This finale was so somber and heartbreaking man. Eve's repeated line of "you don't deserve this" really rips me, because not only is Mark probably thinking about how he just ended things with Amber, but is also thinking about everything he's been through. He feels like he's losing his grip on his own humanity, he probably feels that he's becoming the worst parts of his father.
This man really doesn't deserve any of this trauma, but not only that, he has faced more trauma than most can fathom. 😕
The zombie dimension was kinda poetic since Invincible's voice actor was a big character in The Walking Dead (Glenn)
Also the writer of the walking dead comics was also the writer of the invincible comics

two things I noticed upon rewatching the episode: 1. not only does Mark and Debbie have the same black eyes but so does Omniman, showing that them as a family are all taking similar beatings lately
2. You two did point out how Nolan and Mark are going through interesting developments, where Nolan discovers his humanity and Mark is discovering his murderous rage. One thing I noticed in this episode is when Nolan says " Oh let the boy have some peace, hasn't he already been through enough?", in conjunction with Mark being the most lost and confused he has ever been, Nolan is the only person who truly understands Mark in his current situation, because he has literally been there done that. And it's just interesting seeing the parallels between father and son. Very cool stuff

Angstrom said the most important thing. He said..."Your brother, I've never encountered him in any other dimension."
That's because in every other dimension Mark joins his father and turns evil. This dimension was the only one where Mark defied Omni-Man causing Omni-Man to flee Earth and conceive Oliver. Oliver only exists here because Mark is only good here.
And did you notice that Kate's costume said zero. We've never seen anything less than 1 on her costume before.

There are a lot more variables than just Mark defying his father. For Oliver to be born the Debbie, Mark and Nolan of this universe all have to be unique.
This is not the only dimension where mark is good. He is bad in "most" dimenstions.

For me, it's the fact that Mark was 17 when his powers developed. As a human hybrid Nolan even said he's pretty much full viltrimite. Oliver is from a "lesser species"... so his DNA is less viltrimite. So even if he got powers early from being part thraxin, he would still be a kid at least before the powers show up. Like 5 or 6 yo in development.
@@ukybathat’s true what you said about thraxans being a lesser or weaker species but they also age much faster so it’s possible Oliver gets his viltrumite powers faster than Mark did. Especially since it would be boring if it took Oliver as long, like either he ages super fast up to Marks age then gets powers or he gets them younger than Mark did imo
@@nickshad6665 that's why I said only 5 or 6 years old. Not 17. I'm saying it will be faster than mark, but not nearly as fast as people are expecting. Just like mark was pretty much just human until his viltrimite DNA finally kicked into overdrive; Oliver will have it much faster, but in thraxin time. I'd say like 3 or 4 times faster than mark. Just story-wise. Cause then he can actually communicate and utilize his abilities in a way that won't result in Oliver having to be shipped to a facility so he doesn't accidentally destroy someone.

On one hand, Angstrom had gone insane and wasn't gonna stop, so he had to go. On the other hand, he "won" because he claimed was that Mark was a killer in every dimension, and indeed even the only "good" Mark killed because Angstrom pushed him enough. If you kill once and it's justified, why wouldn't you kill again and again and say it's justified every time?
Right. Omni-Man, who murdered thousands and beat Mark within an inch of his life is on a path to redemption, but Angstrom, who rightfully hates Mark, breaks his mom’s arm and deserves death? It’s all a very grey area
@@yaboytroy357 Angstrom rightfully hates every Mark except for the one he was out to kill. He chose to go for the only one who hadn't committed genocide, who stood up to his genocidal father and almost died for it, and who offered his life to Angstrom so he'd leave Mark's family alone. That's the Mark he's trying to hurt. That's the Mark he "rightfully" hates.

All I’m saying is that there’s quite a gray area between forgiving the genocidal dad and killing the vengeful guy you’ve barely ever met before. Like one has committed WAY more crimes than the other, but at the same time, the other one was threatening people you love directly.
oliver is a toddler viltimites dont get their powers till they are in their teenage years. in season one nolan tells mark "even the latest of bloomers get their powers on their 18th birthday"

People wanted that "Gohan" moment, where the least likely person becomes the deus ex machina that saves the day. Its cool, I wanted the same thing the first time I read this. :)

I'm not sure if you guys noticed but during that memory montage when mark is flying, he is going outrageously fast, much, much faster than he has ever gone before. I would even say faster than any viltrimte has ever gone in the earth's atmopshere, at least faster than anything than Cecil has been able to track. I think Omniman was going faster when he destroyed the Thraxans in S1 but its probably pretty close. With the details of the colors around mark changing as he picks up speed I think were either seeing him go fast enough to bend light or he has some hidden power that he is only just breifly tapping into in a moment of deep emotional distress or maybe both. Either way I'm excited as hell for season 3. The creators said every episode is going to feel like a finalie.

