First Mite Washes of 2023

This video is from spring 2023. We had just lost 30% of our bees over the winter and we were anxious to increase our numbers. We bought a few queens and some packages to augment our numbers. Winter 2022/2023 was rough for us but we learned a lot. Looking back, we probably didn't need to buy any bees. We went from 68 to over 300 colonies in the 2023 season.

You guys should be feeding those bees so they cam draw those frames out. I would give them 3/4 to 1 . And they need the food from what i can see

You're right. In fact we should have fed these colonies in the summer of 2022 when we were first growing them out of nucs. They went into winter with small populations and lots of undrawn frames which is why they looked like this in spring 2023.
