  • Shunting an empty wagon, 2 wagons of sandbags, and a wagon with logs at Twyford Waterworks, 42494, a Lister SR2 Diesel Shunter built in 1956. This is an example of the later Lister design and has a Lister SR2 diesel engine. It was supplied new to the Eclipse Peat Co Ltd in 1956 for use on the narrow gauge railway around their extensive peat workings on the Somerset Levels at Ashcott and Shapwick near Glastonbury. These workings were taken over by Fisons in 1961. One feature of the railway was a crossing over the standard gauge Highbridge line, where in 1949 a narrow gauge locomotive collided with a steam engine and knocked it right off the track! Use of the narrow gauge railway at Ashcott finished by 1983, joining the Industrial Tracks Collection in Essex in 1996. In 2004, the locomotive was moved to Twyford and is now operated regularly on the open days.
