I leveled up all 3 classes to 1350 trying out the free content a few years ago but mainly gravitated towards warlock. Bought Witch Queen and started putting in more serious time all on Warlock and the very first piece of exotic armor I got was Transversive Steps, I got Ophidian Aspect second and tried it out for maybe 10 minutes total. Now I don't even bother trying out new exotic armor, I just get annoyed that it isn't Graviton Lance or at least some kind of weapon because I'll actually swap those around and use them. I thought it was just me being stubborn and not wanting to give up the sprinting reload function even if there are better options available, so it's good to hear I'm not the only one who thinks no other exotic armor can compare.
I resemble pretty much all of these. Transversives and top-tree dawn main in everything from trials to raids to dungeons to patrol, though occasionally ophidians or karnstiens come out for a match or 2. Eye with Stacy the stasis turret and Phoenix well for pve when I have to keep my squishy hunter friends alive. Very much into the lore and the stories. Might be the only warlock that actually likes the bond, though I do have to admit it took me months to figure out where it was on my character. 😂 The newest Solstice one looks fantastic with the bright white glow.
I'm technically a hunter main, but my second most played class is warlock. That nezeracks sin void build I have is going to be even stronger this Tuesday :)
Psst. If you’re using Ophidians, why not use my fashion build in the tournament as well? It’s Round 1 - Harrowed Chaos. It has the Fallout, Shadow, and Castle stamps of approval.
As a returning player of Destiny 2 (from Destiny 1), I can attest to Warlock mains love lore. Its not just Destiny 2 lore I get into, and I love being in that Magic Power Fantasy. I just get tired of people looking at what I like as cosmetics and say "Really? You want The Stag? There are FAR better exotics to run." I can keep myself alive longer while helping you guys.
@@Thats-Akumetsu what do you mean ass? :D have you seen axions nades? Top tree is still best subclass in the game for pvp, ophidians are fantastic exotic so is transversive.
as a warlock main in destiny one I used ophidian now I use nezarac or eye of another world. i never used transverse steps. I want sunsinger to come back .
I feel like you should be able to use at least two body exotics that'll be more interesting and give a bit more freedom in exotic builds yk ... just my opinion
And exotic class based armour. Make it remove the ability to have an exotic weapon, but it makes up for it by allowing the wearer to equip 2 exotic armour pieces. That's been my idea when anyone starts talking about this stuff lol
Thank you for making this video us Warlock mains must stick together I hit every single point on this list which is kind of scary actually I think about it. I'm really the go-to guy when my friend want to know something about Destiny lore which I take with pride and happier to tell my friend about it. And thank the Traveler that no one skipped exorcism mission custence because if someone did they will be erased with my nova bomb. Jokes aside thank you for making this video and keep doing the good work.
I play warlock with Boots of the Assembler or The Stag with middle tree dawnblade. I love giving that clutch healing nade to the newbie blueberry that is about to die in a Legend Nightfall. That "thanks, dude" in team chat is priceless.
As a Warlock main I must admit you're right but I'd also add more exotics (besides Lunas, EOAW, Phoenix, Tsteps and Ophidians) to the list: - Mantle of battle harmony - Boots of the assembler - Nezarecs sin - Contraverse hold - Veritys brow - Necrotic grip (really fun to use with Osteo Striga).
I actually spend most of my time as a Voidwalker or a Shadebinder. Contraverse Holds and Verity’s Brow are my best friends. As well as Ager’s Scepter and Lorentz Driver respectively.
I had to leave a 2nd comment just to say I'm shocked at how damn accurate this entire video has been on my Warlock go to gear or my interests as a Warlock Main..I don't know any other D2 players either so I just fell into that groove all on my own.
I'm a Titan main who loves to solo destiny content but when a raid group or fireteam calls for a Well Of Radiance, I just sigh and switch to my warlock and I'm immediately invited and respected in the group. There is just something special about being the ultimate support character. Titans focus on defense with Bubble or Banner Shield or massive DPS with Thundercrash, but warlocks are so much fun with there support roles, either as a wellock or slowing and freezing ads and champions with stasis turrets. Also, hunters need some love in PVE. Make tether the highest debuff in the game, or possibly give more of a damage super other than Celestial Nighthawk golden gun.
As a Warlock main I agree with this video. Though for me purely because Destiny 1 had them, Ophidian Aspects are my main stay Exotic. I didn't know I could remove them until recently... Even with Solar 3.0 you will still catch me in the crucible running the classic top tree dawnblade setup and abusing my rift to win those fair gunfights and more then anything I'll be running content solo, i'd run a raid solo like back in Destiny 1 if I could in Destiny 2. Many a Crota was fell by my solo Warlock.
My favorite build so far has been Stasis/Stag/Monte Carlo. The crazy amounts of ice missiles, grenades from melee kills, freezing people solid with rift, and constant supers make you feel like some kind of undead rime shaman.
I know Warlocks are all T-Steps this and Ophidians that, but honestly? Warlocks have one of the most stacked Exotic rosters in the game, to be completely honest. Nezarac's Sin, The Stag, Crown Of Tempests, Verity's Brow, Osmiomancy Grips, Contraverse Hold, Getaway Artist, Mantle Of Battle Harmony, Phoenix Protocol, Boots Of The Assembler, the list goes on!
