Star Wars. Star Wars movies were never good, except two of the original trilogy and Rogue one. The Clone Wars, Bad Batch and Mandolorian are bangers though.

The sequel trilogy fans are one of the big reasons why I drifted away from star wars content and more over to Dune and Star Trek. So props to you for staying as passionate about Star Wars as you are. The people trying to cancel you have probably never been told no in their lives.
Star Wars theory taught me women are crucial to Star Wars like, Marcia Lou Lucas shaped the cinematography of the first three. Princess Leia has no force powers like Luke and Vader but brings so much to the trilogy. Star Wars theory has always been pushing the advancement of women and good story telling. One thing I do admit though is if you write a bad story male or female Star Wars theory will let you have it!
I’m tired of these media companies lying about the fandom. We were never mad that the lead was a female, we were mad about how she was written. Which was, in a word, terribly.
(And how Finn’s storyline was tossed in the garbage, but that’s for another day).
Meanwhile they ignore Princess Leia, easily the greatest strong female character of all time, to come out of Hollywood. Nobody told George Lucas to be woke, so his contributions to strong female characters don't count, because she wasn't either oppressed, or lecturing everyone around her, for being misogynists. Heaven forbid a movie portray the way things should be, rather than attacking the way things are.
Finn could have been such an awesome character. He had such potential in his backstory that he would've made an awesome Jedi and would've potentially had some of the best emotional conflict in the series (like a feeling of conflict against fighting the order he used to serve or a feeling of guilt for everything he has done, the possibilities are endless really). Instead, they had to try to copy A New Hope and bring in some poor orphan from a desert planet to fill in for Luke Skywalker, a position no other character could've really filled other than Luke himself. They set Rey up for failure by trying to make her the next Luke, and they set Finn up for failure by relegating him to a side character.
And mad about how they made legacy characters (including leia) look like buffoons. Apparently you are awful humans if you don’t like corporate disasters

I know that the odds are that you’re never going to read this, and it won’t change anything anyone thinks, but I’m still going to write it because I think it’s important to be said.
I have been a fan of yours forever. I got into Star Wars as a young girl, and I’ve pretty much grown up with this channel. When I saw all of the discourse on what happened, I figured that before I judged I’d check out what you had to say on the issue. I’ve watched both videos on your opinions with the issue and I’m just upset. I don’t like the sequel trilogy, and I’ve never had any issues with you disliking the sequel trilogy. What I do have an issue with is you using your large platform to perpetuate an issue that’s so wide-spread in the Star Wars community. You’re right. You never said that “women don’t belong in Star Wars.” But what you have been implying as of recently has been harmful nonetheless.
Firstly, to address what you said in this video before anything else; about a woman shaping Star Wars vs a man. I’d like to point out that Star Wars has always been shaped by a man. That’s a fact. The leads in the og trilogy and the prequel trilogy (which is my fav one, btw) are men. And don’t try and throw Padme and Leia at me, I love them, and they are certainly strong female characters, but the issue with them is that they are only used to progress the men’s plot. They are constantly sexualized and objectified throughout the story, and I’m saying this as someone who is a HUGE Padme fan. Like she’s my second favorite character next to Ahsoka.
And you’re wrong; a lot of fans have had issues with the Ahsoka show. I’ve seen more criticism than I can count, and criticism is fine when it makes sense. And now we’ve reached another big issue: women in Star Wars cannot exist and challenge the men. It will not be accepted by a good portion of the fandom. It just feels like, to me and a lot of other people out there, that you are pandering to that more harmful side of Star Wars. Which sucks.
I don’t like Rey that much. I absolutely despise The Last Jedi as a movie. But what Rey does that is so important is that she exists. She may be poorly written and have so many issues in her story, but she exists and she challenges that normal Star Wars belief that women only exist to further the men.
You didn’t have to say all of that. I was just fine with you critiquing Rey and the sequels because I agreed with it. It was poor writing. But there is a difference between critiquing Rey and what has gone down the past few weeks.
I’m not even going to get into the podcast side of things, because I don’t know how to put into writing how I feel about it. So I’m just gonna move aside from it only say one or two things. It was very upsetting to hear that Star Wars was ‘just a man’s thing,’ because that’s what I’ve been fighting against ever since I became a Star wars fan. It’s so hard to be taken seriously as a woman in the fandom; truthfully, in any major comic fandom. It’s so hard to be taken seriously. And to hear one of the guests on one of my favorite creator’s channels? It was actually really sad.
So, bottom line, I’m not calling you a misogynist, or saying that you’re sexist or anything. I’m not trying to attack or be mean, I just am trying to say (or write) what I’m thinking. Take this as that burger at a restaurant that you were talking about at the end of the video.

