  • Jumped in the car with Drew Bezanson and Kyle Carlson for a little day filming trip. We hit up Raleigh's Marsh Creek skatepark on the way out of town, then set our sights straight toward Greenville, NC to ride the best skatepark in the world; The Unit.
    Huge thanks to Ryan Nyquist for making the Unit session possible. Subscribe to Ryan on UA-cam:

    This format is the best format. The daily vlog (all talk and no riding) is boring af. Quality over quantity. Thanks Dan, you the man!

    i love a silent hub too, but i also love that king/hope chainsaw ripping sound for trails. i actually remember in the early 2000's a company named stealth was making cassettes that were infinite instant engagement points and ran completely silent hence the name. i really wish more hub companies went this route it seemed like it really would have taken off but i guess it sank. they were race hubs, but i'm sure the technology could transfer to a more substantial hub design. also they were true cassettes. not like the drivers of today, 12t is about as small as it got back there back in those days 😂

    OMG Leigh is sooo funny that in 2001 when I saw him at the ' park, he rode up to-beside-me on the ramp, and when he came into my aura space, dude, I literally burst out laughing and rode away embarassedly ... his energy just made me laugh so deeply.
    20 ounce ? It more like 40 !!!!! (Only the old timers will know that one)
    Good to see you're doing well Leigh

    Just found out you even did these videos (you can thank RodeoPeanut for the shoutout haha). Have binge watched just about every video over the past 3 days. Have been a huge fan of yours since I was in high school. Keep up the good work man, your channel represents BMX so much better than most of the other channels.

    I cracked my top tube the other day and haven't been able to ride. It's on the verge of snapping off at any moment. What frame would you recommend for a 6' dude who mainly rides street? I haven't bought parts besides tires and shit in a while.

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому +1

      Damn that's a bummer about your frame. Definitely get off that thing ASAP. Not worth the risk. I'd recommend the Cult Hawk frame. It's what I ride and feels great on street. Has a little longer of a back end than most street frames, but I think that'll suit you well since you're 6' tall. If you want something a little more responsive, look into the Cult Dak frame. The back end is a bit shorter and the headtube is a little steeper. It may be better for tech street riding, but also may feel a little too easy to handle. It all comes down to personal preference though. Both those frames have somewhat taller standover heights (the Dak frame is really high) and come in 21 and 21.25 sizes. Both being advantageous for people 6' and over. Hope this helps!

    Dan what kind of mic are you using? Audio is always so perfect in your edits!

    Are you going to start uploading daily?

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому +6

      Not planning on it. Trying to keep 1 or 2 videos coming out weekly though. Daily seems like an insane amount of work and I don't think I'd be able to ride enough doing that.

    How are the jumps at the unit?(easy to jump?)

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому +1

      Everything there is more on the advanced side. Not that it's super hard to ride, but it's good to feel comfortable on quarterpipes, spines, and vert walls since there are a ton of them there.

    • @danfoleybmx
      @danfoleybmx  7 років тому +2

      Pull off of the coping a little harder on your way up. Mellower quarters you have to pull hard in order not to hang up. Steep quarters you don't have to pull as much.
