OMG. In 1976, I was 3. It was the hottest summer in UK history. This song and the sunshine never went away. Sad, in a way, to think my life peaked after 3 years. But, bloody hell, what a year it was. And all these years later, still my favourite song ever.

When I was a kid I loved The Name of the Game and Eagle and Knowing Me, Knowing You and Arrival- always time for the bagpipes! My guilty pleasures were Bon Scott (ACCA DACCA) and It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock and Roll and Jailbreak!

Note. Here in the West, standard AM radio format was 2 minutes 30 seconds. If artists did not edit for this format, their music would not get played. That's why there are so many "short" songs here in the West that come in at exactly 2:30.
many gems out there, but Abba didn't only make dance tracks, songs like "knowing me, knowing you" or the "they day b4 you came" have a way more serious side to them.
This is the only single I had by ABBA when I was a teenager. ABBA didn't do as well in the US as they did in other countries. I believe Dancing Queen was their first hit on the US charts. But then the US was saturated with musicians and bands in the 1970s and the English bands were still dominating the charts.

I love watching people react to this song....they were expecting "good"...but they certainly weren't expecting it to be THIS GOOD. And by the time the song is over, ABBA has another groupie... another ABBA junkie. This song is so EPIC, so brilliantly performed, that even people who weren't ABBA fans, like me, can't NOT love this song. It's so damned catchy and beautifully sung that it instantly wins over even the toughest critic. Dancing Queen is a 20th century classic.

The boys achieved here an extraordinary work of Agnetha (soprano voice) and Anni Frid (mezzo soprano voice), each one gives its best effort to match the other (Anni Frid rises in the highs, Agnetha lowers more to the bass) and thus their combined voves achieve records of perfection

I was in a nightclub in 2019 when this track came on. I couldn't believe that this song was still so popular. The dance floor and surrounding areas was packed with both genders dancing to it. Must admit that it was a retro style bar dedicated to 70s and 80s

Some of the songs on the Ring Ring Album are a bit basic but they are still well crafted. "What about Livingstone" on the Waterloo Album is also a bit basic- but they were ABBA's first two Albums. By their third Album self titled ABBA, they had well and truly arrived! Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All are ABBA's finest two songs. I also love "THE NAME OF THE GAME and Eagle and Voulez Vous.

it´s a part of my youth and i remember that i have danced that song with a very special girl in my live on that time.
As far as disco songs go, you really should be checking out Lay All Your Love On me, Super Trouper and Summer Night City. But Abba has made so many more great songs, like One Of Us, Knowing Me Knowing you, Happy New Year, When I Kissed The Teacher, Chiquitita, I Have A Dream, just to name a few.

Those are the American Stats which are nothing compared to their success everywhere else in the world. Nine number one songs in The UK alone. Just google the ABBA Discography and you'll see just how colossal they were worldwide.
