I bought my first Bernina in 1993, a mechanical 1031. I have been a professional seamstress for over 45 years. There have been times I spent 12 hours a day sewing, and have even put zippers in leather golf bags, made covers for boats, to the sheerest fabrics for bridal. My Bernina has never let me down. I remarried 6 years ago and am so thankful for a husband that loves and supports my sewing, (at this point more of a passionate hobby). When a friend's wife passed away and that man was selling his wife's Bernina, a 1530, my husband bought it on the spot. He also knew I had always wanted an embroidery machine, so he found me an Artista 180. I have learned it on my own, and used it so much that he bought me another one!! I prefer these older machines. But the new one had been kept in a vault and never used! That dealer has checked it out and serviced it, anyway. I am so thrilled. As far as I am concerned, there is no other sewing machine to have. But I might be a bit biased!

I'm a new Bernina owner of the B770 QE, and I absolutely love it, but most of all I appreciate the history behind all Bernina's and knowing why it is such a solid and quality product from a solid company. I will own other Bernina's, especially the L890, overlock/cover stitch combo, got to have it, and the top-of-the-line B880, and other great Bernina's that will help create products for my business projects. My mom was a seamstress, the sounds of the industrial power machines, and other machines filled the rooms in our house, funny, I wasn't really interested when I was young, but in my over 60 years of age, the sewing bug hit me hard. My mom use to speak of Bernina's, Elna's, and Pfaff's, but could not afford them, however, her influence developed in me a passion I never thought I'd have.....she would be proud.

Hi Chris, thanks for your kind comment 😘. Coincidentally, just yesterday a German dealer posted a video of a visit to BERNINA in Switzerland: ua-cam.com/video/OuOgKoMi_U8/v-deo.html
The video is in German and partly Swiss German :-). We're not sure if you will understand ... Either way, we hope you'll find the factory tour interesting. Have fun watching!

Ok I may not have been a Bernina owner .... as I could never affort it.... but God Almighty Blessed my on my old age to become a devoted Bernina fan... started with a for me a 'dream machine' a Bernina 700D ... bought at a fleamarket and not working but as my friend had one and I was dreaming of one....took it to Attie Frick ...one of the famous Frick sewing machine company in South-Africa .... he fix it and I went home with my dream mashine and working ....{ I was a devoted Empisal fan before] ... then I bought my friends Bernina 700D ...yes the one that got me hooked to Bernina..... and then another friend died and her family said I can buy her Bernina 830 .... so my Bernina was now my favorit machines to work with....all it was old I just love that it perforned like I wanted!! .... and then a lady contacted me and said she inherited her grandma's machine and they are not sewers and she wanted to 'dump it it.... she didnot know anything of the machine but I must just enjoy it as it is old and she dont know if it will be usefull .... covid strike and everything was in lock down ...machine with stuff in storage... as soon as we could move she asked me to fetch it as is and at the storage as they move overseas..... I was excited as with always when sewing mchines was mentioned.... when I picked it up she said she dont want it back ...I had my treasure in the car and stopped at Attie to service and check the machine.... and it was a heavy machine... lady said machine did not work in 30+yrs..... it is a Bernina 117L !!!! ...it worked at once ..... ok antie google to the rescue..... thanks a lot ..my final years is going to be JOYFULL sewing!!!... my only regret is that I could not gave my grandmother who was a seamstres years ago as she was the one who planted the love for sewing when I was young .... she helped grandpa to provide for her family with sewing and taught her children and grandchildren to enjoy sewing.... me and my sister are enjoying sewing ... and yes we will newer beable to affort Bernina embroidery machines......... I may bore others with this story.... but Bernina is now my favorit machines ..... and a testomy for Berina ,,,, the quality performance changed my joice..... greetings from South-Africa
