Another video made on request! Such a simple issue on paper but seems to be frustrating people to no end. Also included time stamps in the vid description if you want to skip around.
I just finished story mode on hard so I have a certain fresh perspective on why players are doing this. And the reason is that the AI falls for this shit all the time teaching these players bad habits. All you have to do is zone, chicken guard, and throw out level 3 supers and you've got most matches won. Then they take that shit online.
rooflemonger Can you please make a video on explaining Universal Normal attack Negatives, Neutrals and Positives? I'm having a hard time against people in ranked spamming auto atk and super dash. Example. When is it best to attacking after blocking the forward medium overhead? Or how can you punish a super dash with a normal AFTER a block? When are the negatives as positives? I need to know when I can unleash with which normal attack. I can't think of anyone else to ask.
Some REALLY bad people will just keep high jumping backwards without even calling assists or attacking at range and a simple way to bait them I've found is to start charging ki. It's very imperfect strategy because of how ridiculously punishable it is but I've found it's surprisingly effective at catching people off guard since it turns the tables and forces them to respond to you, or they risk dealing with an opponent who has 3+ bars on them at 15 seconds in. Any smart player will say 'cut it out' and just ki blast/assist you out of it but generally speaking if they're just bouncing around with no real plan then they probably aren't that smart to begin with.
Thumbs up already - only just read the title... ^^ Edit: I guess "don't take the bait" is the best piece of advise in this video (and the only thing I am guilty of failing to do myself amongst all those tips xD) Good video as usual though - keep it up ;)
I really appreciate all of your content. I've seriously grown so fast in this game skill-wise because of all of the readily available teaching from you!
The last time someone played against me like that, I got a quarter life lead and let the time run out. I hate that playstyle but I will absolutely use it to the extreme against ppl who use it 😂
There are way too many jumpers online. Like, they keep jumping away and don't even try to start offense, counterattacking is all they know it seems.. lately i've been finding ways to deal with it though, but it's still super annoying.
NSUNS243 lmao you hate jumpers too? xD agreed. It's just so irritating like doing it defensively for a short period maybe to wait for an assist or bait is fine but always jumping 24/7 running and waiting for the other person to attack is just cancer
Cypher Yazoo I was thinking about doing that actually, but i'm still looking for the "perfect" match where both players play equally good and maybe do some impressive or cool stuff (combos, setups, baits etc). I wasn't expecting a Storm related comment on this video though! How did you know about me and Storm? I'm curious :o
NSUNS243 Wait you're an awesome stylish player on storm series i was going to learn how to play Storm at High level and i saw some videos of yours, VenomDeOkami, Drantis, WindySensei and a lot stylish players until now it was too hard to do your things xDDDDDDD, i gave up and kept watching ^^
Something I'd like to add is that there's a difference between people who are in this video that show an obvious flaw that can be exploited and people who are solid at zoning you until they find an opening. Using projectiles and assists to find an opening is a part of the neutral game and players who don't utilize this will get frustrated when they can't seem to get in.
started watching your videos a few hours ago basicaly marathoned everything xD really useful thanks for taking the time for the tutorials haven't seen any other videos for them
Appreciate it man!! Would you please explain how to time meaties on different kinds of wake-ups? Everytime I get a knockdown and IAD in, I either get 2H’d or vanished. Meanwhile my opp can perfectly meaty me on whichever wake up I try. Thanks!!
First your vids on DBFz are may be the only one out there really teaching stuffs. Since this vid is about jumping I noticed when I'm about to jump that my character is not blocking anymore. Can you look more into it ? I'm litterally getting hit (not by a low) but by an air attack, a normal attack or a homing dash even though the attack should be blocked. When I'm fully in the air though the block works just fine. Look more into it please !
Every game I’ve played I legit just encounter jumpers and I’ve watched this video over and over and over and tried this tactics but there just now working for me
At this point I’m probably just gonna quit the game because every time I hop on every xbox player just jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps all over again and the game really is t even fun at that point
Because the jumping is exploiting a broken game mechanic, and there is no real counter to it, especially if all they do is jump away. Only thing you can do if you do actually get close to them is to jump and hit dragon rush. You'll catch them for sure. The problem is that if you miss it, you're fucked. I just suggest you restart the app if you encounter one of those clowns and you're not winning.
I have 16 and blujeta on my team, I deal with jumpers with 214m. But trunks I had some trouble with, so I'm happy you happened to use him in your examples, I knew Change the future was powerful but I hadn't thought to use it as an anti Air.
You can always use your own assist to make Them block and simply walk or Dash forward a bit. Moving towards the opponent gives you meter do you wil get the advantage. And characters like Goku black and blue can use their dive kick or instant transmision to het close in an instant.
@rooflemonger Do you have a video on explaining when it's your turn to attack? I'm super comfortable blocking infact I'd say my blocking is pretty good, I'm very patient. But when I do think, oh this is when it's my turn I get countered. 70% of the whole match my attacks are being countered and I don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing, even when I'm in neutral.
