Heres some useful advice. Those 3 ounce bottles that come with these new weed trimmers, SAVE them forever. This way you can buy bottles of 2 cycle oil in larger bottles and keep refilling the 3 ounce bottle with them and this eliminates measuring your oil amount. Consider this 3 ounce bottle as one of your tools
If you want real quality, look at what the professional lawn care people use, around here it's Echo, Shtil, and Husqvarna for gas. I have seen some pros using Dewalt, Makita, and Milwaukee for battery powered. I gave up on using Craftsman weedeaters professionally after burning up the clutchs couple years. I am currently using an echo multi attachment that I have been abusing for about 6 years.
I have the craftsman ws 215 for 2 years no trouble at all except for the trigger does get stuck on occasion but for $ 130 it's been very good thanks for the review
I use to take my craftsman weed eater out to the country to weed eat yards in the country I put my weed eater in some tall grass I started from the top and work my way down the trimmer kept getting rapped in grass even when the trimmer is in full throttle but my friend sid have me a older style craftsman curve shaft I put a OEM carburetor on the curve shaft craftsman weed eater I went back to the country with my friend sid and knocked everything down with it this year the trimmer blew up so I'm working with nothing but a push mower and riding lawnmower MTD whites love it
Just saw a lawn guy use one to chop down some thick poison oak on my backyard fence. It chewed it up like a beast compared to my battery powered weed eater.
I bought one of these and starting it is an absolute nightmare and the spring on the pullback is really bad for getting stuck because of the cheap locking washer they used on the spring mechanism .
You can jump start those batteries, they appear dead due to non use for extended lengths of time. THe charger cannot read the the battery as it is so low on charge, but a bump and it can read the battery and you can reuse the battery just fine. I learned this trick on RC car batteries, Lipo and non Lipo alike. Every summer I buy these at yard sales and fix the batteries and resell them for double what I paid for them. I hope this helps!
I have the WS2400 the 27cc version. They are amazing. Buying the True fuel 50:1 mix is recommended doesn't have any ethanol which can cause problems. But with a little bit a love and care. And little know how. Or learn how. You'll easy have this trimmer for 10+ years.
I think my cmxgtamd25sc 25CC model recommends a 40:1 mixture. I bought the thing new at Lowe's years ago and have just got the thing out of storage to open up and try due to tons of life issues that popped up right after purchasing it. Hope it's a keeper.
Bought fs240r sthil..in shop after 1 week..not sure when it's coming back..looking for sub 200 to cut grass so I dont let it go big..jeez I guess this might be good for now
Where's the part of the video where you restring it? I want one with no spool to wrap the line around, and no bump button on the bottom. Craftsman used to make one that's hassle free but now I can't find it.
Hey ya. Great review. Only question I have is how long does one gas fill from full to empty last you? I know you said the battery lasts around 30 mins. I got a 2 acre property so interested how a gas one would hold up
Great vid I bout the most expensive one at Lowe's and end up being a piece of crap that never really worked right I think this year I'm going to go with the Craftsman which is 3 times cheaper than the one I bought
I purchased the exact same weed wacker you have, but mine was on "close out" so I only paid $50.00 for it. It was one of the last ones they wanted to get rid of, I couldn't pass up the deal! I really don't have any complaints about the weed wacker (its really pretty good). My thing is I'm looking for cutting line that will last, it seems that my line doesn't really last very long. any recommendations?
I had a DeWalt 20V trimmer that I normally switched out between 3 different batteries in every like 20 minutes or so, and I hated trimming around a 7 acres of land. Though, for whatever reason, it quit on me. I've tried to repair it but unable to so I tossed it away. I just bought a Craftsman WS2200 2-Stroke from Lowe's about a week ago and I loving it. I do have to mix the fuel 50:1 ratio, but they are selling them pre-mixed fuel everywhere now. Just go purchase one 1 gallon container, and then use that container to mix a 1 gallon of gasoline to 1 bottle 2 cycle oil and you're good.
I think that's the model I bought. A cmxgtamd25sc. Says on the box it has that capability. It's been in storage since purchased because LIFE unfortunately. Just got it out to unbox it.
Please respond to my comment on this this Craftsman Wacker because for me it just might be the most frustrating toy I have ever owned. Reason: I cannot seem to get any consistent ease of feed on the..95 line. I've watched UA-cam on reloading the line so I have that nailed. But I can't work for more than a minute or two and the lines snap off right at the eyelet where it exits the head. This of course is short so I'm forced to remove the head cover and often waste a ton of line. I think yesterday I stopped to mess with this 15 times in a one hour job. Extremely irritating. I have standard 95 line.... Was I supposed to use only the Craftsman line?
I’m using this below instead of mixing it myself. Never would’ve know to buy it if it wasn’t on the “frequently bought together “ section online. TruFuel 32-Pack-fl oz 50:1 Ethanol Free Pre-Blended 2-Cycle Fuel Ah I got the curved shaft hmm 🤔 never used either but cracking the box open Sunday.
The engineering of this weed trimmer is not ideal or user friendly at all! I cus the day I purchased this weed trimmer. The line never works the way it is supposed to. It either won't feed or all the line comes out. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. I've tried every method I've seen from countless UA-cam videos and still the same result. I'm ready to wrap this thing around a tree and buy another brand!

