It's Almost Swarm Season!

This video from mid March 2023 shows us going through the bees early in the season and swapping out hive boxes. We saw a few queen cups but no swarm cells, super packed boxes, or backfilling. At this point we still had some of our Eco Wood Treatment boxes in use so we were swapping those out with boxes we wax dipped.

Did you look inside those queen cups they almost done

I don't think there was anything in any of the cups in this video. I'm not positive though since this video was actually from over a year ago.
As for this season, we just started to see some young swarm cells with eggs in them a couple days ago. So we know we're getting very close to making a bunch of splits with swarm cells. We'll go through them next week and see how they're looking.
There have already been some swarms in our area. Our bees tend to build up a little later than others because of their Russian genetics. They build up very quickly though. Thanks for watching!
