Nathan, you have them rocking and rolling for sure. I like your idea of making strong splits. They take stresses better and SHB will struggle with a stronger nuc. Michael Palmer said maples have a lot of nectar and good pollen but usually hives are still expanding so fast they eat all the maple honey up. Hope your bees keep it going. God bless you and your family.
1st off - thank you for making this video. 2nd of all, I was watching this video when half way through the ad comes on saying, KILL MORE BUGS THIS WAY... Ummm, way to go UA-cam-algorithms. Link up more bee videos with pesticides GREAT MARKETING IDEA GUYS - 👍👍 - Someone deserves a raise over there!!!!
Best time of the season right now making nucs and putting in cells and waiting to see eggs. Nothing else to much worry about other then the weather forecast. Beetles still not a problem.. yet. Good luck Nathan
Our weather is finally breaking today and warming up enough tomorrow to be able to inspect and pull nucs out of hives... have eager new beekeepers waiting for their nucs! Staging and preparing everything today to dive in tomorrow!
I'd have to stock raise shrimp in that pond .. people quit raising catfish around my sister's in Tennessee raise shrimp.. they buy baby shrimps doesn't seem very hard .. they do prawns as well
Training two truffle dogs right now both labs on the Appalachian truffle.. it grows here in Michigan i had no idea until I started my wild mushroom certification..
I have to learn what to look for and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE If a hive is pissy and ya requeen will they mellow right a way or do you have to wait till the bees have all changed
Do you sell only medium nucs and if so, do you have any customers bulk at the medium nucs instead of deeps? Thinking about going to only mediums like you have. Thanks, Brady James
Be careful of the glass on the incubator. I had cells sitting on my seat and the sun was shining on the incubator and cooked all the cells on a 80 deg day. Green house effect.
I used to sell medium nucs, I just priced them accordingly and sold out each season. Everyone has a medium super to put them in, over or under a deep. @@DuckRiverHoney
LOL BUT YOU ARE SAFE BECAUSE OF THEIR BRAVE EFFORTS 😂😂
A renter not paying rent. Good way to put it! I call them place-takers

Good to see things progressing through the first split! Fingers crossed for a productive season!

Lol!
Nice looking cells. Splits are looking good. Take care
Good to hear from you Garry, thanks
Off to a good start! Hopefully the nectar flow timing works in your favor.
Hope we have decent flows this year.
Great 👍 info thanks for sharing with us. Good luck with splits 😊
Love those feeders
SHALLOW boxs are good for top feeders and cut comb. If starting again 13 years ago I'd go all brood or med. Boxs
I've got 40 + shallow from a deal I thought 10 years ago
Queen cells dry out is the #1 cause of failure.
Looking good. Diligent work pays off.
Thanks Barry
Looking Strong, Good luck with the splits.
Thanks!

It’s a great time for beekeeping!

It usually takes 6-8 weeks to see a real change.

I haven’t yet, I’m keeping everything I can make this year.
Be careful of the glass on the incubator. I had cells sitting on my seat and the sun was shining on the incubator and cooked all the cells on a 80 deg day. Green house effect.
I watch it closely and idle the truck to run the AC if it’s warm.
When u set your swarm traps do u use 2 mediums or just one?
Two, or one plus a spacer.
Standardized equipment is easier!
Absolutely!
Running all mediums. What are you going to do about future nuc sales?
I’ll do my best to sell medium nucs.

20 bucks for the feeder?
Your feeders are costly
