Hey Dan, I'm gonna be taking a trip to Barcelona next week, and it will be the first time I've ever traveled internationally (and with my bike). Just wanted to see if you have any suggestions, tips, do's, don'ts, etc about traveling to Spain. Thanks!
Be careful with the cops there ( guardia civil) , if you ride on the street or curbs instead of the bike lane or if you don't respect red lights etc...escpecially on the big avenues , even at night. The ticket is about 100e and they don't let you go until you pay. Besides that BCN is a paradise ! enjoy your time there !
I've only been to Spain a couple times and didn't stay that long either time. Brush up on your Spanish if you know any. It's nice being able to order food in Spanish without feeling like a dumb foreigner. Also make sure your bike bag is under 50 lbs to avoid the airline getting you with that overweight fee. Have fun dude.
