@@MrScrab13 depends which tour you mean? I got upcoming gravity tour to be released in 2025. Previous tours are 18x20 100” they are much easier to accelerate but lack plow through and power from the mass so its actually quite demanding to play heavy. Yet the control is great. Feel is quite similar i would say but the overall performance go to the heavier version Pro. In 2025 gravity tour will be 98” 16x19 and much more powerful and spin friendly
@@bigdaddy812 in my junior days my main racquet was Babolat roddicks signature pure drive which was extended. Fun stick ! But its been so long time ago…a bit worried that its not my cup of tea 🍻 if it was 18x19…. 🤗
I totally agree, most players using it are being tricked into thinking the racquet is easy to play with due to the huge sweetspot. It's a frame for physical and technical strong players. In terms of feel and directional control easily Top 3 racquet on the market. Played with it for 1 season. Outstanding performance but the biggest downsides are the super low launch angle and maneuverability... it feels drastically slower than 98s and bad fit for OHB or anyone who wants a faster feeling frame. ,)
I agree. Thanks for the comment! Super low launch? When compared to other 18x20 frames I think its rather neutral. Especially that it’s a „control” racquet you can drop tension down to 21kg which will further increase the launch. Regarding mobility maybe picking 1.20 gauge string might help (and increase the launch as well!) that being said the improvement wont change the DNA of a Gravity Pro so i totally agree with you. I cant imagine player with OHB picking Gravity 😅 but pretty much all double backhand players love Gravity. ❤
@@dandan.tennis The 18x20 is very dense in the center. If you don't fully swing out lots of balls will land short or in the net. 1.20 edged string can help, but launch will be on the lower side, still. ,)
@@hybrid11theory75 true, short balls can happen if you dont go for it. Thats why i placed it next to prestige family of racquets. But thats what I like in those type of racquets. You can hit without the fear of hitting too long and you can really explore all the benefits of full follow through, long stroke and fast acceleration. Only downside is that you cant always execute those type of shots in tennis. Sometimes you have to defend and sometimes you dont have enough time to prepare everything correctly.
So would you suggest a 4.0~4.5 overall player with a decent physique to use this racket? I mean I won't consider myself too strong in particular, but I go to the gym more often than most. I've been using the Ezone 100 line, and at times 300g does seem too low for me. I'm trying to find a racket that works similarly to the EZone line but is heavier, I'm an aggressive baseliner who likes to hit it flat and go to the net occasionally, easy power, easy spin, doesn't care too much about precision.
@@Leo-nc3yx Ezone 100 is very unique. Huge power potential and stability. Gravity Pro is a totally different animal. Power on this is maybe 60 % lower compared to the ezone 100. But its heavier and hits penetrating flat balls for sure. But its not an ezone 100 alternative. You can try adding some mass to the ezone 100 if you like it that much. 2 grams at the top or maybe just add the leather grip…maybe you can add mass to the bridge to keep the balance point unchaged so you will get a heavier feel without changing anything else. If you want something that will hit similar ball and feel a bit heavier you can try newest head speed mp which has higher swing weight. For a flat hitting playstyle you might enjoy Percept 100D as well but the power lvl is a bit lower. I like the weight distribution though… 😊
The first feeling when playing GPro is "wow, I'll play it for the next... years" (great on backhand, big sweet spot, quite powerful, perfect feel when smacking the ball from the baseline)... then you realise it's demanding, launch angle is on the lower side, lots of balls go into the net, playing defence with it is tough, doesn't help you in matches... strung it with Msv Focus Hex 24kg, it's quite a good choice for this stick... then I went with kBlade 98 16/19, much better for me, faster feeling, yet still stable frame dandan - I admire your training partner/coach (?) technique... the forehands are just... wow❤
partner - ye, his forehands are HEAVY. He used to play with Prestige S frame, then after some testing ended with Prestige 18x20 and he couldn't find anything better for his aggresive strokes.
I have a very similar setup so I have a good feel of what you are talking about. Focus hex ultra, 1.25mm, 24-25kg. I have also stuck a coin at the bottom (8gr) because, as said in the video and I totally agree, it feels like it has to be a little more headlight. Being produced more head light would allow more room for customisation too; very important since the frame is already heavy. I hope this idea reaches Head soon.
You are right saying it should be more head heavy - but you should maybe achieve it not by adding weight to the head but by removing weight from the handle, Barty style. ;)
Adding weight to the head of the babalot pure strike 97 is sought out by the racquet and does not take away anything . It is a crisp, feeling yet thicker than normal , thin beam racquet designed for attacking players . It would be well worth a try as a 16x20 . I sence that Head racquets would keep you locked into their catalog / family of products , with no way out . This is a pro and con .
i think i prefer soft feeling with crisp response xd that's my goal. I need to find a racquet for a grinder, not attacker. Even though I will always work on that aspect it goes way deeper than technique for me. OR I need an attacker's frame but while swinging I won't feel like I am in the attacker's mode.
@@dandan.tennis The wilson ultra pro is also an excellent pro level racket . I have def just tested these and from what you are stating , the Ultra pro is a good option . It is also a 97 thin beam , yet a beautiful weapon that needs a good tention .
@@derekpappas1556isnt it ultra low powered ? Kinda prestige territory ? With prestige i usually struggle on defense and if i want that Ultimate feel and control then well, i have prestige 😅 if i want a bit more power within the prestige territory i can go Percept 97D. What can I get with the ultra ? I think from Wilson I am closest to blade 16x19 but most likely i would have to customize it while whiteout already has that option with the additional buttcap weights (+5 and +10). I prefer heavier more headlight setups usually
I'm surprised you find this one so demanding when your preferred frame is an ISO 305. I disagree with one thing: I think it's totally reasonable to have thin beamed, dense string pattern racquets with a SW less than 330. The player just needs to have fast racquet head speed.
Hello! Did you try Gravity Tour? is there any difference in feel or just weight distribution?
