    An excellent demonstration and as always in your videos detailed instruction. After many years of practising Ba Duan Jin I was looking to find a form that would provide a stepping stone to towards my goal of practicing Dao Yin Yang Shen and Wu Xin Qi. This form, Yin Jin Jing, does just that 🙏🦋

      I started with Integrated Tai Chi (10 animals Qi Gong system) then Baduanjin. After 2,5 years I am moving on to Yin Jin Jing by recommendation of Shi Heng Yi (Shaolin Temple) as the next step, as well as Luohan Postures which I may look into at a later time.
      I am also eager to explore Tai Chi at some point as my Qi-Gong practice evolves over time. It seems like having a good Qi-Gong foundation will be helpful as Tai Chi seems quite a bit more complex. I am thinking Shibashi will be a good practice to transition into Tai Chi when the time comes.

    Having practiced 2 more simple forms of Qi Gong for 2,5 years, this was a little different. More challenging, intense yet fun and I really loved doing my first session to your video. It feels like prior practice has paid off as I managed to keep up here pretty well, which no way I could if I started with this as a first timer. Thanks :)

    6:44 lols---and I was proud of how deep my horse stance is getting. I'll be working up to this one! I love lily because not only is she a great instructor and very kind about responding to posts, it's nice to see someone not in her teens or 20s do these practices so well. Lily, you're keeping me sane during CoVid lockdown! (I usually comment over on your Five Animals page but am trying to widen my scope of practice.)

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  4 роки тому +4

      hee hee 😅 Thank you Minissa. I'm so glad you are 'widening' your practice. Don't worry about horse stance, it's just import to keep the spine straight towards the sky rather than tilt forward. These video practices were a way to help me through the covid pandemic too, I'm practicing lots more qigong sequences ready for it to stop raining/snowing...being an 'older' lady, I will have to wait for the weather to warm up before I go outside 😉🙏💓

(Seriously, the suppleness and strength gained with qigong practice is making me less afraid and maybe more likely to believe I can get back up!) Hello Alessandro,
      Thank you for the lovely question - I’m so glad you are practicing and enjoying the Yi Jin Jing with me - Where the movements may not be as clear on the breath I’ve tried to explain a little more detail below:
      Wei Tuo Presenting the Pestle
      • Inhale - draws hands forward fingers together
      • Exhale - lifts elbows to side
      • Inhale - sweeps hands forward and out to side / flex wrists + squeeze shoulder blades
      • Exhale - rotate and release
      Black Dragon Displays its Claws
      • Inhale - extend hand down and out to side
      • Exhale - as you extend the hand across chest
      • Inhale - draws hand above hip
      • Exhale - press palm towards floor / brush across feet / palm turn forward
      • Inhale - make a fist / draw back to hip
      • Exhale - pause at the top before next movement on other side
      Tiger Pouncing on its Prey
      • Inhale - turn and hug in
      • Exhale - pounce
      • Inhale - draw back on the wave of the spine
      • Exhale - second pounce / sink down
      • Inhale - draw back to standing
      • Exhale - pause at the top before next movement on other side
      I hope this proves helpful, don’t give up, the breath will make its own pattern as you get more accustomed to the movements.
      Warmest wishes, Lily ⭐

    Hello! Thank you for the video)
    1) There are many variations of the Yijin Jing, where did you find this particular one?
    2) Do I need to do some inner work in these exercises? I mean focusing on something inside the body. Or is it just physical exercise?

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  Рік тому +1

      Hello, thank you for the enquiry - this is the International Health Qigong Association version of the Yi Jin Jing (Muscle-Tendon Strengthening Exercises). All qigong has an inner focus to unblock the meridians and remove stale energy from the body - and to cultivate Qi and restore health to the body. Yi Jin Jing specifically features, soft, extended, even movements that invigorate the limbs and internal organs. In particular, improving flexibility, balance, and muscular strength, it also has a beneficial effect on the respiratory system. It is a wonderful meditative movement when focussed on the breath. ☯️ Lily

      In the meantime these practices a very good for the condition:

      With a little adjustment of 'not folding so over' in the movements - the Yi Jin Jing Health Qigong practice is also very good:

    Will this help tendonitis?

