I love how powerful Azazel is, I main him and if I'm being honest can HARDLY even get close to mom and her heart unless I use Azazel. He also helped me clear Issac first try. But when I had the triple shot buff and didn't see Issac die in one shot I nearly pissed myself.
Isaac is a game of chance and skill, you can take the item or leave it be, you should always look up before taking an item, what it does is most important and synergies, because it could take away a full powered tear and make it a stream of short ranged pee...so yeah, take chances if you feel lucky or know what something will do, also seek secret rooms by maping everything and discarting walls that have a void or single tile, when you discard a room you should also discar all walls of rooms that would connect to the non existing secret room...I made another rules that always worked but forgot about them.
Northernlion used to basically say that this game is about having the skill to survive long enough to get carried. You'll get mechanically better with practice, and learning what items do what comes over time but you'll probably learn the most dangerous ones pretty quickly. I'm still not very good though and I have played almost 300 hours of rebirth and more than that of WotL. Take what I say with a pinch of salt.

There is a massive RNG factor involved when it comes to things like what items the game decides to give you of course (like getting soy milk or having low damage for most of the run), but things like dodging and making the best choices given your options and what the game gives you is up to your skill as a player. Practice and practice will allow you to improve. I thought I would never get any unlocks for the Lost or the Keeper, and now I can say that I have all the unlocks for both of those characters, and beat Hush without taking damage or breaking the game as the Lost.

If you use these seeds on afterbirth or afterbirth+ you can get almost all items and break the game. Depending on the order of items you get you can break the game in ALOT of different says Go to seeds and type these Alm1ghty Basement Greed mode or greedier mode is easier because you get up to 28 pennies each floor you clear amd you don't have to use the restock box everytime you buy something because you have infinite shops. You can break the game with the forgotten easily because when you collect enough items to break the game he has 3 ways to break the game even more. 1. Get as much tear altering items as possible and use glass cannon (type alm1ghty in the seeds to grant invincibility) 2: get a lot of tear altering items but use the forgottens skeleton form and see how the bone reacts to all the items. (Getting brimstone may ruin the experience) 3. Do number 2 but try with the forgotten ghost form.

Not exactly. By using diploma on a steam sale, everything in the store becomes free, and since restock makes all stores refill, you basically have endless items until you max out your CPU and you can't even load your save file.

idk. I've just gotten to the point I can bang out 2 wins in a row and I've gotten rekt on multiple gamebreaking runs. When you first start, even a gamebreaking run can easily be dashed. this is definitely a difficult game for beginners.
It's restock and steak sale combo and me either. I got to the lamb fight and in all my runs trying to unlock stuff, I never got steam sale. I got it once before the final boss.

Guess i picked it up while farming those items, but thankfully it only teleports you out of a room while charging up shots with it which meant that epic fetus which was my main tear overide after farming cancelled its effect out ^_^
well, let me explain how this works: By using the diplopia item on a steam sale you are able to get 2 of them and as steam sales stack with one another this allowed me to reduce the price of all shop items to 0. Now if you combine this with the restock item that was added in afterbirth you are able to get an unlimited ammount of items for free as the "shop slot" for items gets automaticly refilled by restock ^_^
well, considering that there was the "glowing hourglass" (which is an item that rewinds the game to the point before you enter a room) in the shop room and the void upon use activates all spacebar items, means that it would have negated the void by simply teleporting you outside of the item shop. So it sadly wouldnt have worked.
for anyone wondering this is a technique called breakfasting, exhausting the item pool to the point at which it only gives you breakfast there are a ton of ways to do it and double steam sale + restock is the best known, a few other good ways are blank card + jera + battery in a room with a gold chest and phd + blood bag in greed mode
