@@TigraSpartan ...i'm sorry but do you think FF 16 is hard? like...assuming you even played it, and aren't just being an internet troll, did you seriously need those rings? Because frankly once you get the ultimate powers that's pretty much the "i win" button for almost all combat. Also, considering the entire joke of this video is that the game is more movie than video game, me saying "that's accurate" is hardly weird? I dunno, I just don't understand your pathetic attempt at an insult. It makes no sense from either direction, and just makes you look silly. I find it especially funny since I actually beat the last boss while still having the +EXP and +Ability Points items equipped, because I forgot to take them off for the final fight, and still beat him on the first try. FF 16 can be called a lot of things, but a hard and brutal game is not one of them.
@@bubbadarth well some of it IS that it's not very engaging, like the "cinematic dodge/attack" component is just silly. They'll have this 10 minute long conversation/cinematic fight, and then suddenly out of nowhere I'm supposed to hit a single button? It's just rather silly player engagement. It's like the "Hold R2 to dramatically open doors" mechanic that serves no real purpose. In fact every time the "Hold R2 to open" mechanic came up, I would singsong to my wife who was watching me play "Dramaaaatic player engaaaaagement!" Because we found it just so silly. 🤣 I did like a lot of features of the game. Like the Active Lore feature was VERY handy for refreshing yourself on plot points mid-scene, that you don't recall from like 20 hours ago. I thought the voice acting was top notch across the board. I loved that they genuinely fleshed out your supporting cast of characters, even the ones not technically part of your combat roster. I liked that for the most part, the plot of this one made sense, and was comprehensible, instead of your typical JRPG insanity. Though it did still boil down to "Killing god with the power of friendship" I found the combat very uninspiring though. I didn't like how you really didn't have a "party" in the traditional FF sense. You could barely give a handful of commands to your doggo, but whoever else was in your party was just on autopilot. I disliked how they did away with the class system from classic FF games. And how it was basically just a solo battle game, with some mildly helpful party bots. The combat got pretty repetitive and bland once you started unlocking the various eikons. But overall it was a fun game to play. More for the story than the actual gameplay. I REALLY wish SQueenix would move away from the "angsty, pain ridden protagonist who grumble-growls his way through misery and self-hate" style of main character. It got very tiresome. I don't have any plans on playing it again, and have already uninstalled it from my ps5.
Halo 2 had 2 hours of cinematics, but I believe it had enough gameplay to counter that. It was a simple concept that cinematics were only for what the player's avatars couldn't do in game. Exhibition was supposed to be in the background and told through NPCs if you bothered to stop and listen.
@@WarpGhost92No there’s definitely a reason to play it over just watching it. This video is very much exaggerating. But if you want to miss out on a fun game because of some internet hyperbole, by all means lol.

Agreed. It's easily up there in my top three favorites. While it definitely has issues, all FF games do. Anyone who claims their favorites are "perfect" are deluding themselves. It's just that as the series goes on, we've grown older, so it's easier for us to point out the flaws rather than let nostalgia goggles blind us.
Took me a little bit to get used to the quest->cutscene->next quest pacing in FF14, was more used to EQ/WoW/LOTR style "fill up quest list, slaughter everything in the zone, get pointer to next hub" model. Once I did, I found that I could get into the story and enjoy it, and now, I really cared about who I was doing fetch quests for and wondering about what might happen next. So this just seems to be Sqenix's "thing".
Very heavy on the cutscenes I agree. I loved the game but I wish it wasn't SO serious all the time. I miss the old games where you could fully explore the enemies town until you were ready to attack the castle lol. Everytime you went into enemy territory in FF16 it was just combat after combat.