Viltrumites don't get stronger with anger, in fact its said they become weaker due to losing control of their powers. however by marks own admission he has been holding back, constantly and likely at least partially subconsciously. this is showing he is capable of more.

@@speedy01247 Mark has been shown to be different than ther VIltrumites though. Superior in ways not show yet. His human adrenaline has been shown to give him massive boasts in fights multiple times already.

Yeah! There are very few series with that can match intricate story layer and complexity. I've watched it more than three times and still find fascinating perspectives every time.
I'd watch the hell out of a Dark reaction, I've watched that show three times and it still bends my brain in ways I thought impossible

The fact that EVERY other mark from every other universe turns evil is insane too me, I kinda get why he hates mark to much, and he has the pain of EVERY version of himself that mark killed/tortured, this show doesn't miss holy moly 😂

How Mark justifies and handles the fact that he killed someone is what makes him different from his Dad. Nowlan wouldn't have even blinked after killing someone, much less have any sort of remorse, and that's what makes Mark drastically different from OmniMan😤😌

One last comment, all reaction videos expect Oliver to get his powers, Nolan in season one knew and expected marks powers to come at about 17 to 18. He said that. Oliver ages faster but he's clearly not 18 in his own right. No super babies
He absolutely had to kill him. Dude was trying to hurt his family and was actively attacking Mark.
He didn't have to kill him, he could have stopped, he could have crippled him. Killing him was honestly the safest and best choice though, unfortunately.
True. Mark had no choice. Keeping him alive means, he would simply imprison Mark to another dimension as soon as he realizes he isn't strong enough to beat Mark. Then, he'd do whatever he wants to his family.
Mark should have just killed him on his earth as soon as he fly him out of his house.

The characters in this show have some Gandalf level lines of wisdom. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is, I like the show more than the walking dead visual novel even. What I’ve heard from people who know the comic book is that season 3 is going to be 🔥 🔥 🔥
How did future guardians survive the viltrumites and all that ? Surely they wouldn’t have been alive 20 years in the future if mark wasn’t around to help fight
They was probz fighting the viltrumites from the shadows or they enjoy them that how they had the technology to time travel

According to Comic Vine, no Viltrumite is ever stated to pass the mark of 100,000 years old. To make calculations simple, let's equate 80,000 years Viltrimite life span to 80 years Human life span.
Applying the ratio of a Vitrumite living to 80,000 years and a human living to 80 years.
80,000 yrs / 80 yrs = a factor of 1,000
Same factor ratio by human standards - 80 years / 1,000 = 0.08 year
Since 1 year = 365 days
0.08 x 365 days = 29.2 days
So 80 years to a Viltrumite feels approximately like 29.2 days to a human. Debbie was already an adult when Nolan met her. He spent 20 years on Earth = feeling like 7.3 days to a Viltrimite. The rest of Debbie's life would be approximately 40 years which feels like 14.6 more days for Nolan. It was Debbie's short lifespan that once made her feel more like a "pet" to Nolan.

Episode 8, to me, the way it ended, seemed like the end of a chapter. I loved it. Still think season 1 was better overall, but not by much at all. They're both great. And damn it I want to buy this show on Blu-ray.

Mark's obsession with controlling his anger makes no sense - Nolan already tod him he needs to learn the exact opposite and stop restraining himself, because that's the only way he has any chance of eating even a single Viltrumite - and that was proven on the insect world when he finally let rip and had success against a Viltrumite.
Well I disagree. He doesn't want to be like his father, whom he sees as someone who cannot control his emotions (anger being one of them).
Also, as someone who is basically as strong as a god compared to humans, Mark being unable to control his anger could result in countless dead, including people he cares about. So it makes perfect sense.

I hate that they didnt include that part of their fight. Not cause i want to see that, that is a horrible thing to see. I feel that thing was a crucial part of marks progression/ character development. He has gotten his ass beat hundreds of times and he still didnt and will not stop trying to protect people and fight his enemies. But what Anissa did, he tried to get away from her, that thing traumatized him, and I believe it was crucial for mark to have experienced that so he will understand he is vulnerable to his enemies and he cant recover from all his fights.
P.S. Tried to be vague about it cause it is a very sensitive topic and who knows the writers of the show might decide to deviate from the order of events the comic books set and we get a rematch between Mark and Anissa, and get this thing, so also kind of to avoid potential spoilers or maybe someone will want to read the comics after watching the show, so this is also avoid spoilers for people who want to read the comics

Yeah, Amber can't hang. They're on two different levels. Eve can hang. She might be the strongest human.
I said it was my last and I lied. Chances are the gardians only found Mark 20 years later because eve never gave up. I assume she met the mark that did stay there for 20 years, and she still turned around and went to the same place 20 years earlier to save him for a version of herself that she will never experience. Kinda like robot
