The fucking powerups are awesome.
After watching MANY scary movies, Higurashi (anime), Umineko (anime), and Elfen Lied (Anime) as well as the Ju-on movies which includes The Grudge series as well I find this to be a pretty weak in scariness and creepiness.
I don't think I've ever been this excited for a patch :)

Have I? That must be an error on my part, I think I meant "Saves" as in backups to game collection/progress (as BoI doesn't currently suppourt Steam Cloud, which is possibly limited by, *sigh* Flash) even then, I don't see what is wrong with including a save function. BoI doesn't play out like the typical rogue-like, if anything, its more like the dungeons for 2D Zeldas. Thats besides the point, though,

It's a 2D dungeon crawler with randomly generated floors, and despite the videos looking grotesque the actual game has a sort of gross cute look to it.
There's no better way to say happy halloween then this!

@mysticwolf109 If you're referring to the four horsemen of the apocalypse, then I hope YOU know that they appear randomly and it is not guaranteed that they will appear at all.
@Joroshira Flash 11 has full hardware acceleration, and actually runs really well. So when it's released, I'm sure they will optimize Isaac for it.
Arena mode or new campaign mode perhaps? Playable devil and Meat Boy would be nice too.

@ULTRAMARIOX I had Judas with 2 hearts and 7 Soul hearts, because i wasted 3 hearts buying brimstone and the nail. The nail does not work with brimstone, you cant attack.
have done it 10 times (and more) then just done the 11 but no new boss i found no new eve i did like 6 deals with the devil no new items (i think) did i do somethink rong?

@Joroshira Machinarium ran in flash and i could run that find on my old laptop that had 512mb of ram just fine. its not about the engine, its about how good the game is.

And you're right. SMB was made on something different from flash. Confusing with all the versions.

@Joroshira I am reading your comment. What I meant by that statement is that the developers probably still could work with the engine to achive what they wanted. The restrictions of java didnt really impact the game that much I believe. But I didn't like the game because the game was so clunky imo. But that was all their decisions that ruined the game for me. Not the engine.
The binding of Isaac is as ideal as the developer wanted it you to be as restricted as you are.

@Joroshira Ah I see what comment you meant now. But I only read that once. And CLEARLY, i have replied to the rest of your comments as they are. I mean you complained about the lack of a savefeature, I responded that it's a roguelike, you ignored that, however. I assumed you just realized you couldn't demand such a feature for the game. But it seems you missed that part.

Well, one of the co-creators of SMB helped make this and after playing through it, i think it's a little more than just the average flash, but i also have 0% experience in flash so when it comes down to the c+++ w/e stuff, ima take your word for it

Yea, I did actually play this game (demo). On a website. That hosted it like it's other quality Flash games. Its fun and all, but what I'm saying that if the dev wants to convince me that they care about this game, then they need to go take the extra step to atleast make it better on a enviroment that doesn't run like crud.

@SnoweyMan111 I don't mean to intrude in this awesome fight that you two are having, but I'll point out that most roguelikes I've played do have a save feature. You save and then you can get back to that spot and the save gets deleted. I get that BOI takes a lot less time to complete than, say, NetHack, but it's annoying when I'm playing then I have to stop for whatever reason and I need to either leave it running in the background or lose my current game.

@Joroshira Also, you're ignoring what I'm saying. Java didn't "ruin" that game. But it would probably be better on a different engine. Assuming the dev could handle it. Something that seems to confuse you is that I'm not arguing that an engine has no effect on a game. I argue that in this case, it doesn't. In others, it might have worked out better.
Reason he suggests joytokey is because it's designed for a keyboard. You shoot at straight angles. It's part of the game, makes it harder.

Why? Because I expect some sort of stability and technical quality in the products I pay actual money for? Flash games can be great and I never said the game isn't good, however, unless the developer takes the time to improve the game in a progeamming enviroment that isn't shit, I won't bother with it.

You said Runescape was clumsy due to Java, I didn't claim that you said it ruined it. Please read my comments first, you seem to miss that alot.
A better engine would have improved the game from a concept into something that is worth money to *me* -as the developer didn't bother.
Also, Binding of Isaac may be created for a keyboard, but it certainly isn't ideal for tight gameplay. Reminds me of the Bioshock 2/360pad controversy.

all that being said I bought this game and I LOVE it, it's amazing, awesome, always fun, and it's ACTUALLY A CHALLENGE
I had no idea Satan was so religious, flashing the upside-down cross, which used to be considered VERY holy, all the time like that.
Also, I'm still irritated with the lack of "Jesus Loves Me" in the soundtrack. Danny acted like he put it in, but I KNOW it's not the final boss track and have no idea where else it would be, and it's not on the soundtrack, so I'm calling BS. He promised/threatened us!

@Joroshira The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike.
Runescape's success was with it being a browserbased F2P game. Much less to do with the engine. If they had used say Unity (well it wasn't around at the time, my point is there's better engines to use) they would probably have made a better game in most aspects. Runescape was quite clumsy.
You argued that a "wrong" (in this case Flash) engine would be directly ruining the game. Clearly not the case here and in Super meat boy.

I disagree, it works pretty well with a gamepad and any PC game should not have to be restricted to what PC Gamers would like to demand in the technical context of how they want to play their game. This is why obligitory start screens, 30FPS caps, encrypted configs, mouse smoothing and other annoyances plague other games.
The restrictions of Java doesn't ruin Runescape and neither does Flash for BoI, however, it keeps me from enjoying the game as I see fit, so I dont suppourt it
