So wait, can Half Life 2 support DirectX 11 tangibly or did you have to pull off some Source magic to do this? Either way, how does one do such a thing? I don't know much on the subject and only recently have I become interested.
@@CattaRappa If you want the most out of it, use "mat_dxlevel 98" for DX9Ex which allows for GPU particle physics and supposed DX10 features. Other titles like CS:GO, L4D2, and Portal 2 support DirectX 10 with the value of "100", based on dxsupport.cfg in the bin files. I use all of these settings for my games and they run completely fine with no visual errors. Other than than, Source 1 cant go any higher unless your want to see a port of HL2 over to Source 2 for DirectX 11 and Vulkan support.

Kurt Yarish A while ago I actually thought it could do DX11, but basically it's always DX9