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  2 роки тому +1

      Hello, thank you for your question. The Yi Jin Jing Qigong is not an exact science but the strength and suppleness of your tendons does strongly influence both your physical health, and your overall sense of somatic and psychological wellbeing. Tendon training, Yi Jin Jing exercises can keep your tendons healthy and in this way help them to heal. Tendonitis though is a medical condition that I understand does require rest and treatment. Once you have completely your recuperated you may find a regular practice may stop the reoccurrence of the tendinitis but there would need to be an understanding of what caused the inflammation in the first instance. warmest wishes, Lily 🙏

    Hi: Someone on another video of this practice told me it should not be done in the evening, which, of course, is when I tend to do it. Do you have a feeling one way or the other about this? Is there a reason for this recommendation? Hope you are well with CoVid going but now coming back! What would I do without my teacher?

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Minissa, thank you as always for your lovely questions, it's wonderful to hear from you.
      Answer part 1- I have been researching online and in-person into the question of evening practice for you. I've also spoken with my teachers Grand Master Li and Master Yip and come to agreement that we've not heard of a reason why you would not practice in the evening as the Health Qigong practice is therapeutic.

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  3 роки тому +2

      Answer part 2 - If you go to the original Shaolin texts and practice, it is a much more rigorous and intense practice of self defence and body mastery but there are no documented ill effects or recommendations for the practice documented over hundreds of years. The other video may have been referring to the 'wake up' of exercise at night? I like to feel for the effects of the practices and how my body and mind respond. How have you felt since starting the practice Minissa? Keep well, Lily x

      @@YogaLilyStudio There are parts like Sinking the 3 Bodily Zones and Tiger Seizing its Prey that took me a few tries to work up to but between this and your Five Animals, I'm recovering flexibility and gaining back some strength and stamina. I did Yi Jin Jing up in Yellowstone while awaiting geysers and got eruptions soon after I finished lols! I guess I can see how far I've come when I see my husband and son try to get through Yi Jin Jing and have to stop halfway through! It seems like a lot of that practice is good just posturally for those of us who live slouched over computer keyboards. Thank you so kindly for your quick and thoughtful response. Do I remember you're in the UK? How are things over there?

      @@minissa2009 Hi Minissa, It's really wonderful that you are able feel the benefits of the practices and see how you've progressed. The Qigong practices are subtle compared to more modern exercises or therapies. While qigong takes time to reveal its effects, it's weathered the changes and has refined itself over many hundreds of years so that the benefits bring internal peace as well as physical benefit. Its so lovely to hear that you are practicing with the family and practicing outside. I've seen photos of Yellowstone and it looks an area of outstanding beauty, you are very lucky with the countryside in America. I'm in the UK yes, we've been okay, and luckily kept well. I've had a challenging year with health and business but have been studying with the Open University and training more with Qigong and Tai Chi. I hope to bring you some more practices soon. Lily x

      @@YogaLilyStudio This is really strange. I recently had one of my mentors in the UK mention the Open University as a possibility for my doctoral work, so maybe this is the universe telling me I should check it out! I so appreciate your kind replies whenever I ask a question and hope your health and things are improving. I game with a number of people in Europe and between the floods in Germany and the bizarre weather variations lots of places, I keep checking on them to make sure they're all right. I tend to forget a "balmy" 85 or 90 over here is more than many countries in Europe are equipped to handle under normal conditions. Stay well, and I will remember you in my prayers!

      Hi, the sound is HAI (similar high) with a light pressure of tongue to the upper pallet.

    great video thanks, how much force should you use on the movements? For example, when you say pull in, should you be pulling hard with lots of muscle and tension or just doing it gently?

      Hi, that's a really good question! Not too strong, not too soft - Outside looks relaxed and soft but feel the energy from inside. Finding the middle way is called the Dao 道 the Chinese way is finding balance in the middle. I hope this helps. 😊 Lily