As a vortex nova bomb warlock main I've never used transverse steps or ophidians I usually only run getaway artist or boots of the assembler and before they came I ran skull of dire ahamkara and Phoenix protocol
(not me having over 5000 hours as warlock on both destiny 1 & 2, knowing almost all the lore, AND have used every single one of these builds at some point or another.. 😅😅) well done man... Well done
Warlock main here since D1 (though I play all classes a lot) and I don’t touch T steps myself. But I’ve HARD mained Ophidians for 85% of my warlock gameplay since D2. However, the Doric’s that have gotten me to take them off are: Getaway Artists, Osmiomancy, Rain of Fire (new main)
I loved the part of being loud during a cutscene. If I am in a party, I ALWAYS mute everyone so I can watch. Occasionally everyone shuts up and 1 days something so I end up shushing them.
As soon as they allowed Well to counter Stasis, I mained it for all of my endgame PvP endeavors. So I was debating your comment of being a lore buff but I couldn't help but agree when you mentioned playing the campaign hardcore
Me who loves lore, has 98% of the time on destiny as a warlock, mutes party in cutscenses, a lore addiction to vex content, and absolute role in a team to never die and support
Okay let's see. I never used Transversive Steps or even the other two exotics. Never used top tree Dawnblade I have a bad habit of not retreating Barely used Arc Soul or Stag Never used Ophidians until just this month (August 2022) Okay I love being a PvE builder I don't use Stasis on Warlock I love Well of Radiance I don't really mind the bonds. It's just a small detail to me for those that like details. :) Loved Warlocks for a long time I love the lore >:) And I soloed the Legendary WQ campaign and past narratives.
Ran the Aspects since they came out, never really touched the Transversives since that was never my build. But combine the range they give with your homing melee, reload speed mods they're a weapon all by themselves Plus the drip is immaculate
I'm a warlock and I enjoy getaway with bottom tree arc for constant arc buddies. working on my no time to kill catalyst for dual arc buddies. only thing I dislike about bottom tree arc is the melee. needs a huge buff.
I never used transversive steps tbh, I ussually use getaway artist, eye of another world, ophidian aspect and my favorite one being boots of the assembler with lumina, ho boy I love that build.
Idk why the algorithm is recommending this now…but I used to main T Steps until Necro’s and Osteomancy’s cam3 out. Those are all I run now with Devour, or crowd control stasis builds. I def only run devour in PvP. I’m just a chaotic player and do whatever I can to confuse people or catch em off guard. Back when we had self res in D1, running into the middle of a battle and dying was part of my play style. I would act like a bad player, get domed, then res and take everyone out while they were distracted with my millions of solar grenades and Zhalo Supercell. I miss self res and Zhalo, was easily the best class imo.
Asa warlock main, I haven't touched transversive steps in almost a year, and have recently fallen in love with the Osmiomancy gloves Double nades and extra freezey
I've always felt Daft Punk's Derezzed, from the Tron Legacy soundtrack, is the perfect song for stormcaller warlocks. I've Palpatined so many enemies while jammimg to that song.
I may use transversive steps, but it's only because I haven't found a different armor exotic that 1.) looks better 2.) has an effect I enjoy more than not beading to reload nearly as often. Also RIP the old armor mod system
Not me watching this as a Warlock main because I only have one character… who is a Warlock… and I’m brand new to the game… and still trying to figure out how the fudge to play… I’m jotting down all these notes now so I have them for the future, thank you!
I'm a Warlock main. I never use Transversives or Ophidians (though I don't PvP - if I do PvP, I do have an Ophidian loadout saved.) For PvE, just about everything is stronger than Transversives. They're the Warlock crutch, the way Stompees are the Hunter crutch... But, I guess this should really be titled "What PvP main Warlock mains do".
I'm a proud and unapologetic Lumina/Assembler Well goblin. You get to heal your team while pretending to shoot them for their lack of results. It's like being a Commissar, but my people stand back up when I revolver them in the back.
I have been a titan main since D1, but after the recent nerfs (play mainly pvp) I just couldnt take being at a disadvantage anymore, Warlock are just better at EVERYTHING. Movement, healing, super etc.. Really hope WQ brings a change to titans, maybe Void 3.0 or one of the new exotics.
I must be a different breed I don't wear traversesive steps, never used ophidian aspects. I love my arc subclass and my arc buddy and my getaway artists I never take those off
There is one small build that is very fun and explosive by using bottom tree dawn blade and the solar warmind cell mod with either sunbreacers OR dawn chorus for the almost endless burn and explode.

The amount of copium you have to drink to claim that Ikora is a unique and interesting character. Both her and Zavala were carried by Caydes presence.
I'm technically a hunter main, but my second most played class is warlock. That nezeracks sin void build I have is going to be even stronger this Tuesday :)
Void is love
Love me Voidbois 💜
Shout out to all my warlocks❤️ mains out there, much love!