I bought one to serve as my back up: blower, edger, weed eater, as well as my primary hedge trimmer, and pole saw.
Great Lee. Even when you're not in the market. Always enjoy your reviews
Stay well

I hope it serves you well. I bought one about 3 months ago. I have used it about 4 times and giving a lot of trouble. Good luck .
Sorry to hear that - so far - so good
Me and my dad sort of eyeballed the engine oil. Worked pretty good despite the fact it smoked a ton
You told everything except what I wanted to know when cold the steps to cranking it .
Just saw a lawn guy use one to chop down some thick poison oak on my backyard fence. It chewed it up like a beast compared to my battery powered weed eater.
Didn't start it or give any sort of review. Listed features and didn't really include any information not found on the box.
I bought one of these and starting it is an absolute nightmare and the spring on the pullback is really bad for getting stuck because of the cheap locking washer they used on the spring mechanism .

Does the trimmer head turn clockwise or counter clockwise on that model?
@@MrBp629 anti clockwise i beleave

Bought one last year used it twice this year the rings blew won't get that brand again hope you have better luck

Love mine 💯
Brought this one today. Hopefully it will last as long as my old Troy BILT.
Year later I am checking up if it still standing

I had one like that. 2 second restring with no hassles. I can't find any brand that has it, either at Lowes or Home Depot.
Right on bro
Great videos! how to swap out for the attachments On the ws2200 craftsman ?
Hey ya. Great review. Only question I have is how long does one gas fill from full to empty last you? I know you said the battery lasts around 30 mins. I got a 2 acre property so interested how a gas one would hold up
If I had to guess I would say between 1-1.5 hours - depends on how much you are full throttle.
just refill the gas ....lol
The craftsman work works but it spins counter clock wise but how do I get it to spin clock wise
Can you get a cordless stringer?
Is it a fixed head or bump head to release the trimmer line?Thankyou!
Mine is a bump head. Works ok. Sometimes I need to shut it off and expand the line.
Need more horsepower but the trimmer runs okay when I use to have mine
What's the difference in the 2 stroke and 4 stroke as far as power goes?
2 stroke makes better power in the higher rpms the 4 stroke makes a lot of torque so it doesnt have to be full throttle to have power

I haven’t found one seems better then another. They all seem to suck
Replace the feed head with a stihl bump feed and throw the factory one in the trash

Can you demonstrate loading new line ?
Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/Y1JhbTpvp4U/v-deo.html
Take that one back and get the model that is electric started! You will not regret it!
I think that's the model I bought. A cmxgtamd25sc. Says on the box it has that capability. It's been in storage since purchased because LIFE unfortunately. Just got it out to unbox it.
If I buy the true fuel which one do I buy the 50;1 or the 40:1?
I use 40:1 but both will work
Yep 50:1 will smoke less and put less stress on the spark plug, but 40:1 u may get a tad more power.
I need get this one I have battery one and I was trimming this one person lawn pretty big and my weed eater literally died within 15 minutes 🤦🏽♂️

I would look or try a heavier string if .095 is breaking on you. Like .105. I heard that Oregon makes better line - but don’t know for sure on that.
@@MrGizmo211 Thank You, I will try the .105

TruFuel 32-Pack-fl oz 50:1 Ethanol Free Pre-Blended 2-Cycle Fuel
Ah I got the curved shaft hmm 🤔 never used either but cracking the box open Sunday.
how is it holding up after a month?
Good. Starts easy. Good power
Damn....all that talk and I wanted to HEAR IT RUN. Missed opportunity for a great video.
Those are some real prices of shit
I got mine on sale today for 139 usually 159 or 169 now
Same price , we got it just now
$109 LOL. Its shocking how much everything is going up, these are going for $189 now.
I know right! How can people afford anything???
I use Tru-Fuel!
👍
Do a Update
I'm sure you bought a new one the next year
Now it’s 220
Wow!
The head broke off and craftsman customer service is terrible
You didn't explain or show how to put the line in
Use 50:1 tru-fuel cleaner and much better
Buy a sthil
Why didn't you just buy the charger for the cordless you don't have to buy batteries every year they're rechargeable
Pretty sure he meant that the battery will no longer hold a charge.🤨
I didn’t know that it can do all that I just got one not too long ago
How has it been working for you? You ever buy the other attachments?
NOOBS ITS MUCH EARLIER TO JUST BUT THE 40:1 or 50:1 premix has for $7
Yes it’s cheaper the other way but that $7 can lasts me a while
bummer ...I just paid 189.99
Inflation
very heavy and under powered the edger attachment when connected it's very very under powered don't waste your money.....
Yard machine
U didn’t even start it

Mine works pretty well - but if you don’t like the line - try those plastic blades !
Waste too much time on small details.