When people start constantly jumping backwards I just say two can play your pointless games and I just chill in the corner blocking waiting for super dash or teleports
Rooflemonger, love the videos! Wondering if you could explain some options of what to do after a blocked super dash, both grounded and in the air. Wouldn't mind offensive, defensive, or both!
"Jumpers" (is this really a thing?) are 99% of pinks I play on PC. It makes sense. Most people lose to "jumpers" because they get impatient. There are a few SSGs with 4-5k ranked games that I play online that still do nothing but hold upback, vanish extend every hit, spam assists in neutral, etc. I still lose to them sometimes because they'll spend literally 300 seconds running away from me and wasting my time. Other times I just bring in anchor 16 early, blast spark, eliminate someone, and run away until time up. I've never lost this way. Other times I just start teabagging in place. I'll give them the free hit if they want it, but if they keep running I just quit. It's a waste All you have to do is force them to play on your terms. Trying to open them up is just what they want, and they typically abuse that.
I actually noticed that I have a habit of jumping and using air moves as certain characters. I've been trying to stop because some people are getting really crazy with the down heavy. At least I now know some of the things to watch out for when this happens.
Jamir1011 I don't know about tien but goku black has his instant transmission either behind or right in front if timed right and also (and sorry not sure what it's called) his qcf special can be used in the air and usually puts the opponent in the corner if it hits, if it's blocked or misses you're still in on them, you just might want to be careful if it puts you above you opponent.
Hey I have a question, i'm thinking of switching either Tien or Hit with Trunks because he covers my weaknesses of neutral and pressure, but I will lose a lot of synergy combos with Goku Black so do you think I should put Trunks on my team, if yes tell me who to switch with.
Super jumpy players is the number 1 problem in DBFZ neutral. Many, especially higher ranked players will go out of their way and stall the game as long as possible until they catch you with a beam or assist. They will avoid engaging at all cost and I'm glad there is some form of dealing with it. It is by far the best way to play if you're trying as hard as possible to be competitive and I doubt it's not as fun for then as against who they are playing... as in, not fun at all
Wouldn't know what to do with a podcast, plus nobody to really play off of. 1 man show works only if you are one of the true greats like dan carlin. I remember years ago I tried to get a podcast about crappy b movies off the ground but that kinda bombed.
I don't know what part of the world you guys are playing in that zoning or delaying for assist cooldowns is such a massive problem. Aggressive and active neutral play is the most rewarding in this game and as the uploader said winning by timeout is not a viable strategy. Watch any high level tournament play and you'll see why
Blake Herron Yesterday I timed out 3 players that played exactly like this. Just because I knew their offense was weak and I had the patience to let the time run out. It was funny cause in pretty much all 3 cases, when the timer hit 30 seconds, they start to panic and throw unsafe moves out. It's quite humorous.
There's a difference between a zoner and a bitch you see a zoner knows high damage combos for their character and know when to rush in while a bitch has a mental breakdown everytime their opponent gets closer. This video was about countering bitches.
nickolas fortunata lmao “dealing with bitches” in that case it shouldn’t be a problem I find it so funny how many people complain about these types of players just go in and beat their ass they just keep jumping
Holding up-back is not zoning. Using projectiles to force your opponent to block, so you can either advance or force them to halt pressure, is zoning. Refusing to engage in neutral AT ALL until the other person has taken their turn is just being an insecure bitch. EVERY single person I've seen that does this runs unoptimal combos and have no real pressure, setups, meaties, you name it. They rely on you wasting 300 seconds trying to get them to fucking play you, testing your patience until you either rip them apart or make casual mistakes.
Another video made on request! Such a simple issue on paper but seems to be frustrating people to no end. Also included time stamps in the vid description if you want to skip around.
rooflemonger here’s a video idea, how about clashing normals
Not much to talk about there. If normals hit on the same frame they clash, then whoever does hte next fastest move wins.
I just finished story mode on hard so I have a certain fresh perspective on why players are doing this. livekratos09 best way to win is spam down light or light. Fastest attacker wins in clash.
God I detest those kind of players, especialy being in the lower tiers like "Demon" I encounter this idiots quite often. Thanks for the tips Roofle !
Some REALLY bad people will just keep high jumping backwards without even calling assists or attacking at range and a simple way to bait them I've found is to start charging ki. Honk Goku Blue and his instant transmission moves.
THIS isee them all the time
Just use Cell and they are fucked.
I t-bag them and that usually gets them to charge me. It works really well if I've already killed off one or more of their characters.
Until they use ki blasts. This game is not even remotely easy. Or enjoyable for that matter.
This was really helpful, thank you! Hope you know that your videos are STILL helping newer players like me.
Thanks I HATE jumpers!
ive met alot of ppl who zone alot then when u move an INCH towards them they smash down heavy (usually goku black) or super dash
tankata2 Yes. They do such shit with Freezer A LOT too.
tankata2 bro allthe fucking time its pretty annoying
Thaaaats Neutral