I loved the video Patty, great content as Always!
Warlocks are just too underrated yet the best PvE class
Huh? They are most wanted class in pve. Most lfg post need one or all warlocks lol
@@runek100 talking bout pvp they are ass but you can't replace them in PvE
@@Thats-Akumetsu what do you mean ass? :D have you seen axions nades? Top tree is still best subclass in the game for pvp, ophidians are fantastic exotic so is transversive.
@@runek100 this guy knows the truth
as a warlock main in destiny one I used ophidian now I use nezarac or eye of another world. i never used transverse steps.
That "thanks, dude" in team chat is priceless.
titan main, tried warlock void 3.0 and was instantly hooked, love this
rain of fire anyone? instantly reloads ALL weapons upon doing an icarus dash. how can you beat that? you can't
In Vanilla Year 1, yeah I rocked T Steps or Ophidian gloves but Contraverse Hold is too much fun getting your nades back
As a Warlock main I must admit you're right but I'd also add more exotics (besides Lunas, EOAW, Phoenix, Tsteps and Ophidians) to the list:
- Mantle of battle harmony
- Boots of the assembler
- Nezarecs sin
- Contraverse hold
- Veritys brow
- Necrotic grip (really fun to use with Osteo Striga).
Steps never amused me I use Sunbracers or crown of tempests or nezarecs sin
Love the warlock because it made me feel like Darth Sidious. You nailed that one. Love stormcaller
Once in a while every warlock will assume they’re on Well when in reality they’re still on top or bottom tree. Every. Single. One. (Myself included)
I also do this to myself with devour and top tree void.... Regularly
"take a look at the exotic your wearing right now"
*sun bracers*
what? they're fun
Top tree dawn blade mains are just hunters who took off stompiees.
Me who loves lore, has 98% of the time on destiny as a warlock, mutes party in cutscenses, a lore addiction to vex content, and absolute role in a team to never die and support
Okay let's see.
I never used Transversive Steps or even the other two exotics.
Never used top tree Dawnblade
I have a bad habit of not retreating
Barely used Arc Soul or Stag
Never used Ophidians until just this month (August 2022)
Okay I love being a PvE builder
I don't use Stasis on Warlock
I love Well of Radiance
I don't really mind the bonds. It's just a small detail to me for those that like details.
:) Loved Warlocks for a long time
I love the lore >:)
And I soloed the Legendary WQ campaign and past narratives.
Ophidian main here. I love the hotswap capability they give you. Especially Chappie/Pali combo
Ran the Aspects since they came out, never really touched the Transversives since that was never my build. But combine the range they give with your homing melee, reload speed mods they're a weapon all by themselves
Plus the drip is immaculate
Love my warlock, But shock horror I've never used transversive steps in pvp I've always preferred obsidians.
Same
Not to mention we have blink :)
Asa warlock main, I haven't touched transversive steps in almost a year, and have recently fallen in love with the Osmiomancy gloves
Double nades and extra freezey
I've always felt Daft Punk's Derezzed, from the Tron Legacy soundtrack, is the perfect song for stormcaller warlocks. I've Palpatined so many enemies while jammimg to that song.
I may use transversive steps, but it's only because I haven't found a different armor exotic that 1.) looks better 2.) has an effect I enjoy more than not beading to reload nearly as often. Also RIP the old armor mod system
T steps were the first exo I got when I stared playing this game, so fun to use.
As a warlock main with ace of spades just to say empowering rift along with ace of spades with momentum Mori is overpowered
Not me watching this as a Warlock main because I only have one character… who is a Warlock… and I’m brand new to the game… and still trying to figure out how the fudge to play…
I’m jotting down all these notes now so I have them for the future, thank you!
Awww, patty, you sweet thing. You didn't have to add my work to your list
Haha glad you enjoyed it :)
Being a Warlock main I'm more then happy to run well, plus it almost guarantees myself a spot in any raid or end game activity
Lmao same they only take me cuz of well, all the time they all die and yell at me not to die 🤣
Mantles, belt books, maybe an aura of some sort would be great class items
Voidlock is my fave, nuking entire rooms of enemies with health regen is the ultimate fun.
I'm Nezarec&Graviton Lance team
I'm a Warlock main. I never use Transversives or Ophidians (though I don't PvP - if I do PvP, I do have an Ophidian loadout saved.) For PvE, just about everything is stronger than Transversives. They're the Warlock crutch, the way Stompees are the Hunter crutch... But, I guess this should really be titled "What PvP main Warlock mains do".
crown of tempests combined with mods like hands on and other ability recharge on kill mods is the single best way to PVE other than well
I was a Hunter main till I came to liking Top tree DawnBlade, now I main Warlock, Play Titan often, and have hardly used my Hunter since Beyond Light
Warlock main since D1, in D2 it was hunter and now I’m finally back at warlock for S17.
Fun fact! people say Ikora is one of the strongest warlocks if not the best (except the player if they chose warlock class)
My go to warlock exotic is boots of the assembler. Love the team support everytime i pop a rift
It's either Transversive Steps or Verity's Brow for me, I almost never use any other piece of exotic armor lol