Disney has not created this... modern public discourse, widely accessed public access to the internet, and the general fact that anyone may have an opinion without being challenged face to face has caused this. It’s Hollywood where it no longer runs on decent movies and information, but drama, the twisting of facts, and the ruining of things that were amazing. It’s honestly quite scary how someone can make something up, or take something out of context about a person, and most people will just believe it. I recommend not saying “I’ve had enough” when you clearly never actually quit. You tend to say this a lot (or something similar) but you keep going.
But I do agree you should do one of two things:
1. Call them up and demand they set the record straight.
2. Sue them for defamation.
All fans of Star Wars know that Marcia Lucas, a woman, was the initial co. creator and editor of Star Wars alongside her husband, and naturally she liked Star Wars. Marcia Lucas recently said that the sequels have been made by people who clearly do not understand Star Wars.
I also liked and understood the original Star Wars IV - VI since I watched the first episodes on a Betamax video cassette player as a 4 - 6 year old girl.. A long time ago...
I have on the other hand no love for or understanding of the Disney sequels. Only the Mandalorian, Andor and Obi Wan spin offs, as well as some fan fiction movies and fan edits have been interesting to watch after I - III... If this article is peddling lies, or manipulating the narrative, to paint you in a bad light, then it's time to call a lawyer.
Email them, tell them to change it, and send them both this and that video link. Email them about everything they got wrong. Tell them at the end, if they do not change it, they will be talking to someone else, and that they have 24 hours to do so. If they fail to do so. Have your lawyer make contact with them next, and begin to get ready for potentially suing them for defamation. This is something I recommend any and all do, when it comes to these media outlets. The more lawsuits they have against them, the more their credibility goes down, and the more likely they are to collapse, cause you are not the only one they do this to.
I’d skip trying to communicate with them yourself just get the lawyer involved immediately. There’s no sense in trying to be rational or cordial with these media companies.

My whole point is being fair and just in my approach, because despite how I feel about something, I still should approach things in a fair and just manner. More than likely they would not get it done fast enough, and well, ego is everything to these fools. They clearly don't take him seriously, and they clearly wouldn't take the communication seriously. Just depends on who. Either way, I would seek legal council first.
Something to think about, and also something that could possibly come up would be, did you contact them, and ask them to correct themselves, and give them ample time to do so. If not, that could work against you in the long run. Which is another reason to take that Fair and Just approach. When you do, and you send a nonthreatening, polite email, call, etc. and yo u give them say 24 hours (which for anything web based should be ample enough time to make a correction.) You cover that base. Looks better on you as the Plaintiff, and makes you look much more level headed, rather than simply having an emotional reaction. Just saying.
A defamation lawsuit for this makes no financial sense for him, at least not over this article. This article won't impact him financially as much as the legal fees.
Telling someone to spend thousands of dollars on legal fees to sue someone for lying or stretching the truth out of context is a lot easier said than done. Some would say that it would be a complete waste of time. Yeah I'm sure he's upset that his name is being ran through the mud, but I wouldn't want to spend all that money just to sue someone because they tried to make me look bad. Let someone else ruin their reputation, it's not Theory's responsibility to do that, he has a life and like he said, he's saving up for his fan series.

I'm an "old school" Star Wars fan, born after the OT came out but watched the Prequels as a teen, I appreciate what you are doing for Star Wars.