How to deal with jumpers.
Samuel Jackson.
I see what u did there! Ayyylmao
This clever joke is wasted here my friend but earned my respect
If you're playing Goku Black when they hit the peak of their jump teleport and dragon rush that'll teach em.
There are way too many jumpers online. Like, they keep jumping away and don't even try to start offense, counterattacking is all they know it seems.. lately i've been finding ways to deal with it though, but it's still super annoying.

DRANTIS マ ダ ラ Bruh, that's like 90% of the pink and orange players i've met so far.. it's so damn boring to fight against that.
NSUNS243 Please upload some of your games Sir ! Since Storm series you're just a really talented player keep it all !
Cypher Yazoo I was thinking about doing that actually, but i'm still looking for the "perfect" match where both players play equally good and maybe do some impressive or cool stuff (combos, setups, baits etc).

Didn’t come across this situation until after I seen this video def needed it fought wayyyyyy too many jumpers
this is literally what ive been dealing with the past couple of days , thank you so much .

Blue veggie/tien/16 here. Those who block beware.

I've fought one today, freakin frustrating jumping around and spamming down-heavys and his level was "Living Legend" ?!
Great video keep up the good work
thx rooflemonger i am starting out and find your videos very useful
Hey roofle what team are you currently sticking with right now?
@rooflemonger Do you have a video on explaining when it's your turn to attack? I'm super comfortable blocking infact I'd say my blocking is pretty good, I'm very patient. I actually noticed that I have a habit of jumping and using air moves as certain characters. I've been trying to stop because some people are getting really crazy with the down heavy. At least I now know some of the things to watch out for when this happens.
My assists aren’t too good for lockdown so this video should help me.
I have never been so upset playing fighterz till some child just back jumped for 5 minutes
Can you make a video on how to auto correct cross ups when you do a IAD i think thatll be really helpful for the community
onefour9 Hold 4 when doing IAD.
Exia thats so inconsistent when i do it tho ): like sometimes it works sometimes it dont
onefour9 It's called practice.
Exia i cant really practice something i dont understand but thanks bud
Yea I was waiting for this
Can you tell me Hit Tien and Goku Blacks options for jumpers
Jamir1011 black has his instant transmission. It's very good against these turds.

what about cell vegeta and gohan
hits garbage in the air
For Hit use his qcf M Lp the time slashes it will force them to come down and you can pressure them
How well does a team of: Adult Gohan, Hit, and Majin 21 deal with this?
As a saibamen I thank you
Hey I have a question, i'm thinking of switching either Tien or Hit with Trunks because he covers my weaknesses of neutral and pressure, but I will lose a lot of synergy combos with Goku Black so do you think I should put Trunks on my team, if yes tell me who to switch with.
Well if you want him on your team you want him on your team and that's kinda that right? Play who you want!
Thanks, didn't think you would actually reply :)
I have noticed a lot of people spamming dragon rush in the air, now it kinda makes sense why they would do that
semjaavria they're mashing and not meaning to do it
Can you make a video about dealing with jumpers who uses Broly, Bardock and Goku? That was the most annoying match I've ever had...
any tips on how to counter people who use down medium a lot ?
So happy when I saw this title.
Super dash is all you need; just anticipate the KI blast or do the same right back. Avoid vanishes because I do this same crap to bait them
Really now what about air beam or air grab
Another great video thank you

Hey Roof, what rank are you?
You know you the man right 😉👍👍
Another tip: Use frieza heavy mash
Are you gonna do a vid on Vegeta Blue? Or is he the same as SS Vegeta?
Also i want Nappa Blue...
Can you do a podcast or something? I genuinely just like listening to you talk

Lol just got a league of legends ad with a No Game No Life soundtrack (sorry dont know the name)
*UI enters the chat*
I'm starting to see how many ppl play this way lol. Im new to the game. But I've already times out 4-5 ppl. 3 yesterday alone lol.
6:34
Woah that voice change
I change my voice inflection a lot its a thing I do for good or for bad
Omg yes I wish u could be at evo or sum torments tbh
Haha I wish I could attend more tournaments too friend. Unfortunately since I live in such a remote place I just can't afford the travel costs.
Goku Blue is probably a good option
4:06 I get it that he's annoying but you don't gotta call him dat 😭
2:34 HE HAS NO OTHER OPTIONS
Please beerus in depth please
THANK YOU
god I hate jumpers. thank God I'm not the only one lololoool
Now just make a video on down h spammers. Like ok yes I get it’s a counter to super dash, but goodness man
Al Dali just bait them to do it. Jump towards them while blocking and counterattack when they are recovering from 2h.
Just play Jiren keep countering and level 3 super boom😂
6:06 I see what you did there 😏
FINALLY
Yeah jumpers are super annoying, regularly fight people who’s main strategy is this.
No lie, jumping like this is a must for me against grapplers
Lolol change the future
These ppl are playing mario man
Waifu 18 😍
