@amer-inkan2026 If it's preground psyllium powder, then you need only about a small amount around 1 tsp as it's quite concentrated. If the dough is not firm enough to roll then add a bit gradually.
HI, I've made this today. They were excellent. But I would argue these are the best replacement for roti as they came out thicker than the other wraps I've made from this channel. May be I've made this incorrectly or did not roll it thin enough. Either case I loved it and went well with my chicken curry. Although I eat both coconut and flaxseed wraps even though I'm not a great fan of either. I must say that the combination of both coconut and flaxseed, 50:50, I thought taste really good. Thank you
Those look great! I’m just getting into keto baking and I bought your cake recipe book because of the great variety you’ve presented. I will buy your bread book as well. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into these recipes and videos. Keto is looking much easier to live with long term now. 👍💕
Yes, you can use the brown flaxseeds but the color will look darker. Psyllium husk is the best replacement for gluten. You can try xanthan gum but I am not sure whether it will turn out the same and you need to adjust the amount of water
I used super fine coconut flour which I get from a baking ingredient shop. I can also get it from online stores or certain supermarkets. But some coconut flour are more absorbent than others so if you find one that's suitable then try and stick to it.
Thanks for your support 🙏 Do you mean deep-fried into chips? Actually, I have a separate video to show 3 ways you can use the tortilla wraps. Chips is one of the way. The video will be published later next week.
@@lowcarbrecipeideas yes that is exactly what I'm talking about one you can fry and you can fry hard shell tacos I really don't care for soft shell tacos I like to fry my hard and the book is wonderful thank you very much for it glad to support
@billnails9471 Ahhh... you mean crispy taco shells! Yes, you can do it with this recipe but you need to roll the dough thinly. However I am not sure whether deep fried will be crispy. I tried frying my leftover tortilla wrap into small chips but it wasn't as crispy as the baked ones. Let me experiment on it and if successful I will do a video on crispy taco shells 🙏
@@lowcarbrecipeideas Could it be that the psyllium powder made the dough thinker and less flexible. I watched your video of pre grounded vs husk . Psyllium husk is so finicky in recipes
@emyily If your dough is quite thick, it could be the coconut flour. Certain coconut flours are more absorbent than others hence, the batter or dough becomes thicker. In this case, you may need to add more water. If the psyllium powder is a bit too much, the dough will be firmer and stickier and should not be crumbly.
I've tried coconut flour tortillas and flaxseed tortillas separately and didn't like either flavor. The coconut tortillas are too fragrant and sweet for savory meals and the flaxseed tortillas are too bitter. Will combining these flours, as you have done, result in a smoother flavor?
The combo of coconut flour and flaxseed actually produces quite a neutral and pleasant taste with a nice texture. I used this combo for quite a lot of my bread recipes, and I love the texture and taste. You can check out the playlist🙏
I grind the whole seeds until a finer texture. If you're using flaxseed meal, it is best to give it a grind until a finer texture but be careful not to overgrind as it will become a paste. Grinding it into a finer texture will make the bread texture lighter.
Yes but only a small amount is required around 1 to 2 tsp as it is veryconcentrated. Start with 1 tsp then add gradually until you get the right consistency
@@lowcarbrecipeideas what would be the right consistency?I followed some other recipes that used it but made it with almond flour but the dough would never come together. I’m assuming most or some powders will turn purple when it mixed with water
@emyily I believe only a minority of psyllium husks will turn purple. Most established brand will not have this problem. I highly recommend using whole psyllium husks and grind it down 50% or half its original volume. This is the most effective for baking as it will absorb the water properly. Preground psyllium powder is super concentrated. If you add until you get the right consistency of dough, the amount is too much hence, the bread will be wet, sticky and dense. If you don't need to shape the dough then it's better as it's ok for the dough to be soft as you can just pour into the pan. If you need to shape the dough then you need to add more psyllium powder which makes the bread denser. That's why it's tricky to use Preground psyllium powder. Please check out this video for better understanding; ua-cam.com/video/_bnCwudgFt4/v-deo.html
@@lowcarbrecipeideas Thank you. I will try it with psyliium powder in the amounts you reccomend. I would use husk but I had bought the powder for some other recipes and I also don't have a grinder. I dont think food processor helps much with grinding. I wanted to use the current up before buying anymore. When I run out of powder i will switch the husk and get a grinder.

Can these be frozen if you separate them with waxed paper/parchment?
Yes, it's mentioned in the description box. You can freeze them individually for up to 3 months
